AMERICAblog: The White House's secret strategy to destroy Rush Limbaugh. So secret that no one told any of us.

  • Older_Wiser · 8 months ago
Ha, Limpballs has challenged the President to a duel--a verbal duel.

He actually has the ego to think that Pres Obama would even appear on his hate-filled show? Fool, please.

    He never invited Bush...

John, you just know that the MSM reads only the rightwing blogs like Town Hall anyway, where they've picked up that idea.
  • grandma · 8 months ago
Republicans are destroying themselves.......but they gotta blame someone else.

Now Rush is challenging Obama to debate on the air........hey fat boy...the debates are over...your side lost.
  • tlsintx · 8 months ago
that idea is just stupid enough to resonate with wingers...

but it doesn't matter. they are doomed. hahahahahhahahaha!

It's embarrassing how the media is now buying this new GOP spin. People have forgotten that Rush said "I hope Obama fails. And I hope his stimulus plan fails" back in January - BEFORE OBAMA WAS EVEN SWORN IN. It is only after it received media attention that everyone including Rush started revising his remarks. The media is now quoting from Rush's CPAC speech which is more than a month after his original remarks. The idiotic media continually falls for GOP spin and cooperates with them. All the cable outlets now say Rush only disagrees with Obama's policies but deeply respects the man - EVEN THOUGHT THAT IS *NOT* WHAT RUSH SAID!

The magic negro srikes again - LOL

These people can dish it out but can't take it. Sounds like the bullies I encountered growing up, especially in high school.

Lush thinks he's the supreme being? I smell Karl Rove all over this. Backfire anyone?

    he's up shit creek now.

    Wolcott:

During its Rovian/Fox News heyday, the right tried to make Michael Moore's mug the face of the Democratic Party, hold Democrats responsible for every egregious thing Moore said or did. It only partially succeeded because Moore was too independent an operator to be seamlessly morphed with Al Gore and John Kerry. But Limbaugh bleeds Republican red. He has been glorified and embraced as the perfect Ganesh by Newt Gingrich, CPAC, and the Bush family. He is the face and mouth of the conservative movement. A mouth that has swallowed Michael Steele whole, and has room for plenty more.

The DNC has a cute website up titled I'm sorry Rush. If you go there it gives you a template to write an appology to Rush Limbaugh in the name of one of three Republicans. You get to add your own PS.
    Here's mine:

    Dear Rush,

I’m so sorry that I called you an idiot. My comments were not even about you. What I meant to say is that you are worthy of enormous respect. Yeah, sometimes I speak generically – seriously I wasn’t even talking about you. Everyone knows we Republicans like to say one thing and do another, right?

You and I both know that in reality, you simply want President Obama to fail in this time of economic collapse. How can I disagree with that? Please accept my sincere apologies, oh great leader of the Republican Party. Can’t wait to be on your show soon! XOXO

    Sincerely,

    RNC Chairman Michael Steele

P.S. My son wants to grow up to be just like you so does my chinchilla and all of my neighbors and friends. P.S.S. Did I mention how my son wants to grow up to be just like you?

    Rush, the Magic Nazi
    Lives on the air
And stuffs his face with human flesh
    To prove he really cares

    Rush, the magic Nazi
    Lives a comfy life
'Til someone he has lied about
    Embeds a kukri knife

    Little Rushy Limp-Bow
    Wants to be loved
But all he gets is what's deserved:
To HELL a big, HARD shove!
  • missime · 8 months ago
Rush is proud of himself right about now. He is loving it. Here is Rush when no one is watching: "WhooHoo!Percocet or Oxycontin, Please. I am the head of the GOP. WhooHoo, I won, I am the head of the GOP. The GOP is even saying that I am their leader!!!"

We, Dems, love it because the GOP will commit suicide (self destruction) as long as they hold Rush as their leader. Go Rush!

well obviously this is the case since the president doesn't have anything better to do with his time.
the media has taken to complaining about gibbs answering questions that directly reference various media figures, because clearly they have no control over the questions they decide to ask and thus were sucked into this grand plan to elevate these figures, and distract the media from investigating totally reasonable questions about obama's socialist tendencies or whatever else their talking points said today. why does obama hate america? more on that story at the top of the hour.

