Meanwhile, after all this hoopla, crickets from the democratic side of the house.

Poor President Obama.
Try as he might to pander to, and curry favor from, the Republicans, they just don't want to cooperate.
Maybe if Obama throws more members of the Progressive coalition under the bus, the right-wing will see he really wants to be friends.

If everyone so worried about climate change then legalize hemp! It is the best plant for removing co2 and would really help the economy.

This quote from Boehner is particularly interesting: “There are times when the majority just does such outrageous things that you have to find a way to make your point to the American people,” said Mr. Boehner, who began his House career as one of the so-called Gang of Seven, a group of Republican upstarts that confronted Democrats over the House banking scandal and other institutional abuses.
So their solution to that is to provide a budget with no figures or a health plan with no details? With regard to institutional abuses -- what about these aided and abetted when Dubya and his corrupt cabal were commiting them from 2000 to 2008?
Funny, they don't address these questions. Figures.

The only thing Congress serves is itself. It's about "winning" and not what's best for the country. It is incapable of long-term planning and thought. It's systemic and at this point beyond the pale.
We'd have more progress and a better governed country if we just randomly selected Americans to serve by lottery for limited terms. Seriously.

I could go for that. Career politicians brag about knowing the in's and out's....but they don't deliver.
Just got back from a weekend of naked men camping in 105 degree Texas and have missed Missy Moosefucker, and all the fun news. Smartphone out of 3G cell range all weekend. OMG it's been a fabu weekend for us librul commie pinko fags! Caribou is now toast and ready for buttering. Shit I always seem to be out there in east bumfuck at the ranch when the hot news breaks! Oh well. Will take me till Wednesday to catch up! And this shit about Goldman Sachs via Frank Rich today? Delish. Well Possums, back tomorrow...I got some real sweaty stuff to launder.

It's amazing to me that they've chosen to be SOOO stupid. I can't understand their issue w/being less energy dependent on our enemies. Not unless they're in cahoots w/them. Which wouldn't be beyond them.
They've just turned into one giant ball of negativity. Not unless they've Always been this way and I just considered their actions republican policy.

Isn't it funny when the Democrats had 45 senators they couldn't stop Bush from doing anything, but when Republicans have 40 they can shut the whole thing down

I have really lost hope in the democratic party.
