TWEAK!
We won the election, but we have hardly just begun to embrace truth. The censorship in China may be an interesting story here because, perhaps it is a reflection of our own style of government. What is the difference between banning a website or burying it in the Press? How many would bet that if we knew the TRUTH, a scare commoditiy indeed, we would not be shocked to know the level and intensity of surviellence that occurs here in our own country? Thank God we still have a residual framework of the 1st Amendment, and Free Speech, left standing after eight years of fascist insanity. Freedom of the Press is long gone, with corporate propganda and lies daily emanating from our TVs.
I was thinking this morning on the lessons of the Warren affair. What are they? That the protection of the reputation of one is excuse enough not to admit to a crtical mistake? Is excuse enough not to right a wrong? That the protection of several thousand (said followers) is enough to excuse one's self of admiting an error of judgement? Are we no longer capable of admitting that sometimes we get it wrong? What has Obama taught us? What is the lesson that he shares with us? That a mistake, once made, must be carried through for political gain? Even at the cost of trashing core principles of liberty and justice?
When will we ever learn? When will we ever learn that Justice cannot, nor can it ever, be compromised for the politcal or economic advantage of the few? When we will we ever learn that it takes more courage to admit a wrong rather then protect it for personal gain? Until this lesson is learned, we will never cross the threashold of freedom.

How do I say this? I just find it hard to equate political dissent with pornography. After all, political dissent is a fundamental expression of a citizen's right to address his or her government. Pornography is just an expression of the exploitation of other human beings for money. And web scams are criminal enterprises that entrap the gullible and stupid.
If the $40 billion spent on pornography in the US last year was actually spent on people educating themselves politically, do you really believe that George W. Bush would have ever occupied the office of President?
After all, we complain and ridicule people on this site constantly about being ignorant politically. Isn't free expression of political viewpoints more important than some guy learning another way to get off? Priorities, people, priorities...

Without the Valley of Porn, how would the InterNets pay its way? It isn't as if the Western internet is all that mature. Political information is only one item that only a self-selecting group look for. The vast realm of cyberspace needs to include everything there is and then discover more that there could be. Open Skies!
