AMERICAblog: The NYT tries to act like a real newspaper

  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Well, at least he's wearing the flag pin. Maybe he'll shuck the diaper next and stop whining about Hillary and actually attack a Republican.
  • vicarpeggio · 1 year ago
Or maybe you won't be an Internet troll next time you post.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
    You're good! keep talking....
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
actually busboy, I think the majority of Americans are enjoying the fact that Obama is focusing on the issues instead of attacking... it brings a needed level of decorum to the political scene that's been missing for DECADES.

he responds very well each time to mccain's attacks, without going on the attack himself... just defending his stance on whatever. It doesn't seem to be hurting him at all if you look at the polls.

as for whining about hillary? umm... I don't remember Obama whining about hillary at all.

I question the Patriotism of anyone who questions Obama's---or McCain's for that matter. And the Media is also to blame for carrying these kinds of stories.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I'm not against sliders; but how the hell could Obama be considered a patriot? He might make a decent president. His wife just a few months ago said that she was finally proud of her country.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
her being a black woman who finally saw one American glass ceiling crash down? that a black man would wind up winning the primary?

yeah, I can understand her feeling proud of her country... and a little less so in the years between 1963 and now.

I guess that them chickens is coming home to roost! BTW, people are offering to pay big bucks for shots of McCain being tortured.
Shit, they could come here every nite and watch me being tortured for free....
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
kinda figured you for the masochist type... being that you keep coming back.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Sounds crazy; but, I like the people on this blog. Lot's of new ideas; and, of course, lots of old ones that won't work.
  • Hangtown Danile · 1 year ago
John should put your posts up on a masochist web sight. He would make more than he is getting off of this sight.
Sickness sells. And is this day and age it sells better than ever.

I think he keeps you and me around for comic relief, Dano.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
This kind of eloquence will not be understood by the flag waving goons of the red states who base the measurement of your patriotic fervor on how big your flag is and how many magnets you have on your SUV or pickup truck. A true patriot stands up to fight to change the mistakes our nations makes, not wave a flag and carry a cross.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    So nicely stated.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
The repugs don't understand the difference between being a nationalist and being a patriot.

there IS a difference... they just confuse one for the other.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
BQID? Take your meds..... just sayin..... You may have become a border casualty.
  • PurgedVoter · 1 year ago
Keep it up Busboy, you are a hero. You always manage to make thinking liberals look good. Every post you make helps me to see how understanding and compassion are clear signs of intelligence! Again thanks!
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I hate when you do that, Mirth...
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    Truth is truth.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
What was the question? Oh, right, the NYT. Well, I sure wish somebody who writes for Wikipedia would tell the story about how the nation's most liberal news paper became a wacko tabloid in small print. "All the news that's fit to spin" replaces the slogan of a once dignified news journal.

The stupidity of the Christian reich.

Tyson Gay broke the world's 100 meter record over the weekend trials. Wingnuts sites are calling this sports hero Tyson "Homosexual". No shit, see the screen grabs of their headlines and ledes.

is the guy gay or not? Not hat it's a big deal; but, what's the truth?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
wickipedia is a totally compromised site. Left and right have infiltrated, changed copywritten material and turned the whole place into a shitpile. Kids in school are using it as an authority and getting "F's" on papers because the info has been reduced to rubbish.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
you sure that isn't just the affects of underfunding 'no child left behind'??
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
The headline is SO WRONG. "Tries?" "Questions of Patriotism?"

Does the fact that John McBush destroyed 4 multimillion dollar aircraft, killed 167 sailors by a foolish "wet start" on the deck of a carrier so he cold give a "fuck you" to another pilot and set off a missile (how did he manage to escape?), ditch the wife who waited for him to come home from Vietnam (managing to get captured when the plane he was bombing civilians with crashed) and was found wanting because of an auto accident, carried on with another woman, rich and 17 yrs his junior, let his wife finance his political career--you mean that's a description of "patriot" and "hero?"

    http://the-peoples-forum.com/cgi-bin/readart.cg...

Give me a fucking break. This country has gone mad.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    as I stated below...

repugs seem to equate 'nationalism' and 'patriotism'.

    they're two separate things entirely.

an example for all the busboy's out there... hitler's followers weren't 'patriots', they were 'nationalists'.

    mccain's followers aren't patriots either.
  • Hangtown Danile · 1 year ago
Hitlers followers were more than just nationalists, they were also socialists. As in Natzi party... National/Socialist...
An example to all the Soundboy_jeffs out there...
I dont know if McCains followers (of which I am NOT) are or are not the second...

O&W; don't bust a vessel over it. Johnnymack's opposite in age and beauty is Ted Kennedy. Two people that you wouldn't want to be the last female in the bar at midnite with. (please ignore the dangling participle). ;-)...
  • Hangtown Danile · 1 year ago
I have gone to bed at two with a ten and woke up at ten with a two.
I have never gone to bed with an ugly woman but have woken up with a few...
Thank heaven I have never woke up with Ted Kennedy...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
That's hilarious! Just remember, there are no women with ugly bodies; only ugly minds.

I’ll believe in Obama’s patriotism after he stands up for the rule of law as dictated by the U.S. Constitution. His wet blanket approach with regard to FISA nailed it for me. If he can’t take a stand on unlawful search and siezure, if our e-mails, fax’s and phones calls can be captured and placed in massive NSA/CIA data bases, if I have to be concerned that after a trip out of my country that HLS is going to confiscate any digital form of media, it wishes and download my families pictures or corporate data, then he isn’t the candidate I thought he was. On balance, there is no difference between a Democrat and a Republican when it comes to the rule of law.
Talk to me Obama after you understand that government works for the people, not the corporate elites or others that have been chipping away at our rights under the law.

The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them…Patrick Henry, revolutionary (1736-1799)

repubs want everyone to "be a good german"
  • bejammin075 · 1 year ago
Who is asleep at Quality Control in the NYT? The title definitely would have been better with "struggles" instead of "tries".
  • Hangtown Danile · 1 year ago
    Nice.
  • Melanie_Denise · 1 year ago
    NYT -- pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
