my thought was, the two GOPer suits are on the way to the airport toilet.

Wow, that is some dumb. Why is this funny? John? NOT FUNNY. It's about gay people behaving like 'normal' people, accomodating prejudice, and being 'straight acting.' I hate 'straight acting' people. When I want 'acting,' I go to the movies.

OT....Anyone know if Tina Fey is gonna play Palin on Saturday Night Live tonight?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
No new SNL tonight. I think it's either next Sat or the Sat after. I believe Michael Phelps is going to be the host. And you KNOW there will be some political hilarity....
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
The video also implies that there is some SHAME in being gay. In reality, this isn't true for millions of gay people. And although it may comfort homophobes to think that 'gay' is an underground 'lifetsyle,' it is real life for all of us.

Palin's problem is that Troopergate is far from an isolated affair. As a sharp-elbowed high school basketball player, she acquired the nickname Barracuda and she has been displaying a ruthless streak ever since.

"At the first sign of disloyalty, she'll throw you under the bus," said Halcro. "Once you cross her, you're off the list for ever," warned Hollis French, a Democratic state senator.

As the newly elected 32-year-old mayor of Wasilla in 1996, Palin lost no time in dumping city employees who had supported her opponent. She fired the public works director, the city planner, the museum director and the chief of police, Irl Stambaugh, who filed a lawsuit claiming wrongful dismissal.

There was another row over her treatment of Mary Ellen Emmons, the town librarian, who reacted scornfully when Palin raised the possibility that certain unnamed books should be banned from the library. Emmons was sacked but reinstated after protests.

Enough of this person. I know some crap that McCain and Bush and Cheney and Rove and the Regug party will have to face, but it's not about her, it's about them.

If you look at the other ads, they share an element of normal people and situations having to change to not upset the uptight, snooty republicans. The idea is that hosts temporarily have to do uncomfortable things to keep guests happy.

I understand the objection, but I saw these ads as making fun of Repubs, with the behavior of the residents being considered perfectly fine (except in Republican eyes).

UM.....John, really,,,,,,funny? Perhaps I am missing something......This makes it seem like gays should pretend not to be what they are in front of Repugs.......or is it that when the Repugs are in power, gays won't be able to associate? Whatever, it is kind of creepy.......not so funny, IMHO.

My grandfather always said that if you heard a republican was coming to town to put your hand on your wallet. That was from years ago...I guess the old guys knew what they were talking about.
