AMERICAblog: The Secret Service isn't doing its job

  • Jophus · 1 year ago
While I don't care that they aren't doing their job for McCain or Palin, I am a bit concerned that they may be doing the same for Obama.

Is this specific for the Republicans or a company wide thing?

One of the local stations here in Atlanta (11alive.com) ran a story tonite about the residents of a suburb (Bear Creek) all getting a letter stating, among many other rants, an intense desire to kill Obama. And in some instances, the letters were specifically directed towards certain residents of the area -- Asians and blacks.

Wish I was in a Battleground State.

I'd go to a McCain event and start yelling out sandwich orders to the Secret Service servant boys.

God, is there anything that George W. Bush touched that hasn't turned into shit? He's the ultimate anti-Midas. I lay the blame squarely on him...the buck stops at his desk, and his ethos and his inability or refusal to reign in the excesses of his party are the root cause of this.

I can only imagine, with fear and trepidation, how the secret service will look away if Barack Obama becomes president. We all have had an uncomfortable feeling about his security long before the stupid asses shouted hatred and made headlines. But I am genuinely mistrustful of the secret service doing their job effectively for a president whose name is Barack Obama.

If the Secret Service can be THAT comprimised in their mission, one has to wonder what else they would do or not do, or facilitate.

I suspect that the SS has been infiltrated just like DOJ, CIA, FBI with individuals whose loyalties are not what they should be.

I'm not surprised that this was exposed by a mere online chat given by Dana Milbank, because you see, this guy Dana doesn't read blogs since if anything is important enough, it will just be brought to his attention. So what does he care if and when this story ever "catches on". Dana, how's that personal honor thing working out for you?

Bush-Cheney politicized the Justice Department and now it's clear they have succeeded in doing the same for the Secret Service as they have gotten them to do their own bidding.

This turn at politicizing our Secret Service most definitely is sick, but it is also incredibly dangerous, not just for the candidates, but for us all.

If now those very people upon who we depend to protect us (Secret Service, Police, Military), then we are a doomed country. I knew the Bushies would attempt such a thing, I just didn't think they could achieve it. Looks like I'm a bit too naive, but let us all hope that something or someone will turn the lights on this disgrace and hopefully have the burn of transparency kill the beginnings of a Police state.

The secret service has racial problems in their ranks. I believe that they concur with the things being yelled. Considering the recent noose incident.

    And then the discrimination lawsuit.

Thanks for those links, they are quite helpful.

What I found MOST disturbing was a segment talking about how raciism is nothing new to the Secret Service.

"The Secret Service is in the middle of an epic eight-year discrimination suit in which an African American agent charges the agency systematically discriminates against African American agents. Fifty-eight African American agents have given statements in support of the suit filed by agent Reginald G. Moore. "

So why should we be surprised by a lax circle of protection around death threats?

Obama will need a new armed service, the SS will have to be dissolved along with the FBI, hopefully. FDR and Eleanor waited in the Rose Garden while G-men searched the White House after his first inauguration. It was a wise precaution that should be included in Obama's plan.

weren't there several instances of aWol acolytes impersonating SS officers to throw protesters out of his events? wonder if it's the same or if they've actually gone over to the dark side

I actuallly understand why. The SS want to minimize the coverage of kooks so copy cats don't get ideas. They want to quell this story. However, I don't understand why they cannot 'locate' these people, that is a crock. They can. I also believe that the SS does not devulge what they are really doing behind the scenes, and they shouldn''t. I imagine everyone of these people that yelled something is being checked, we just don't know about it.

Looks like the secret service has turned into the suckup service of the GOP

I wonder if these are the same agents that let people walk into his primary rallies unchecked and if barack would have been shot at or attacked ..... well there ya go wink wink

Someone painted "Death Obama" on the chimney of an Upper Arlington house that has a yard sign declaring "Another UA Citizen for Obama."

If there are employees of the USSS engaging in this alleged activity they should be fired for violating the Standards of ethical Conduct and brought before the federal bar of justice for civil rights violations. 42-120 months under sentencing guidelines.
I am sure that they would enjoy their time at Lewisburg or Lompoc.
