AMERICAblog: The Republicans simply have no ideas left

  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
The Grand Old Party better get itself a new resident "big thinker" than "Professor" Gingrich: a bloviating, serially-unfaithful and serially-divorcing pseudo-intellectual. He is what passes for a "thinking man's" Republican in the party and on Faux News.

Reported that Republicans are coming out in droves to vote. Is it Rush or independents or Republicans fed up with the republican party.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
I can't believe that Limpballs has that much influence, he might in Indiana, but NC voters are smarter than that.

If Dems continue to vote in the old Dinos, instead of forward looking candidates, they'll run out of ideas, too, just like Clinton.

overhaul of census bureau = undercounting those who live in areas which typically vote democratic
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
You mean like; "the barrios"? Where motor voter means the reefer pulls up to the DMV and all 50 illegals register to vote for Hillary?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Busboy

She is going to push her way into making her known delegates insist that FL and MI be seated AND that the votes that were cast be counted, thus giving her something like a 200 delegate lead. This IN ADDITION to her now saying the magic number for a candidate to win is 2,209 instead of 2025.

Oh isn't it just about time to roll out fag marriage? I think that is just about all they have left at this point. Everything else the GOP has given us in the last 12 years is total shit. Yup just about time to talk about icky butt fucking and icky men kissing. (Lesbian sex is cool, though, with these simians)

yep, it's just about that time...
several states have "marriage protection" amendments all ready to go...

Are the Congressional and Senate health care considered discretionary spending? If so, I am all for cutting that. They can follow McCain's health care plan and go find insurance in the free market.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Kerry, you are right on the money. That would really scare the crap out of them.

How can Michigan and Florida possibly think they should be counted? They chose to go against the DNC rules regarding the primaries. If they are allowed to be counted won't that encourage other states next time around to do the same. Disobey the rules but it won't matter, we get counted anyway. Clinton and Obama agreed to not campaign in Michigan and Florida and consequently Obama's name was not on the ballot in one of the states. Now Clinton says they should count both states irregardless of Obama not being on the ballot. This woman is determined to undermine the Democratic Party anyway she can as long as she thinks she can win the nomination. I refuse to recognize Clinton. Their true colors have come out. She and Bill are two crooks from Arkansas, just as many in Arkansas have said for years.

If I am all screwed up on my analysis of Michigan and Florida, will someone please set me straight. This has been one confusing issue from the beginning.
  • n2deep · 1 year ago
Wow! You sound like a Republican. I'd set you straight, but I can see you attended public school. Good luck muddling through life, looser.

only in America can a guy who left his wife when she had cancer be taken seriously as a pundit
  • donna_fine_art · 1 year ago
you mean Hilary isn't already touting English as the official language as law? She's borrowed every other damn republican talking point -- why stop now?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago

It is my understanding that somehow it was all Florida's fault, they were pushed into that date by the state legislature, although it is also my understanding no Dem really fought it. MI straight out told the DNC to go to hell.

Stressed out about the primaries, then here's a laugh...... LOL

Two different things. The nulcear option would be exercised somewhere around May 31st when the Credential committee meets. The John Dean thing would occur at the convention, at least that is my understanding.

Here is a good link to explain nuclear option.

If the repug legislature in Florida pushed the Democrats into this mess, is it possible Jeb might have had a hand in this? Knowing all along what a quagmire it would cause.

I just don't think Florida and Michigan, under these circumstances, should be allowed to count. But now the talking heads are saying you "can't have a convention without Michigan and Florida delegate seats being filled." Why wasn't all of this cleared up at the time it happened. They had to have known what would happen. I think we can blame the Democrats as much as the repugs.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Ah, keith is asking howard Dean directly about the 2,209 vs 2025 numbers. Dean is giving some kind of preface to his answer. Oh shit, he didn't answer but said on May 31st we will see what the number is.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Matthews is asking Dean what rules does the Clinton campaign abide by. Dean didn't answer this one either.

Newt: "Republicans are going to chart a bold course of real change ..."

Now Newt is stealing Obama's talking points. Hmmph.

I think his Census Bureau overhaul has to do with ferreting out Communists.
  • n2deep · 1 year ago
Newt's book, Real Change, came out before Obama hi-jacked the rantings of Wright and Ayers. Can't wait to take him apart in the General. white America will not vote for Obama...I don't think Hispanics will, either.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
MSNBC doesn't, either. STupid Nora O'Donnell saying their exit polls show all the talk about Rev. Wright has had an impact on voters in both Ind and NC...

What a fucking tool she is.
  • mike31c · 1 year ago
Well, I do happen to agree that overhauling the Census Bureau would save a lot of money. Those morons spent millions for a computerized system that does not work and won't be ready for the 2010 count with what they DO have. :p

Of course, with issue #1 and #2, I doubt people would actually care about #4.

Didn't the Bug newt and the rest of the repulsive repukes stop President Clinton from attacking Osama when he and al-quadea was in charge @ Afghanistan because they were not a threat?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
wait a minute... where's gingrich's stump on flag burning?

I mean, he's got census, English language, where's flag burning?

or is that already a stupid law they passed... I'm confused and in need of a cocktail.
  • sti · 1 year ago
I think that klg nailed it below:

"overhaul of census bureau = undercounting those who live in areas which typically vote democratic"

This is all about winning elections the republican way.
  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
Yeah because what the Republicans need is.....

Advice from a former Republican Speaker that:
    Cheated on his rich wife
Was forced out of the House due to illegal and unethical financing

Ah yes the very pillar of the proclaimed ideals of the Republicans?
  • n2deep · 1 year ago
What's wrong....your welfare check late this month?
  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
Huh that doesn't make any sense.

Gingrich was forced to resign from the House of Representatives. Some of you people seem to be insane.
  • deniseku · 1 year ago
What is with the gd Hillary bashing ALL OF THE TIME!!! You can't make a single Gingrich bashing post without dumping on her, too????? I am soooooo sick of it that it begins to make me physically ill. If anyone is being divisive it is the left wing blogosphere that supports Obama. I can't come here or listen to anything on my local AirAmerica station or Daily Kos or any of the places where people like me used to congregate without being insulted. I worked to destroy the rightwing scream machine before lots of you were born, but perhaps that is your issue? Hillary supporters aren't real people because we are old people and female. And the old and the female and, especially the old females, don't count. Why am I surprised? I guess I expected better from the people who should be my allies on the left. Yes, this post is just chock full of gross generalizations and pre-judgments, but I am just too fed up to care. Rant over.
  • n2deep · 1 year ago
    General election....Obama hasn't got a prayer (rug)...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Heard a snippet from Hannity's radio show on the way home. What the hell is the "Nuclear Option" that Hillary is reserving for the convention? What's this about secret delegates previously promised? Anybody know?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
AQ-2, thanks for the Nuclear Option link. OK, I understand her strategy. You have to admire her tenacity; while the few things I've heard today only involved Michelle Obama, the millionaire, talk about poverty and deprivation. Nobody in their right mind would associate any of the candidates with failure to achieve the American dream. (even Johnny the gigolo come late).
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
AQ-2, I think that's only half the plan. I seem to recall that John Dean can appoint 25 super delegates at any time between now and the convention floor vote. Maybe this is the nuclear option?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Did Obama remove his name from the Michigan ballot on Karl Levin's advice? Maybe that's where the shinola is going to get sucked into the rotor blades.
