Jesus Christ- now I'm going to have to hide a copy of US Weekly inside my National Enquirer, which will be tucked into my Weekly World News. Here's hoping I can slink out of the store without anyone seeing how low I've sunk!

Interesting thought.
She's really pimping out that poor little baby. Of the four here: http://www.dlisted.com/node/28067 I have to say the Enquirer one is my favorite. I feel out of the loop now because I hadn't heard about the affair at all before today. Rielle who?

Secession? Could you imagine what they'd say if this were the Democratic Nominee!
From today's New York Times, "she [Palin] was a member for two years in the 1990s of the Alaska Independence Party, which has at times sought a vote on whether the state should secede"
Could you imagine what the Republican machine would say if the Democratic vice presidential candidate were a member for two years of a Party which has at times sought a vote on whether a state should secede!
They call you unpatriotic if you don't wear a flag lapel pin everyday, even though the trust fund babies like Bush who the party loves rarely if ever do anything hard for their country, and even though the vast majority of hard working Americans who are willing to do hard things for their country don't wear a flag pin everyday.
Yet not a peep out of them when their vice presidential candidate was for two years a member of a Party which at times sought a vote on whether a state should secede. If this were a Democratic candidate for the vice-presidency, with a 72 year old running mate who's had Melanoma, they would be screaming about treason and how the country is at risk.
Add: Just look at what is says on the Alaska Independence Party website:
The Alaskan Independence Party's goal is the vote we were entitled to in 1958, one choice from among the following four alternatives:
1) Remain a Territory. 2) Become a separate and Independent Nation. 3) Accept Commonwealth status. 4) Become a State.
The call for this vote is in furtherance of the dream of the Alaskan Independence Party's founding father, Joe Vogler, which was for Alaskans to achieve independence under a minimal government...
The Republican machine would be going insane if this were the Democratic candidate for the vice-presidency, with a 72 year old running mate who's had Melanoma. The propaganda mills would be running 24/7. They'd be calling the candidate a traitor, and I wouldn't be surprised if they would pressure the state's U.S. attorneys to go after him or her. It's breathtaking the hypocrisy.

US Weekly is the precise readership Rick Davis was going after (more secular, female Undecideds) and the McCain campaign blew it.

US Weekly and National Enquirer plus how many more.... will be on every grocery story checkout rack, doctor & dentist offices, hair salon and waiting room across the country. In my experience these magazines are months outdated still sitting out in waiting rooms.
This hits the McCain/Palin target audience.... the low information voter who knows more about celebrities than politics. They may not even look inside but showing that Babies, Lies and Scandals in big text just might get the message across.

Obama v. Palin
A new McCain ad compares a presidential candidate to a vice presidential candidate. Has this ever happened before? Is the frame of the race now Obama v. Palin? Is that the way to elect John McCain?
Palin had budgetary and strategic responsibilities. How did that go? She took the city from zero debt to $22 MILLION, despite raising sales taxes (even on food), winning millions for the small city in federal earmarks.
That's the executive experience we're going to rely on?
KarenMrsLloydRichards
Yep, she OUTSOURCED HER RESPONSIBILITIES so she could go hang out in the mall and meet Ivana Trump at the makeup counter and shoot moose. She learned her lesson well from her masters...

Equivalent: Commander Guy outsourcing his CINC responsibilities to his 'War Czar" (whatever happened to him, whoever he was...?)

Love it!!! Thanks, Bose, for sharing this!! Palin's desire to ban books from her public library in Wasilla HAS to be a first for a major US political candidate.
Well, when this VP thang doesn't work out, at least she has a promising career as a Tina Fey impersonator ahead of her.

The McCain ship has sunk. But of course our Republican-owned media in America are kicking and screaming and insisting it ain't so. The polls will tell the story, though.

The supermarket tabloids are now officially the voice of reason over the kabuki theater of the traditional Pravda media. Now Murdoch will have to buy the Enquirer and the Weekly World News to ensure total media domination for the 2012 elections.

Even though I did not like reading about it, the national Enquirer was right about Edwards since they started reporting in 2007.
I remember reading that back in the 1980s Carol Burnett sued the Nation Enquirer because the NI had lied that she was a drunk. She sued. She won.
Ever since then, the NI has been more careful with what they report. Yeah, it's tabloid, but they have been more right than wrong.
Who knew? And you're right, they are more like REAL JOURNALIST than the "mainstrea media" that is dying with their lack of journalism.

The shame of it is that the people doing the strategizing for Obama are utterly incapable of taking advantage of the daily golden gifts the GOP hands them every hour of the day.

Obama doesn't have to do anything. the blogs are doing it for him, whilst he floats above the melee on a soft, fluffy cloud. I just noticed on Perez Hilton that many of his 'most e-mailed today' stories, including the top two spots, are about the Palin scandal etc. Unlike WMD's, terrorism, hurricanes, etc, etc, this kind of stuff touches the lives of every american many times in their life, on many levels...no one has to convince anyone to care about it, everyone can relate to hypocrisy, bad mothers, kids acting out, airheads getting jobs they aren't qualified for, etc, etc, etc.

7 of last 8 years the GOP has controlled
- The White House
- The Senate
- The House of Representatives
Look where we are!!!
They have utterly failed. They dropped the ball.
- Unemployment is higher - Economy worse - Nation's debt is out of sight. - U.S. reputation around the world is at all time low. - Jobs are going overseas - Corporations (Republican Corporations) are taking jobs out of Country. [HEY, ISN'T THAT UNPATRIOTIC?] - Ultra Rich are illegally taking their money overseas [HEY, ISN'T THAT UNPATRIOTIC?] - GOP Congress has given tax loopholes to ultra-rich even though the gap between rich and middle class has been growing by leaps and bounds.

My goodness, that cover picture of Sarah Palin is ... disturbing. Rather mesmerizing I must say. On first glance she looks like a proud momma but when I stare into her eyes she seems a tad .. aggressive, like she is getting ready to rip out somebody's jugular with her teeth.

And yet, according to someone who was there in Wasilla, the city's operation was run by a city administrator.
Palin had budgetary and strategic responsibilities. How did that go? She took the city from zero debt to $22 MILLION, despite raising sales taxes (even on food), winning millions for the small city in federal earmarks.
