PALIN TO PLAY HERSELF ON 'SNL'

.....the Sarah Herself. She has already OK'd it. She's booked. It's confirmed. Done deal. Sketches are being sketched as we speak. She - eyeglasses, haircomb, designer jacket and trunkful of gosh-darns, golly-gees and gol-dangs - will be on "SNL" Saturday night, Oct. 25.

    http://www.nypost.com/seven/10102008/gossip/cin...

I guess.....seeing as she can't handle a REAL press conference or shows such as Meet The Press....that leaves comedy.

The SNL writers will have an easy week, Palin creates her own material just by being Palin.

Bob Herbert has a good column today on the Repubican Party:

The lesson for Americans suffused with anxiety and dread over the crackup of the financial markets is that the way you vote matters, that there are real-world consequences when you go into a voting booth and cast that ballot.

Voters in the George W. Bush era gave the Republican Party nearly complete control of the federal government. Now the financial markets are in turmoil, top government and corporate leaders are on the verge of panic and scholars are dusting off treatises that analyzed the causes of the Great Depression.

It’s not just the economy. While the United States has been fighting a useless and irresponsible war in Iraq, Afghanistan — the home base of the terrorists who struck us on 9/11 — has been allowed to fall into a state of chaos. Osama bin Laden is still at large. New Orleans is still on its knees. And so on.

    Voting has consequences.

Thank you so much. What a great way to start my Saturday, feasting on the poetry. (I got into the "Poem of the week" archives and couldn't pull myself out!), And then, all those hilarious cartoons! For the first time this week, I am starting my day in an uplifted frame of mind.

"I miss the old Cindy McCain. The one who used to go to rallies and sit huddled in the corner looking as if she thought the audience had a communicable disease. Now, she’s right up there on stage, standing behind her husband and making disgusted faces when he rails on about the opposition....."

..as if the audience had a communicable disease......so true !!

You mean Cindy "bobble head" McCain. She reminds me of those bobble statues things people put on their car dashboards. You know the ones, the head goes up and down all the time. Watch her, there are days when I think her head is going to cause a neck fracture.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
When you see Cindy McCain acting all "redneck -like" and cheering with that anger look or that venom rabid attitude of the people in the crowds....you can tell it's fake.
She has money....and always had alot of money.....and when she "acts" all huffy and mad and shows that meanness....you know it's an act.
Come on.......women who wear $300,000 outfits don't act all gritty and down to earth.
(Even the women on The Housewives of Orange County don't act as phony as Cindy McCain)

Ms Thang Sugarmama McSame is NEW money. She is decidedly NOT old money. Old money sends their kids to the Ivies, the Sisters, and fine schools where they are given the tools for "noblesse oblige" through liberal thinking professors. I don't know where Ms Thang went to college. But I can assure you of one thing. She is nothing more than rich white trash. White trash is NOT about how wealthy you are or how poor you are. Any beer heiress who donates money to stop MADD from their work is white trash.

Media Matters on McCain's relationship with Liddy:

    * 2008 news reports that mention Obama and Ayers: more than 4,500.
    * 2008 news reports that mention McCain and Liddy: fewer than 100

Liddy, now a conservative radio host, has never expressed regret for this attempt to subvert the Constitution. Nor has he developed any respect for the law. ... Yet none of this bothers McCain. Liddy has contributed thousands of dollars to his campaigns, held a fundraiser for McCain at his home and hosted the senator on his radio show, where McCain said, "I'm proud of you." Exactly which part of Liddy's record is McCain proud of?

While Obama has gotten lots of scrutiny for his connection to Ayers, McCain has never had to explain his association with Liddy. If he can't defend it, he should admit as much. And if he thinks he can defend it, let him.

    Watching Obama on CNN.com rightnow
    Obama is fired up!

You've all seen the video from yesterday of the woman questioning McCain about Obama being an Arab. There was some confusion about whether she added the word "terrorist" or not.

Today's Minneapolis paper clears it up. After the rally, the woman was unrepentant. "You can't trust Barack Hussein Obama because he is a Muslim and a terrorist," she said.

So no, she didn't say it to McCain at the rally, but did to reporters afterward.

i've got a sneaking suspicion that for most of these wingnuts, "arab/muslim terrorist" is a euphemized n-word.

2 stories on the llink when you watch the Obama rally:
    1. Rage rising on the McCain Campaign trail
    2. Panel: Palin abuse power in Trooper case

Can't find any positive news about McCain/Palin
    Boo hoo
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Do you all see the clip of the one black person in the audience at a McCain rally who asked a question?

He was a plant....he was actually a reporter.
  • mgardener · 1 year ago
I have been thinking about what McCain/Palin have been doing to the campaign, the hate, the racism, the nastiness.
    It ends this weekend.
The biggest pal of terrorist is GW BUSH ~Who let all the terrorist- OBL family and other people out after 9/11 before they were cleared by the FBI?
GW BUSH and by default the Republicans.

WE, SUPPORTERS OF the US, of truth and freedom, need to hold Mccain/Palin accountable for their words if ANYTHING happens because of their inflammatory remarks.
We need to stand up to these bullies and make it clear that they are responsible for their words and actions. NOW. TODAY.
Anything said needs to be proved. No more innuendos.
Our country and this election is too important.

Sarah Palin is talking about "clean coal technologies" and her stupid followers all bray and moo like the asses and cows they are. From wiki:

"Major politicians and the coal industry use the term "clean coal" to describe technologies designed to enhance both the efficiency and the environmental acceptability of coal extraction, preparation and use,[1] with no specific quantitative limits on any emissions, particularly carbon dioxide.

It has been estimated that commercial-scale clean-coal power stations (coal-burning power stations with carbon capture and sequestration) cannot be commercially viable and widely adopted before 2020 or 2025.[2] This time frame is of concern to environmentalists because, according to the Stern report, there is an urgent need to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and climate change."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_coal_technology

"Clean coal" is typical of Republican programs that sound good but are not feasible.

.....actively promote debt as a way of life and create delusions of wealth in people who really are not all that well off. And it worked for about eight years until Mr. Greenspan's froth turned out to be a bubble of South Sea proportions. So here we are, worse off than we were eight years ago and far too deep in debt to finance the next recovery. Considering the prospects for real economic growth and real increases in income, we will have to wait a good long time before we venture to borrow and buy again.

So, when the sanctimonious pundits of the business press talk about how silly we all were to borrow so much, just remember that they were not saying anything of the sort while it was happening. Console yourself with the thought that your debts helped to drive our great capitalist system to new heights of GDP. You saw little or no benefit from it but you did it and ...put... country first!
