John - Do we really know who this woman is? I mean, yes, she may very well live in Wasilla. But is there corroboration of her claims?
This famous librarian who will not respond for example. I have received several bogus e-mails listing the books Ms. Palin wanted to ban. But Snopes tells me what I suspected, the list is bogus. More a generic list of books evangelical christians find objectionable (so they don't have to read these books do they?)
Unless we want to commit the same crap as the republicans--and I would like to think we can win without stooping to their level, we need corroboration.

So now a woman from Wasilla isn't permitted to write her own op ed commentary about Sarah Palin? I'm sorry, but opinion columns are not the same as Republican smears. Republican smears are when fake women from Wasilla write opinion commentaries.
This letter is not only legit -- Kilkenny has been interviewed by NPR and for a NYTimes article. Just thought I should add this for the doubting Thomases.
There are several version of this. This one is from a woman who lives in Wasilla.
There is another one from a man that I have not verified as real. However, from what we know to be lies told by Sarah and McCain and from my experience living in Wasilla for a time during her "reign" as mayor. The e-mail rings true.
They are not super bright people to say the least. They have a huge drop out rate for school.

There is a web site of a woman who lives in Wasilla with the text of this email message on it. I went to the site about a week ago and read it, but didn't think much of it (it was late, guess I was tired). I'll have to comb thru history for the url.

I read this woman's web site about a week ago. What did I miss. Duh.
It is not a very attractive portrait of Palin however most of that letter will be discounted as "personal view" and that the writer by her own admission is not liked by Palin. Rather than a damning insight into Palin (which I think it was) it will be twisted into the proverbial "sour grapes letter" by the Republicans.
Now where is that rare journalist that will take certain facts from this letter and turn it into a blockbuster read of straight facts.

I've been wondering too. Apparently, the story goes, she never mentioned which books to the librarian, just "what if". But I bet somewhere there is some talk by her about books she doesn't like, I bet she told someone or sent an email or something. Boy, wouldn't that be telling though?
BUT there are no council agendas, minutes or other key city documents.
This is all a SMOKE SCREEN.

ANYONE who knows about running a small town knows that the town manager runs the government with a cadre of fulltime civil servants. NOT the mayor.
And I'm talking small towns. Wasilla doesn't even show up on the radar screen.
Moreover, the entire state of Alaska has the population of two cities the size of Bakersfield, California.
So, basically, Sarah Palin is Mayor of two Bakersfields . . . for the last year-and-a-half or so.

This is really incredible. I'll be even more horrified if it's not over now for Palin. If all true, this is remarkable. We need to get info like this about candidates all the time. The press needs to be there in the places where someone like this woman is not.

I have watched the attacks come from left and right since McCain Picked Palin as His Running Mate. First its about Her having a Down Syndome Baby, Then Her 17 Year Old Daughter is Pregnant, Now you want to say she spends Money Like Crazy. She can't be know worse than the people we have in Congress right now. Our Country is Destroying itself from within. Congress is always giving theirselves a Pay Raise( They Make almost $200,000.00 a year yet they Throw a fit about giving The Military and Veterans A Pay Raise. I have a Great Idea ,why doesn't Congress Take a Pay cut and use that Money for other issues like our Social Security? Our Deficit is that other Countries owe us, We are Importing more than we are Exporting ( how many times has there been a recall from something madein China?). Common Sense says that if you are buying More than you are selling then You are going out of Business soon. Make people go through a budgeting and financial class before buying a house. Common Sense says if you Make $20,000.00 a Year you can not afford a $100,000.00 House. I am 100% Disabled Veteran that has never used my VA Loan to Buy a House. I looked and was offered several that were more than I can afford. I Said No.
As My Wife says When I see the Change I will believe it.
McCain took an Oath as an Officer to Defend America against all enemies Foriegn or Domestic. He lives by that Oath. Our Country is Destroying itself from within. Just another person trying to destroy Palin but it's not gonna work. She will be in the white house one day. Dems are so afraid and threatned by her that is why they are trying to destroy her. Don't know of any other politician right now that has the charisma Sarah has.
