AMERICAblog: Ted Kennedy is fighting back

  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Sorry guys this is OT- no where to put this and it's too important. This from the NYT front page article on the Hensley family. Just one exerpt says it all about the family:

In addition, Meghan, Jack and James, the biological children of Mr. and Mrs. McCain, each have 7.73 percent of Hensley & Company. Andy McCain, 45, the senator’s stepson, has 6.8 percent. Bridget McCain, the McCain’s adopted daughter, has shares worth 3.4 percent. (Ms. Hazelbaker of the McCain campaign said Bridget’s stake would eventually equal her siblings’.)

    Nuf said.

It makes me wonder how they will make ends meet if daddy doesn't get the presidency.(snark) and we suddenly stop drinking beer. My pups all have 100% of a dwindling near nothing. But, they are better equiped in the brains department and better looking too. :)

Bridget McCain, the McCain’s adopted daughter, has shares worth 3.4 percent.

Oh, come now, you don't mention the broom, mop, bucket, scrub-brushes, dust clothes and furniture polish that the McCains have been so generous as to give her. Not to mention their unmatched generosity in giving her the worn out clothes from the other children. And add to that wonderful straw mattress next to the fireplace and the wonderful, very warm rags they give her to sleep under. You know if the Bushes adopted her, she would have raw strip marks on her back, evidence of broken bones, fed scrapes (swill) and live in the pig pen at Crawford and in the dog house at the White House.

Senator Ted Kennedy is an inspiration to this country and Americans on all sides of all aisles.

After Obama's speech, Ted Kennedy joins him at the podium with many others (Muhammed Ali will be there) and sing along as Bruce Springsteen plays We Shall Overcome, This Land Is Your Land and America the Beautiful.

    Ted Keendy is MY Senator.

I could not be prouder of him.

If he makes it to Denver, be prepared for a speech for the ages.

An appearance will be fine. He has taped a speech already. I am not sure we should expect more than he is avle to deliver.

What a guy! God bless him, I hope he's up to speaking at the convention; I can't think of anyone else who can fire us up better than Ted.

I know he gets a lot of grief from people, but I've always been proud of Ted Kennedy. He's one of the few remaining bastions of liberal philosophy, proudly and unabashedly standing up for what's right and for honestly progressive ideals. I really hope a few more like him come up through the ranks, we need a younger generation to start taking the lead in being liberal and unapologetic about it.

My heart goes out to Sen Kennedy and his family. I've had to face the death of my parents and a brother to cancer. It's not pretty. But I didn't have to face brain cancer. That's a really nasty one. Many cancers are fatal, but brain cancer patients have uncontrollable emotional outbreaks that are terrible for both the patient and their family. I consider myself lucky to have avoided that, but Ted and his family can't. If Ted can make it to Denver, that's a great thing. But if he can't, we should understand why and have some sympathy. And while I'd like him to recover fully, that unfortunately may not be possible. But what is possible is to celebrate his life and the good things he's done. We are all better for his living, and we should thank him for that.

Ted Kennedy impressed me as a thoughtful person when he penned his "China Policy for the 70's" in 1969. Strange that the web doesn't have a copy of it--even today, it makes for a good read.

Too bad hie screwed up his chances for the presidency by being really stupid in his personal life.

You're right about that last point, but we still prefer his policy to that of the neocons (easy choice).

At least he's prevailed over most of the challenges in his life, and we have been lucky to have him in the Senate. Think of what it would have been like without him the last 8 years, especially!

Ted Kennedy, get well and live long. He is the gold standard and the voice for LIBERAL Democrats!

Ted Kennedy is as tough as they get. Even after the monstrosity that has befallen our nation with this current administration and all the destruction they've brought down on us and the globe in the past 8 years, Kennedy always works on our behalf (really, on behalf of all the citizens of the U.S.). A thousand blessings and thanks to him, and as many best wishes to him, as well!
