The coverage is going to get a lot worse. Don't forget what the press did to Gore and Kerry. Remember how Howard Dean's whole campaign was dismantled over a weekend because the press indicted him with a short clip in which he yelled. Meanwhile these same GOP shills totally ignore the Billary scandals like when she photo-shopped Obama's skin color for a racist negative ad. And not a single MSM outlet reported when Bill Clinton turned his back on the Democratic Party and guest-hosted the Rush Limbaugh program. The Clintons are disgusting and yet the media gives them a pass just like they did all through the 90's.

No kidding, CNN Headline is treating us all this morning as if we ourselves cannot understand plain English. The voice over says that Hillary "all but called him [Obama] a limousine liberal." (So is that why CNN had to go ahead and call him that? because Hillary "all but" did it? THIS is the opposite of journamalism. It's evil!)

Saw "This Week." Had the feeling I got during the "Dean Scream" moment.
Remember? Dean got excited, gave a "Eeeah!" in a loud crowd a little too close to the microphone. It was proof to all that he was CRAZY! Koo-Koo! A WACK-O!
Any Hillary supporters out there loving this, remember: If she beats the odds and wins the nomination, the Republicans and the media will do this to her twice as hard, twice as often.

BatGuano: "If she beats the odds and wins the nomination, the Republicans and the media will do this to her twice as hard, twice as often."
Believe me, she doesn't stand a chance against McCain. Like most Obama supporters I know, we would never lift a finger to help her corrupt campaign. If she somehow rigs the voting enough to 'win' the nomination, we will be sitting out the election. I would rather see McCain go ahead and take the Presidency than another degenerate Clintonista. She can go to hell for all I care.

What upsets me and alot of people is this went from a nonissue and reporting the facts on Friday to the media spinning it into something else and alluding that this was an insult to people and outright lying by the media. What is the matter with them. This is how things end up going so wrong. The media takes nothing and stirs it into a big deal and then lies and twists things from the original report. I am so angry about the way this primary has been covered as a gossipy and overblown about shallow things while ignoring the facts and the issues. This is why more people are turning to the internet. We are sick and tired of the way the media is acting like Hollywood reporters then so called responsible news. I honestly think it is past time to organize an emailing campaign to complain about this way of reporting. I am fed up

I know why they think it's a mistake. God forbid anyone running for office articulates the problems of people outside the beltway. They know 80% of us think they (politicians and elitist pundits) are doing a crappy job. If they want to flip us a big fat middle finger, fine. Who needs em. I'm starting to think Obama might be the Perfect Storm to these guys.

Parsing Obamas words is MUCH more important than our dear leader, Bush, admitting he knew about the cozy torture talks in the White House. The first president to condone torture and the media just lets it slide. Yea, I am damn mad about that!
War crimes in the Oval Office should be the lead on every news cast in America this month. But cant make the 28% think about that, their beautiful minds may get sullied or conflicted or something.

I get the impression that the right wing is running scared, terrified, frightened, panicked out of their minds of Obama and have got their quisling turncoat in the Democratic party to shill for them. It's very early yet for such twisted, dishonest attacks on Obama, impuning his character, integrity, sincerity and, of course, race (also religion). When Hillary keeps insinuating that a Black man can't be as patriotic, honest, honorable and intelligent as a White woman, then her playbook is coming straight out of the Republican Southern strategy and is completely disgraceful. Don't forget, even last year, she hinted that Obama supported allowing drug dealers and adult bookstores within a block of schools. In reality, Obama was a corporate candidate who started off with as much corporate support as Hillary and both of them received much more funding than any of the Republican candidates. What happened to Obama is that he raised the majority of his funding after the initial funding from the grassroots off the internet. That means he is free or nearly free of any obligation to betray the American people and promote the corporate, fat cat, elitist and priviledged agenda. At this point, even if he were to swear on a stack of Bibles that he was owned by the corporations, they won't believe him. If the corporations and right wing have their way, Obama will not live one minute past 12:00 pm, January 20, 2009. Of course, if possible, they will take him out prior to his inaguration, either discredit him to the point where he can't be elected or failing that, they won't hesitate to put a bullet between his eyes. Given the current composition of the Supreme Court, I can even see them passing a judgment that Obama is not eligible to be president. Failing that, Roberts will whip out a gun and shoot him when he puts his hand on the Bible.

here is a link, in it there is a video of an old guy in rural PA, supporting obama comments even though he is not going to vote for her.
Oh yea, Barack Obama is elitist. Give me a fucking break. Hillary really needs a rude awakening. She's a huge millionaire and SHE'S calling him elitist? She's the Senator from New York and she calls him elitist?! How fucking stupid is this woman. Rather than tamp down the 'democrats are elitist' bullshit, she wants to fan the flames despite the fact that if she does pull off a miracle and kills off Obama's chances, the 'elitist' label will be the nicest thing the Republicans will say about her.
I expect Hillary will haul her fake southern accent out of mothballs any minute now to show how 'down to earth' she is. The media is making all this hay about Hillary drinking beer and taking shots and shooting small defenseless animals for fun. Thats called "Saturday night" in small town America. I know. I grew up there.
Also, what the fuck is wrong with the media. You'd think Obama was eating American White Christian babies the way they are covering this story. He did say what he said in a stupid way. But he is essentially right. People will turn on others who differ from them when economic times grow harder rather than placing the blame where it belongs. They reach for their Bible to justify their hatred, and their guns to defend it. Witness the rise of the KKK. Although correct, this isn't exactly the audacity of hope, and people really don't wanna hear it.

