AMERICAblog: This is only one of John McCain's 8 or 9 (or 10) houses

  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
McCain's sycophantic lil' buddies in the MSM keep referring to the Sedona "cabin." As if he and Cindy were Jed and Ellie Mae Clampett.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
Sounds as if they've all been to Newport, RI, where the Vanderbilts and the other moguls built McMansions that they called "cottages."
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Just look what mobbed-up Hensley drug distribution $$$ will buy! What war-hero/victim wouldn't want a piece of that?
  • Kelly2 · 1 year ago
It would also be great to know what kind of staff they require to keep up all of those homes. This home alone looks like it would require a professional gardener and or landscaper, probably several maids and who knows what else on staff full time. And that is just for their main property.
  • GrMtGirl · 1 year ago
More than one could possibly beleive would be needed .... and guess what? Chances are they are probably all illegals being paid under the table ... you know no social security, taxes and all that stuff the rest of the working people have to pay.
  • HelenaMontana · 1 year ago
Mmmm, I would LOVE to own that house. Of course, an exorcism would have to be conducted before I took possession. And all that tacky furniture and clutter would have to go.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
OK, he doesn't matter. He and the rest of them will be quickly removed just like the Russians are doing with the neocons and their schemes. Time to push back, folks. We will not become serfs to them again.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Whatever the neocons say about Obama on FOX, he shot "nuttin but net with the troops" so I can trust that. Get a good feeling.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
All filthy rich elitists look the same to me.

Help those people, Ty Pennington! Their accessories are tacky!
  • WDemDem · 1 year ago
B-b-but Obama's in that exotic foreign land vacationing. Not many of us can afford to travel to a foreign country with all those dark-skinned people. Obama must be an elitist. Cokie says it's so.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Ron Paul's wife, Carol, is very sick. Admitted to a hospital last night. I think she'll be alright.
  • WDemDem · 1 year ago
Chances are he won't have an affair while she's there.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
OK, I know you meant McCain. Edwards, maybe, with all the cheating going on.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
They're saying it's a heart condition but I'm getting diabetes as the main cause.

That's an impressive collection of Native American dolls in that picture with the rust sofa. But I'm sure they're all reproductions, because they couldn't possibly be culturally ignorant enough to display antique artifacts stolen from Native Americans. Right?
  • dad · 1 year ago
    ... my friends ...
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
But Obama was born in Hawaii. That makes him exotic...

...even though it's the 50th State.

    See?
  • 1billinnj2 · 1 year ago
he is a common folk, he lives a simple life, he is one of us. dreaming of marrying a millionaire some day. lol. do you think he can really feel your pain. what a crock. i think many in congress are millionaires. they are so out of touch with the real working people.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
That outdoor spa area looks very exotic, are you sure that really isn't Hawaii in that pic?

    LOL
  • ClayPotts · 1 year ago
The exotic spa is definitely McCain's. Look closely, you can see Vicki floating in it.

"The house shows the owner." - G. Herbert, 1651.
  • hardeknox · 1 year ago
That's Cindy's money. McKept does okay, but it ain't cheap to live in DC. Obama's been a little too politely presidential and diplomatic about this subject. He's being continually defined by the opposition, without firm response. This sunk Kerry. What will it take to generate some guts into his campaign?

In a written statement, she described McCain as "a good friend for over 30 years." But that friendship was strained in the late 1970s by McCain's decision to divorce his first wife, Carol, who was particularly close to the Reagans, and within weeks marry Cindy Hensley, the young heiress to a lucrative Arizona beer distributorship.

The Reagans rushed to help Carol, finding her a new home in Southern California with the family of Reagan aide Edwin Meese III and a series of political and White House jobs to ease her through that difficult time.

McCain, who is about to become the GOP nominee, has made several statements about how he divorced Carol and married Hensley that conflict with the public record.

In his 2002 memoir, "Worth the Fighting For," McCain wrote that he had separated from Carol before he began dating Hensley.

"I spent as much time with Cindy in Washington and Arizona as our jobs would allow," McCain wrote. "I was separated from Carol, but our divorce would not become final until February of 1980."

An examination of court documents tells a different story. McCain did not sue his wife for divorce until Feb. 19, 1980, and he wrote in his court petition that he and his wife had "cohabited" until Jan. 7 of that year -- or for the first nine months of his relationship with Hensley.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Also, don't forget THE FACT when McCain and Hensley filed for a marriage license he wasn't legally divorced from his wife. As much as McSame claims to love "Traditional Marriage" he illegally obtained a marriage license while married to another woman. POLYGAMY MUCH?
  • rextrek1 · 1 year ago
When McCain starts his "I'm the Regular guy BS" ...OBAMA needs to POUND home the Facts...How many "Regular" Americans have 10 homes? Even Obama has a Modest home for being a Senator with a family....OBama is definitely MORE the REGULAR guy here!

