AMERICAblog: The crowds have been stunning

The wonky speech was my favorite. I downloaded it, printed it out, and read it like a sutra.

I agree--I thought it was the perfect blend of specifics on the issues, inspiration, and attacking McCain.

    OMG..MSNBC...Obama's grandmother has died...
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Fox News, Limbaugh, Brad Blakeman, and Sarah Palin will probably say she purposely timed her death the day before the election to get Obama a few sympathy voters. . .

hopefully they'll come out and vote. I have been getting really nervous recently for some reason.

Breaking: Barack's grandmother has died. The day before the election...OMG! How sad....
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
I am really sorry that she did not live to see him win the elections.

She must have been an awesome lady.

McCain campaign wants us to believe these are just curiosity seekers who want to brush up against Obama's "celebrity" status. They're not actually going to vote. Aside from African-Americans, college professors and a few of their students, and labor activists who hate American business, ALL other Americans will vote for McCain. It's the MegaBradley Effect. Most of the 52% whom polls show are for Obama are really just "afraid" to tell an "anonymous" voice that they are actually voting for McCain/Palin, since "nobody" wants to be considered a "racist." The McCain shills really believe it's going to be 70-30 for McCain.

Curiosity seekers don't come out in these numbers at this late date in a campaign. They come out earlier, when the candidate is still a novelty. Obama's far beyond that. These people are energized and want to accomplish something. I think that it's more likely that the disgruntled, angry, alienated complainers in McCain's right-wing base, his Joe the Phony Plumber constituency, are more likely just to get pissed off and not vote at all. They're not going to put themselves out to stand in line for someone they know is a loser. All the same, keep working guys.

BS, these people are there because they want change in their lives and in the world. His run for the White house has been nothing short of extraordinary.

    Tomorrow is our moment.

I hope the polls have to stay open late and give out paper ballots to all people in line to vote. Landslide Obama '08.

That is so sad about Barack's grandmother.
But, what a man. So many of us would be very proud to have him as a son, and grandson, too. But first and foremost, the 44th president of the United States of America.

It was great to see the huge crowd in Denver stretching from the Capital to Civic Center. I went online at the Denver Post. The Photos of the event were great. There was one that was exceptional. It was a picture of the American flag with an Obama supporter holding a unity sign near by.

The masses have already spoken! We are just waiting for the vote count! The day of reckoning is at hand! Republicans will go down in defeat! Hey!

The Republican party will become the party of age... Republicans are headed for a serious split! Moderates -vs- religious radicals. They have earned everything we are about to give them!

Who decided we were "disappointed by Obama's wonky convention speech"?

Last I heard, it was being compared to Martin Luther King Jr.'s oratory, and it so spooked John McCain that he felt the need to make the Sarah Palin announcement less than 12 hours later, just to get it off the front pages. I don't recall anyone being "disappointed" by how "wonky" it was.

Me either. it was a moving speech. I'm hoping we get this done.
