Tom Allen, needs to fight back now, here's the ad:
Show the same Soprano's guy, only this time he's the boss.. Now show him intimidating the hell out his employee..' you better not vote for union...' Now show the employee talking to the union organizer... 'don't worry, it's a secret ballot and the boss doesn't know how anyone votes...yay!' that's why they have secret ballots... most people don't know...

Up here in our corner of the country, we had Governor Gregoire's (D) campaign do something similar. She's running against a crud named Dino Rossi. She or her minions ran an ad showing Dino Rossi (I'm assuming he has Italian ancestory) with the music from the Sopranos running as the soundtrack. Rightfully she was chastised and she pulled the ad. Neither side should be doing this stuff. At least Gregoire's campaign pulled the ad.

Union-busting is the Republican answer to everything. Ronald Reagan really did turn the clock back. While the rest of the world entered the 21st century, we re-entered the 19th. I demand that Susan Collins wear high-collar lace, a whale bone corestte, and a proper bussle. And she better not show her ankles!

"Union-busting is the Republican answer to everything. "
I maintain that our manufacturing base has been relocated primarily as a way to eliminate unions. If you get rid of the workplaces and the jobs, you sure as hell get rid of the unions.
To destroy the welfare state, these bastards have torn down the state itself.

You're right about that. Union-busting was the leading theme of both Ayn Rand's giant novels, "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead." I'm convinced those are the textbook sources of the Republican Agenda as Ronald Reagan represented it. The struggle isn't over; they keep on pushing.

Shame on Curatola for appearing in these scurrilous anti-working people ads: he's just whoring himself out...

Local news in MN destroyed that same ad being run against Al Franken:
MN Senate Race: “Reality Check” Pwns Anti-Worker Astroturf Ad Against Al Franken MN’s WCCO CH4 news’ “Reality Check” segment destroys, point-by-point, a new intentionally misleading Sopranos-spoof TV ad by the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace, which is actually a cartel of national business groups including the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) and Wal-Mart, masquerading as a pro-union, pro-worker group ... http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/07/14/mn-sen...

The only reason this is possible is because war-profiteering is off the table as a news topic. If Susan Collins was forced to defend voting for $400 million a day in Iraq, we'd see who the "mafia" is really supporting.

Susan Collins is an enemy of working people. Just look at the decline of wages, and benefits which have occured as union membership has declined. Our standard of living declined due to the absence of unions in all too many places. Republicans and their corporate masters believe in the cheap labor policies of outsourcing to avoid unions.

Can somebody explain to me why private balloting in a vote on organizing into a union is a bad idea?
Can somebody explain to me why private balloting is ever a bad idea?
I'm all for unions, but I don't think the end justifies the means.

You know, neither one desevers it. Maine native here, first district.
As much as I'll never vote for Collins, Allens' campaign is crap. Complete with disappointment.