Guys, please do not post comments that includes long words stretching 100s of characters. Such as writing "HAAAAAAAAAAAAA" and continuing for 5 lines of text. You screw up the page formating for everyone. Those kind of comments will be deleted.

    Neat trick, that.

  • Blueflash · 8 months ago
Pat Buchanan just claimed on Hardball that El Rushbo has an audience of 30 million. That would be one out of ten Americans - men, women and children - listening to his show. Only a bit less ridiculous than the numeracy challenged MSM's usual figure of 20 million.
  • Lee270 · 8 months ago
By not saying a word to anyone about his plot to destroy the republicans only proves how diabolical this Obama is. He also secretly changed all the video tapes of Hillary's sniper filled landing in Bosnia to make her look foolish. He arranged for the cutsey video maker to ride with Edwards in order to tempt him into a tryst. He arranged for the economy to go in the crapper after McCain said "The fundamentals of the economy are strong". Also by choosing a white bread male VP he knew it would force McCain to choose a VP that would scare anyone to the left of Attilla the Hun. In fact, Obama is so clever, that by not having a plot to elevate Limbaugh to the head of the Republican party only goes to prove there was a plot to elevate Limbaugh to the head of the Republican party and force Steele and Gingrey to genuflect before him and kiss Rush's ring. That Obama is one clever sum bich.
  • missime · 8 months ago
It wasn't rush.s ring that they kissed... It was his ...I'm sorry, I don't think he wears a ring...Does he have a ring?
  • duffyb · 8 months ago
Obama started this a few weeks ago when he told an audience they need to 'stop listening to Rush.' He knew what he was doing-he set this whole thing up and now the GOP has even less credibility than before!

Obama needs to debate the winner of the leadership of the Republican Party. First the GOP must decide who their leader is. If Rush Limbaugh wins the debate with the other GOP politicians then perhaps Obama should debate him. But only if Rush proves he is the leader of the GOP as he claims he is.
  • HereinDC · 8 months ago
Debates were before Nov 4 2008.

  • Where's My Bailout? · 8 months ago
Rush only debates straw men. He doesn't have the intellectual capacity to debate a bowl of Jello. The Jello would win hands down every time.
Contrast that with Rachel Maddow that takes on the wingers 4 at a time all by herself. I love it.

Mr. Jeff Christie has now brought down his profession one more rung on the Entertainment ladder. Thanks to his wacky Morning Zoo-type character "Rush Limbaugh," "disc jockey" is now solidly between "rodeo clown" and "birthday party clown."

    Pity.
  • Broken · 8 months ago
Rush really is just an entertainer. Rush is a one trick pony. He wishes he was a birthday party clown.
Rush's tiny twin brother Fat Bastard is a movie star.

Since they have cut back on foreign correspondents, the newschannels just yammer about what's happening in Washington.

I'll bet there is something that is happening overseas that will affect us someday. I wonder what it is. Maybe CNN or somebody could work on that, rahter than just "who's up, who's down."
  • Matt · 8 months ago
The GOP is clearly doing this to themselves. The media may be asking the questions about Rush, but these various GOP "leaders" don't have to give all those crazy answers. Media Matters made a good compilation of the whole Rush as leader thing. You can watch it here:

Obama mentor Saul Alinsky’s handbook Rules for Radicals outlines the techniques used by this administration to try and break any link between Rush Limbaugh’s influence and the GOP- The President knows well that marginalizing and demonizing his strongest opponents could intimidate the fainthearted into supporting or withholding criticism of his policies and increase his chances for success. Alinsky would have likely couched this in different terms, but it's basically a divide-and-conquer approach. The goal is to single Rush Limbaugh out, pick him off, and pull him away from influencing the GOP.

And while Mr Steele was correct to point out that Limbaugh is primarily an "entertainer", the Democrats certainly have no justification for condescendingly depicting a mere "entertainer" as leader of the Republican Party. Yes, Rush Limbaugh is and "entertainer"- an influental one, who became highly successful in the free market because millions of people want to hear what he has to say.... but you don't see the GOP putting him on the ballot, do you?