What is wrong with the media? Who owns four out of five of the major media outlets? Do you really think these Sunday morning talk shows are written by the likes of Russert? Obama is the only candidate who did not condemn Carter for meeting with Hamas. Thus, we have non-stop "bitter" coverage from shills like Wolf Blitzer. Obama is not trusted by the so-called media. I don't find it as bad as the calls of racism that have come out against Hillary Clinton for much less. I mean this very blog urged people to call out members of congress in public restaurants as racists just because of one word or a slightly tinted video.
Sadly, the Obama campaign opened the door for this exact rhetoric. Now they get to live with it.

Only a Multi Millionaire can understand me, because even though I am unemployed I have always wanted to make millions and millions of dollars or either do it the easy way and marry into millions so that is why only Clinton and McCain can understand me. When I have to decide on which bill to pay either my mortgage or the car note and the electric bill I think of just how hard it must be for Hillary and John so I forge on. When I feel sick I have to diagnose my symptoms either I feel like I can make it another day or maybe I can’t it is a toss-up, but what really gets me through these times is Hillary and John because they feel my non bitterness. Hillary said I am resilient and not bitter and John told me that everything is okay simply because he said so. I wake up every day and sing, do a little dance, roll up my sleeves and say I am the opposite of bitter, I repeat this several times until I get it through my head that everything is okay and I am not bitter. Once you get to the multi millionaire status you get that great understanding of what people like me are going through. And, if your dare to call me bitter then you must be an elitist that has not made a million dollars yet or you would feel my non pain, and know that I am not, I repeat I am not fucking bitter.

There is a clip I am looking for where 3 people on CNN on Friday, including Borger, defended obama's comments even though Blizter was trying to make it a big deal. I find it amazing that after this, Hillary and McCain pounced on it. Now Hillary is talking about her duck hunting and doing shots with the 'boys'. I hope the rumor is true that Gore and Carter are going to try to end this travesty. I hope that the superdelegates open their eyes and see what Hillary is doing to the party. McCain is pulling ahead of both Obama and Clinton. Drop out Hillary so that Obama can focus on McCain and the Dems can win in November! This previously posted clip needs to be a story!

This whole thing is utter BS. A couple months back, during the CA primaries we were having a staff meeting. We normally go around the room and do an intro featuring a different topic of conversation - how are you feeling today? Name one positive thing from this week, blah, blah. That week, we asked "What are you excited about this election season?"
Now, I work at a small non-profit that hires from it's constituency, so our staff consists of 90% people who have struggled with homelessness, poverty, substance abuse, and other issues that we address at the organization. Much to my suprise, a number of our employees were completely jaded about the election and didn't even care to participate.
I guess after a couple stolen elections, candidates whose wealth and consumption over rides the issues facing the poor, and the eight years of unaccountable liars, it shouldn't be suprising that people would feel jaded by the process.
I really hope that those people speak up and say "YES! We are jaded (or whatever word Obama used)! We are feeling left out of the process! We are completely disengaged and it's because of the system!
It's utterly infuriating for any of the candidates to speak on the behalf of the electorate when they are so out of touch with anything that any of them are going through.

Somehow, I find it very difficult to dredge up any sympathy for the suffering supporters of Sen. Obama when there are so many examples of tripe such as Brenda's little diatribe 56 minutes ago: "I'd rather see McCain go ahead and take the presidency than another degenerate Clintonista." A perfect example of the crap that become the staple of too many supporters of Sen. Obama. All the fanatic talking points in one post: Sen. Clinton's campaign is corrupt (examples, please), threats to sit out the election (Democrats have been elected without your vote before and will again), attempts to liken support of Sen. Clinton to unsavory South American political practices, and finally a stamping of your little foot in disdain. When will you people get it into your heads that Sen. Obama is not the "winner". He hasn't "won" the nomination and, unless the superdelegates corruptly throw the nomination to him, he won't get the nomination until the convention. If then. Until Sen. Obama actions convince me that he is more deserving of my vote than Sen. Clinton he will remain my second-choice for the Democratic nomination. All that the petulance, spite, ill-informed ranting and childish ravings posted by his supporters do is almost make me wish I could move him to third place in my list of choices. But, rather than run the risk to our country of a John McCain presidency, I will gladly support whoever the convention nominates. Ball's in your court...

Well said, Doug! I too am a Hillary supporter who will support Obama if he gets the nomination. Some of these rabid Hillary haters are letting their emotions cloud their judgment. Do they *really* want warmonger McCain as President rather than Hillary, because that's exactly what will happen if they act like sore losers and sit out the election if Hillary is the nominee. Whoever the Democratic nominee *can* and *will* win the election *if* Democrats are united.
And Doug, you're absolutely correct: contrary to what Obama supporters may erroneously believe, Obama has *not* closed the deal, and the nomination is *still* up for grabs.

I think all the talking heads missed the point of Obama's remarks which in my opinion weren't that hard to comprehend. I believe the point he was trying to make is that all these working class white folks continue to struggle year after year - empty promise after empty promise.....and rather than voting their interests they gravitate towards what they know.....the language of God, Gays, Guns....which Republican's have so effectively used to get them to vote against their own interests. I don't think he articulated his point well - but I think rather than belittling the group of which he was speaking, he was pointing out that they keep falling for the same old thing time and time again and are so embittered by past disappointment that they are tuning out to the possibility of government doing something different and tuning into that tired old familiar pitch of 'God/guns/gays.' The Republicans have convinced them that government is bad because Republicans are bad at governing. The challenge is to inspire them to hope again and convince them that a difference is possible and that government CAN make a positive difference. Democrats for too long have let Republicans define who we are. It's time to bury them!