Republicans are trying that same old tired attack line from Karl Rove. Try to hit your opponent with your weaknesses and destroy their strengths. McCain KNOWS his weakness is ELITISM therefore he projects "elitism" as something horribly bad and tries to laughably paint Barack as elite. Thank God, Barack and his family are black! The elitism crap just blows back all over the McCains, who are truly elite. The old Republican bag of tricks ain't workin' so much!
  • NYChick · 1 year ago
<Thank God, Barack and his family are black! The elitism crap just blows back all over the McCains, who are truly elite.>

That's silly - are you saying that you can't be black AND elite in the US? That's just not true. Besides, I've met the CEO for AmEx, and that dude stinks of elitism - oh, and he's black!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Oh, but for every elite black there are 1,000 John and Cindy McCain's and you know it!
  • legal_alien · 1 year ago
cowboyneok. As the white component in a mixed race family of 6, I really would personally appreciate your apology for that comment. It's degrading, for you, for ethnic minorities, and for Barack Obama's campaign. It also devalues your otherwise percussive posts.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I'm sorry you have taken my post wrong because I, in no way, am degrading other races. I'm pointing out the fallacy of the
whole "elite" system. I'm not saying you can't be a truly "elite" person in every conceivable way, I'm saying there is a CASTE system
in America and it is VERY HARD to get into that system if you aren't what those who MAKE THE RULES think is acceptable.
I am saying you can attend Harvard Law School and do everything right but it is STILL hard for you to get into a "certain country club"
if you happen to be of a certain ethnic persuasion. I don't AGREE with that system, but you can't tell me its just as easy for your
mixed race family to join every country club in America than it is for the John and Cindy McCains of America. I don't make the rules, and
I fight to CHANGE the rules for the better!

I believe you mistakenly believe I agree with the caste system and I DO NOT! If you've read my posts in the past, you should know better.
Finally, if I wrote anything to make you believe I was racist or promoting that ignorant caste system crap then MY APOLOGIES.
I am not racist, and do NOT support caste systems.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Yes, but the McCains NEED all those homes! What with the growing homeless population they have to have even BIGGER properties, or all the riff raff and "little people" might be able to get close to them! BLECH!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
How misleading is that article? "Architectural Digest visits Senator and Mrs. John McCain"

    article SHOULD BE:

"Architectural Digest visits THE MANY HOMES of the Senator and the NEWEST Mrs. John McCain!"
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
This is probably why he's so confused all the time. He's trying to remember which house of his he's got to fly back to at the end of the day.

    John McCrazyCain IS an elitist.

But that photo of him and McDruggie - she looks like his daughter.

Kinda when bush #1 would pose with his wife - Babs the other Elitist - she looked like his mom!
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
The Sedona land is worth a cool million dollars an acre.
The location is worth more than the buildings, and they call it a 'ranch'.
13 acres is not a ranch, they sure as hell dont run cattle there.

    It is an 'estate'.
  • piniella · 1 year ago
    John,

This is a great post because it punctures the GOP meme that their candidate is a "regular guy."
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago

  • moondancer · 1 year ago
Gee. Now I see how McCain's one of us. We both have nine houses, but eight of mine are for birds. One difference, even though I was a good student, daddy was a salesman not a second gen Admiral. It's tough being a legacy and celebrity is it Krusty?
  • WestCoastian · 1 year ago
I noticed that the photos were from 2005. That's when he still had hair and it was before his "get up and go", got up and went.

I just can't picture him in the spa off the master bedroom. I couldn't close my eyes long enough to even pretend he was attractive. lol

where are the conservative talk show hosts, Limbaugh, Hannity, et al, on this one? I think this goes to McCain's character, morality, and human decency. If he had a unfulfilling marriage, and getting a divorce, he could have preserved some simblance of honor towards his then Wife, Carol... This man is a selfish, cold hearted adulterer and so is his wife, Cindy. I have been vacillating between the two candidates, but now its Obama for me. Thank God for the internet. THere is no place for these people to hide anymore. Freedom of Speech Lives.
  • nronesquid01 · 1 year ago
We tend to believe more than we probably should when we enter into this thing called Internet. The fact that some Left leaning media hack has decided to slam John McCain about what he has or doesn't have is old hat media tricks at best. At worst it show a general lack of disregard for anything that remotely looks like the truth.
Many people in this world have problems in the state of marriage. Why is it always the guys fault for anything that might go wrong with that marriage?
I would say if we are not sure of anything about our candidates we should ask all the right questions and then make a educated decision. Do some of your own investigation and then bring that information forward for peer review. If it is treu about any candidate then go get them, otherwise leave well enough alone...ED

One of several houses purchased with the 100's of millions of dollars they're worth and McCain calls Obama 'elitist'? Give me a break!

    McCain is the quintessential Neo-Fascist.
  • juliesa · 1 year ago
They don't own that home any longer.

They also don't have 10 houses. For example, they sold this house and bought two condos downtown, and combined them. The two condos are on the records as two houses, but it's one home.
  • murdoock_B · 1 year ago
What bothers me is the homogeneous content of Cokie's remarks about "elitism". The Zeigeist is getting manufactured by the media, including Cokie's outlet: NPR.
The MSM, not just FOX, churns out and reinforces the 24 hour news cycle. What you hear on the 6AM news on the east coast, goes on the evening news on the west
coast, 15 hours later. What Cokie foreshadows in the wee small hours, gains momentum like a cyclone rolling over the hours and landscape. McCain doesn't need
to pay for ads. He has talking heads rolling out his message for free. "The media is the message."