But what about Al Franken… have they already forgot? Franken’s radio show was a flop because few wanted to hear his boring anti-American drivel, but that didn’t stop the DNC from running this bozo for a Senate seat… and they’d have done the same for Chris “Tingle” Matthews if polls hadn’t revealed widespread revulsion at the thought.

Has Franken done anything in his life other than “entertainer” and author… same as Limbaugh? So, a failed entertainer is OK for Senator… but a successful one (who is a major threat to Obama, apparently) isn’t allowed to even have influence?

We conservatives, Limbaugh, and the GOP would be well-advised to ignore these malicious hypocrites, and don’t take the bait. Obama looks desperate and insecure going after Rush, so just let him go down with his ill-advised policies… shouldn’t take long now. No need to give this charlatan want he wants by bickering amongst our allies, while Obama proceeds with his demolition of the country.
  • HereinDC · 8 months ago
Franken has been to visit AND entertain / USO .... the troops many times over in the Middle East,...and that means Iraq.

Limbaugh has NEVER visited the troops in Iraq.
  • JamesR · 8 months ago
Whoa - There are Reaganites still? I voted for Reagan when I was young and ignorant. I have recovered and grown, and become informed. Also I have become better at discerning the difference between what is and what seems to be.

A Reaganite? Damn. I am supposing that means allegiance to what Reagan said he did, or said he was for, rather than what he really did and who he really was?

An excellent actor, whose last gig was looking like a 'Reaganite.'

Ran to "shrink" government, who did the reverse. Left us a big ass deficit. Started the deregulation fiasco that's cost us all bigtime, betrayed the country by trading arms for hostages even before he was elected. That Reagan? Please.

Franken is indeed more like the Reagan who-never-was in that he is an excellent communicator and popular. An anti-Limbaugh, who has won a close election fair and square. Who has in fact risked his life many times to entertain the troops overseas.

Obama is in a separate league from Reagan: Qualified and principled. If members of his administration are experiencing open schaenfreude over the implosion of the mess that has become today's GOP, cry me a river. "Saul Alinsky?" LOL. Is there a point to your post other than showing that you are bitter and wish to assign blame simply to the most convenient?

That fat pig entertainer and his Mini-Me Glen Blech (both drug addicts) tell their listeners all the time that Hollywood entertainers have no business telling anyone else their opinions on the issues of the day. Hypocrites! Rush is the reason the Republicans lost. The more he is connected with them the better for the Democrats.

Larry King said Rush Limbaugh was on the DNC payroll. I thought he was kidding at the time.

Sound reasoned speech is the best antidote for Rush's white privileged male walrus spew. Funny how the repubs cry lack a boy scout lathered in eggs in Drudge's basement when confronted with speech.
  • ComradeRutherford · 8 months ago
    Well, it's pretty obvious!

See, Obama and Steele are both black. And since Rush has already proven that all blacks in America make up a cabal of their own, and since Obama is President of the whole USA, and Steele is merely head of the RNC, that means Obama outranks Steele and Steele has to do exactly what Obama says. Obama says 'jump' and Steele says, 'how high?' See?

So because Obama is President and Steele is RNC chair, that automatically proves that Obama ordered Steele to make those statements against Rush.

There's no other explanation, Rush said so!

well, only one way to get to the bottom of this- let's check our marching orders.

"Top Democratic operatives are planning a stepped up campaign to promote Rush Limbaugh as the public face of the GOP — an effort that will include recruiting Dem governors to make this case on talk shows, getting elected officials to pen Op eds arguing it, and running more ads pushing it, a senior Democratic operative says.

Key leadership staff in the House and Senate, and in all the political committees, have been encouraged by senior Dem operatives to push this message wherever possible, the operative says.

“I’m encouraging everybody to go out and say this,” Paul Begala, the well-known Dem strategist, just told me by phone. “I’m hot for this. Let’s get this out every way we can.” "

And it was the Obama White House that invited Rush to CPAC, so he could misquote the Constitution.
