I think Hillary was correct when she said this should be a campaign based on George Bush. The current Obama campaign ad that says that McCain has resorted to gutter politics of old is not as effective as it could be. This country is mad at, and sick of GWB, so the ad should say, "McCain is using George Bush and Karl Rove politics." In every Obama campaign ad that responds to a McCain ad, GWB and Karl Rove should be mentioned by name. I live in a very red area, and the people HATE George Bush, altho they will not vote for Obama (he's too "different," don't ya know,) but they are very cognizant of the idea that Karl Rove & GWB have divided this country.....so, the Obama campaign should throw in those 2 hated names every chance they get. From my lips to Obama Campaign's ears....sigh.

"It's a fricking presidential election in the middle of a war and a recession -- and that's what the GOP nominee is throwing out? It's an embarrassment to this country."
Joe, you've said it all.

Sure sorry I missed Aravosis' post blaming Hillary for Obama's future failures. So if he loses to McCain, it's her fault. If he wins, "see, we told you he was the next messiah". Give me a fucking break. Move on from this damaging rhetoric. You're doing exactly what the GOP loves, dividing the democrats. You're whining. You won't win over any Hillary supporters like this, and believe me, you're going to need all 18,000,000 of them.

So everyone, Matthews, Scarborough, and even Olberman, et al are talking about this ad. Some think it is hilarious, some think it is beneath mcshame. But.....they all continue to show the ad over and over and over. Free advertising so to speak. But the media pundits do this all of the time. Whenever a new ad comes out they do it to death; good or bad. "Oh, isn't this ad too much," or "isn't this ad terrible and not something mcshame should be doing. " But they run it again and again and again. Keith is as bad as any of them at this.

I agree completely with what you say but only wish to point out NOTHING is BENEATH McShame. He is lower than a snake; he has no vision, no morals, and no honor. And frankly I am sick and tired of people talking about "his service" and his claim to being a "war hero." Any claims to respect on these 30+ year-old grounds has been vitiated by political shenanigans and crooked dealings and all the time he has been sucking on the public teat. He is a disgrace.

Come on, McBush Rove's pawn? If so, he's a willing one. My view is that he's in this shit up to his ugly eyebrows.
You should know by now he's no "man of principle." And neither are Dems (we already know about Rethugs) who greeted Ted Stevens yesterday with back slaps and sympathy...(of course, it was on a "personal" level, not political--what bullshit). A crook is a crook is a crook...

Absolutely! McBush3 aka John McCain is as dirty as they come.
And how about how old Ted Stevens was handled with kid gloves by the (still Bush) Justice Dept. This veritable leader of Alaska's leading crime family should have been taken out of his office in handcuffs and allowed to cool his heels in jail like any other common criminal. ( Is it somehow a better level of crime when committed by a member of congress or the republicon administration?) And crooked old Ted shoul;d be sentenced to the fullest possible sentence on each count. 5 yrs x 7 counts 35 years. I don't wanna hear about hes old or infirm. He's a crook he belongs in prison, and a real prison, not a club fed! What ever happened to "hard labor?"

Obama is absolutely right. If you look closely, you can see McSame constantly attacking him, and hardly talking about the policies. The country is suffering thanks to McSame's hero, Bush, and all he can do is attack Obama, with ads featuring Spears and Hilton. McSame's campaign is of the low grade, Rovian type, with nothing intellectual to speak about; just like the 2000 Bush campaign, when McSame was the victim. If McSame is catering to his base, then we can conclude that the base must be half brained. It looks like the rethuglican base has low standards when it comes to their candidates. They bought Bush and Rove's crap in 2000/2004, and it looks like they have not learned from their mistakes. It is time they realized they have to raise the bar!

We got time to sit and chit and chat with the Breakfast TV talking heads: Ludacris. Can Obama get distance from him? After all, he said Luda was on his I-pod (this is one time it's good that McCain doesn't have an I-pod or even know what that thing is) and listened to him all the time. Doesn't Luda just make Obama seem TOO black? It's just making real, normal Americans have traumatic flashbacks to the Rev Wright. And Louis Farrakhan! And isn't just scary that Obama will paint the White House black. Speaking of the b****, Hillary's on for Tuesday night, so guess she won't be the running mate. But Wolfson says anything can happen between now and then--ya never know. And it'll cost Obama all the women voters. Will McCain going negative be good for him? Sure, the Obama = Britney ad is silly and makes McCain seem cranky, but, hey, it's pretty funny and that Kerry as windsurfer ad was considered silly, too, but it worked! Obama is just like Kerry in that way: elitist, and way too out of touch with real, normal Americans. So, yep, Obama's got associations with the street thugz, but he's also too lofty for most Americans.

We have enough thugs in Congress and on Wall St., why do we need any on Main St.? As an adult you may see a lot of rap as "protest" but what about kids who take it literally? They aren't as discerning sometimes. And BTW, in case you think I'm just an old racist fogey, I never liked the way women were (and are) portrayed by white rock groups, either. Cock rock never did a thing for me...even if it had a good beat.
OK, here's Ludo (not to be confused with "Luda"):
http://www.metrolyrics.com/love-me-dead-lyrics-... which incidentally is my 17 yr old grandson's "favorite song." "American Woman" was a far more effective metaphor...even though as a woman, I despised it. Women should never be blamed for men's failures and bad judgment, just their own.

Karen does not express misogyny directly; she is using free indirect discourse to cite Ludacris's epithet for Hillary Rodham Clinton.
How about pulling that one? Or doesn't "Luda" have enough money and rage against women yet?

What would you expect? They call themselves republicans - in the full meaning of the word with all its implications, connotations and degradations. They literally have no morals. Look at what they have become. Most people don't even take them seriously. I can't even imagine the kind of person who would associate with the likes of Karl Rove. Way to creepy.
I hope Britney's collecting a usage fee every time McDrooly uses her name.

Karl Rove - pathetic. What next? Obama took candy from a baby? He broke a window with a baseball when he was 11 and ran? He forgot to take off his hat when he went into a building in 1983? Wait, he stepped in crack yesterday....................

Let's see- Britney and Paris are famous for their sexual exploits, drug and alcohol use, poor parenting skills, etc. It is doubtful either could fill a coffee house to tell us their plans for changing the country. How is their popularity the same?

Has anyone read about the bear they shot in Minnesota? Poor thing had his head stuck in a plastic bucket, so instead of anaesthetizing him, they killed him. Damn I'm pissed. There'd better be more to the story than I read. It's McCain's fault! Isn't it?
