AMERICAblog: The Daily Show tackles the rape-kit controversy

Because if they found out quickly that they were indeed pregnant, they might wanna do something about that, but Sarah seems interested in making rape victims keep a souvenir of their event.

And I just find that the worst kind of revolting.

if lower income have to pay for the rape kit they are more than likely not going to get one and therefore further from getting a morning after pill...

I have been wondering exactly what Palin's experience is on energy...McPain has been insisting she is a maestro at this, but no one goes into any detail.
Does her experience only include building a pipeline?
I have a feeling that this might be yet another McCain/Palin lie. They lied about everything else, so why not this too?

More and more, Palin is proving to be an empty, lying, pantsuit.

Yes, laying pipe is her great claim to fame. Or it would be, but the pipeline hasn't been built. In actual real life it might never get built. But Palin has a dream, oh yes indeed, a grand dream of a big, big pipeline. Paid for by you and me.

Caribou Barbie, Grandpa's running mate, apparently has NO skills or experience needed for this job. But she's a new face, a kriss-chun, a hockey mom, and all those goodies that Karl Rove loves to trot out every four years to get his fundy Neanderthals in line once more to keep the Exxon CEO happy as a $400 million clam.

Stewart addressing the rape-kit issue caused me to jump clean out of my chair and yell, a reaction I usually reserve for celebrating the times my Sooners score a touchdown. Just how much more ignorant would the electorate be without Stewart and Colbert?

Palin: the first running mate selected by "speed dating." Not just a national joke, an INTERnational joke!

People all over the world wish they could vote in this election - the new American president won't just affect U.S. citizens after all. Witness the evidence of this at: http://www.myvirtualvote.com

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that her stand is due to the emergency contraception contained in the rape kit.

This NEEDS to be publicized. My mother was appalled at this and I know that others in her age group and background would be as well.

    Life under Palin:

Rape victims will have to pay for their own rape kits.
Robbery victims will have to pay to have the police come out to their homes.
The families of murder victims will have to pay for the forensic autopsy.

Sounds like Palin is qualified to run an airline at least.

The Obama Campaign isn't going to make this an issue.

527s, Hillary, every elected female surrogate, and feminist organizations need to get out there and beat that drum until it breaks.

This would be prime for Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood. How I would have loved to have heard her mother, Ann Richards, on this topic!

    Joe,
Who is going to make this story big? I got the same gasp from female Obama volunteers who heard about the rape kits. I keep emailing Andrew Sullivan, I don't think he is covering it.

I just keep thinking that this story has the most emotional wallop. Maybe Rachel Maddow? ABC just did a piece on domestic violence and rape in AK, but didn't mention the rape kit issue. I called NOW, yesterday, they are aware of it but the woman I spoke to didn't know if they would cover this in their PAC ads.

Maybe Jon Stewart will cover it more extensively. Did anyone notice how much contempt he has for Palin in this video? He's usually much better about hiding his anger.

Aren't most rapes basically feminine entrapment schemes? How many women actually get picked up off the street by strangers and raped?
