Please join me in asking the U.S. Senators to OPPOSE the nomination of Senator Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State--To The Honorable:

Please vote "NO" on the confirmation of Senator Hillary Clinton as the next U.S. Secretary of State. I think Senator Clinton should play a significant role in an Obama-Biden administration; however, I do not believe that Senator Clinton would be the BEST person for the country as Secretary of State in an Obama-Biden administration at this critical time.

With all the challenges facing our nation, this is NOT the time to be playing the same old Washington political games. As you know, the Secretary of State should be one of the President’s closest and most trusted advisors.. With two wars in the middle east looming over our heads, it will be the Secretary of State’s responsibility to manage more than 30,000 employees in the State Department, handle foreign affairs and diplomatic with 180 or more other nations, including negotiating treaties for the United States. There is little time for cabinet-level discord or questions about trust, loyalty, being a team player, money deals, etc.

I appreciate the President-Elect's gesture; but what is more important: World leaders should have confidence in the Secretary of State's leadership; however, there is a worldwide perception that the relationship between Senator Clinton and the President-Elect is tenuous. In addition, other than the Role of First Lady, Senator Clinton has limited management and foreign policy experience for this cabinet position.

There are many highly qualified professionals who would probably "fit" better as Secretary of State at this time, including some women--such as General Ann Dunwoody, former Vice Admiral Patricia Ann Tracey, former Lieutenant General Carol A. Mutter, Colonel Martha McSally, Lieutenant General Leslie Kenne, Voce Admiral Vivien S. Crea.

Now is the time to put country first
