AMERICAblog: "the DNC/Obama folks were downright RNC-esque in their organized effort to amplify this gaffe."

  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
"The McCain campaign has been in freakout mode. They've been knocked off their game. Keep it up."

    EXACTLY.

Never again utter the name John McCain without a reference to his 10 homes, $273,000 butler, $520 shoes, and 9-car motorcades to go to Starbucks.

And never let it be forgotten that Cindy McCain charged $750,000 on her credit cards one month recently.

NEVER LET UP. T-shirts referring to these things must be sold in mass quantities.

Add the talking points in the previous post and McBush will start talking in tongues and his head will shoot off his neck...nail him before the DNC convention and the debates...

Guys with the news today coming out that Hillary wasnt even vetted Im afraid we can kiss Obama being president goodbye. Her supporters are really the key to this election and with poll after poll showing almost 50% of her supporters either staying home or voting for McCain we are in big trouble. It makes me sick to say it but I think McCain is the next president of the USA. Im gonna work my fanny off for Barack but I have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Why is that? Even with the petulent brat attitude holding out with some people, Obama still leads. They have time to come out of their stupor in time but if not, it will just have to be closer than it should be. Remember, we are the ones who are fired up as hell to WIN!

Well I hope all the PUMA's enjoy having the government controlling their reproductive organs then. I don't suppose it'll matter much when the US is bankrupt and embroiled in yet another war.
  • LisaLV711 · 1 year ago
Not true. Only 22% of her supporters are staying home or voting for McCain. Two things 1) Barack can't spend valuable time appealing to them because there is another segment of the population that will never vote him no matter what, and 2) life goes on.
  • mauro7inf · 1 year ago
Yeah, they definitely have been. I'd say this is a bad thing, but the McCain campaign deserves it, if only because his other, actually important gaffes weren't seized with this vigor. Iraq-Pakistan border? Al-Qaeda in Iran? President Putin of Germany? Actually knowing nothing about the iraq situation? The market walk? The list goes on -- the list of actual worrisome things that really should disqualify John McCain from being president. It says something of our culture that what actually drives people insane is that he's rich and owns property (I'm guessing a lot of them are investment properties, not personal houses for himself, but I don't know). The man is a fool. It's really not fair, I think, to attack him for this particular thing, aside from the fact that he also denies that other people are having trouble with their homes (yeah, our economy's great, my friends!). This is fairly ignorant politics as usual. But I'm changing my perspective on dirty campaigning... The general public, the "low-information" voter, to speak euphemistically, is too stupid or apathetic to understand the real deal behind each candidate. This is a battle for who can convince the most "low-information" voters to blindly follow him instead of the other guy. And for that:

John McCain '08. Because no president needs to keep track of how many houses he owns.

Barack seems to hold women in low esteem. It would be a huge mistake to diss Hillary or her supporters at the convention...
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
then how do you explain this?

and what happened to your Bayh prediction?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Drudge says it's not Bayh. Guess the KC sticker shop should cease production? You should be nervous that Hillary's floor managers are on the convention floor to "supposedly" quell their own horde. I'm probably wrong; but, I still smell a rat...

Way off topic. so has the VP announcement schtick been overplayed? Did they wait too long? I think they did, unless it is a BIG surprise.

    no. perfect.

    It is just so perplexing.

    why?

3-5 days of speculation. a big day in Illinois. sunday talk. a week of convention.

    2 weeks, all Obama.
(mccain's only managed to get his houses in, edgewise)

    Ok, now I get it...John McCain 08.

And now let's please look into the servants question. The McCains spend more just on their servants' salaries that McCain's Senate salary and Navy pension combined. How many servants do they have? What are their salaries? Are they all documented?

I can't believe this question hasn't been asked yet. Every VP or cabinet prospect gets thoroughly vetted by a team of lawyers and political analysts. But for the candidates themselves, the campaign and the voting is considered the 'vetting'.

But for that to work, the media has to do its job and find out about the candidates and tell the voters about them - and this time around the media was so infatuated with their man-crush old POW McMaverick that they didn't ask the most basic questions that we ALL know to ask now after so many nominations have been derailed by nanny issues.

Maybe now's the time to ask. Now is FINALLY the time.

Obama probably understands how to out RNC the Rnc more then just about any democrat. He knows how to time things and organize them.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
    downright RNC-esque

That is an evil lie because if the RNC does things they are lies. The Democrats have bent over backwards to make sure they were accurate about how many homes McCain's own. They say 7, but the real number is 13 because the main residence has 5 guest homes on the property and they also purchased a second condominum in the same building to accomodate their children when they visit. And since the mainstream media is on the Republicans side, the Republicans would have made this the headlines for months.

During the 1972 campaign for the presidency, a letter was sent to a newspaper saying they overheard Muskie calling Canadians Canucks. Since at the time the Canuck was the equivalent of N-----, Muskie was thoroughly disgraced and responded with a long speech denying that he never used the word. The newspapers then added the lie that Muskie shed a tear and that finished him. Muskie blamed Hubert Humphrey, his rival for the Democratic nomination. The truth was the letter originated in Nixon White House as did the claim that he cried during his denial speech. My opinion is that the Republicans would have been incapable ot telling this tale if it were true since they are obligated to lie by their contract with Satan. The Democrats did not lie about the number of homes McCain owned and you know very well, the mainsteam media is not on Obama's side. The MSM only picked up the story because it is so flagrant a lie on McCain's part. In fact, McCain proves the point again that Republicans are incapable of telling the truth.

Sigh! Then again, Democrats sometimes fail the truth test too. Obama's campaign slogan of "Change you can believe in", is clearly a lie. The only reason to vote for Obama is the other choice is so much, much, much worse. If the race weren't so close, I would happily vote for McKinney or Nader. Obama doesn't deserve our support but we (the world) can't afford to see McCain in the Oval Office.

OT - Word is spreading that Senator Jack Reed from Rhode Island has been selected as Obama's VP! Secret Service are guarding his house right now.

Anyone hear about this? Was Reed on the list of finalists? I thought Biden was it.

No, I am not making this up! I'm deadly serious. I got it from a liberal blog in RI.

Wonkette is saying that they're hearing that it is JACK REED.

Obama’s pick is Jack Reed. The Secret Service are (sic) began protection on Reed in the last 24 hours and have been crawling around Rhode Island since yesterday.

    Any in-state intel?

It's about time. This gaffe was a good one too.

Since McCain doesn't actually promote his stance on policy (sans off-shore drilling), his normal message of bashing Obama was drown out this week by all of Obama's VP buzz. Even when grandpa was standing on some oil rig for a big photo-op, it was quickly forgotten about. This house thing was the ONLY thing that gramps managed to say that got any traction. It was also the only time McSame got off message (i.e. smearing Obama) and he paid for it.

We better continue hammering home on every other gaffe he makes and stop being weenies about it.
