I don't watch MTP any more. Cannot stand Gregory. I am upset about the DOUBLE STANDARD regarding Rep Hoekstra , and his little TREASON episode. If this was a dem, the repukes would be calling for his head. Turds.

I refuse to ever watch Gregory.....what a poor choice he is for MTP
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
he's had the worst ratings ever for that show... they'll either have to replace him soon, or kiss their show goodbye... either option would be an improvement...

The Grammys should be interesting....All this fuss about that rapper MIA; most people do not realize that she is a loyal supporter of the LTTE, the terrorists who started suicide bombing in Sri Lanka, and have been been responsible for the killing of leaders like Rajiv Gandhi. She is going to play victim and bring attention to the situation if she wins.

I will be shocked, SHOCKED I tell you if anyone asks Steele about his pending scandal. The role of the media is to roll over for the GOP not confront them. After all it was the media who gave Card a platform to criticize Obama for wearing just a shirt and tie while working. Bush should have been in a straight jacket maybe then he might have been a good little boy.

So the same self indulgent ass wipes who have shoved Free Trade down our throats without any thought to job losses, collapse of banks and wall street, are now worried about political unrest.

BERLIN (AFP) – The global economic crisis could trigger political unrest equal to that seen during the 1930s, the head of the World Trade Organization (WTO) said in a German newspaper interview Saturday.

"The crisis today is spreading even faster (than the Great Depression) and affects more countries at the same time," Pascal Lamy told the Die Welt newspaper.

Questioned about the risks of political instability, Lamy -- who wraps up his four-year term as WTO director-general in September -- responded that that was "the main danger".

"This crisis weighs heavily on politics and puts peace in danger," he said.

"Some democracies are old and sufficiently stable to overcome such problems, (but) others are going to be confronted by unrest and inter-religious and inter-ethnic conflicts."

He went on to warn against protectionism, saying it would be "wrongly easy" for nations to throw up trade barriers in response to the economic and financial downturn.

Launched in January 1995, and now with 153 member states, the WTO's mandate is to liberalise international trade.

When the economy starts circling the bowl you can be sure these Neocon bastards are going to be rooted out and put away. They have no concept of what they have done, they only think of their own hides. Wolfowitz and that crew should be put in prison along with the Bushco boys.

I, too, refuse to watch the Meat Press with the hideously acne scarred Mr. Gregory...Randy sex addict Chuck Todd would have been a better selection.
Still NO cable chatterers have interrupted their semi-scripted talking points to mention the President slamming "cable chatter" and "phony arguments" in Williamsburg Thursday evening.
The establishment now fully depends on bad info, erectile meds and the attention deficits they engender among the soon-to-be-unemployed.
"Cable chatter" roughly 1:55 and 6:03 in...Quite near soundbits big media found acceptable:

Yeah, let's take a stroll down Memory Lane and review what our finest pundits had to say about the Iraq war (remember that?) six years ago.

    Q. to all: Why are we still criminally and illegally occupying the Republic of Iraq. We should be withdrawing our one hundred thousand contractors now. Why are we still criminally and illegally occupying the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan? Time to stop wasting our tax dollars on stupid imperial occupations.

Barny Frank should be in jail.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
that would be a good scapegoat anyway. since we don't prosecute republicans for crimes against humanity.

    Or Democrats for Tax evasion.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
once in a while they prosecute a republican for tax evasion. but the contrast with the bush/cheney variety of criminality is jarring.

Bush croney Bob Scheiffer first introduced John McCain, and after that session of smiles and softball questions,
he turned his face to a scowl to grill Senator Conrad about the wasteful stimulus package. Waste the Nation

Please explain how "The Last 8 Years" is continuously mentioned when in truth, during the last 2 years of Bush's term, the Democrats were in control and had the lowest approval rating of ANY congress in history, in the SINGLE DIGITS! They were known as "The DO NOTHING CONGRESS." Please tell me why no one remembers Maxine Waters, along with Dodd and Franks, speaking at a hearing on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac explaining that these institutions were perfectly healthy. This is a hearing that the Republicans pressed for because of the sub-prime debacle which was looming large over our economy. Does anyone remember McCain demanding regulations and oversight? I do! Why don't the democrats, now that they hold the reins in both the house and senate, stop the accusatory posturing and instead get to work and do the job right.
  • Think_Globally_2 · 1 year ago
They were a "do nothing" congress because Bush threatened to veto anything they wanted to do. Even with a majority, without 60 votes (and enough Republicans would never leave their group-think club) they could never override his veto threats or a Republican filibuster.

Also, one big problem with the last 8 years is that there were lots of regulations, they just weren't enforced. Who needed to pass more that would be just be ignored?
  • Fatima · 1 year ago
GOP senator Shelby is saying "financial stimulus a disaster". How did he vote when Bush was asking tens of billions of dollars for Iraq every year? Did he vote for TARP under Bush? So, it is OK to bail out the big guys, the banks and the Wall street firms and not put money into infrastucture to create jobs and help the little guy?

    This goes directly to dancingontheheadofapin:
How unfortunate for our country that we stil have people like you. The democrats controled the senate the last 2 years of the Bush's administration, by 1 or 2 votes !!!. We continued on the same course as the prior six years because the democrats didn't have enough votes to overide a Bush's veto; let's not forget the number of times the former president theatened to veto any new legislation by the "democratic" controled congress. What a joke !!. As usual; republicans are not able to own to the policies they pretty much passed during eight years !!!.
