Oh I think he is the current Bob Dole. The GOP in secret is furious at Chimpy's party trashing since 2000. They're thrilled about their profits but now see that the country is ready for an uprising. I think they dumped the Mormon and Huckleberry because they knew that that would mean total defeat. I think McSame was a default setting. I think they are just gonna let this ride out with Obama and then try very hard to destroy him for four years blaming ALL of Chimpy's crap on him.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Oh my God you are SO right on this...I've been telling my friends the same thing, they knew Morm and Huckle didn't stand a chance in the general and so McSame was the last best option, figuring this was going to be Dole all over again. They are hoping for Obama (probably secretly MORE hoping for Clinton, but I digress) and for the next 4 years, that's all we are going to hear about, how everything bad in the economy and the war and the infrastructure of our country, and healthcare, and jobs, and oil prices and EVERYTHING is going to be "see, it's because you elected a Democrat, put a Republican in and we'll fix everything".

I always hated the post Reagan years because when something was going well in the economy, of course it was Reagan's policies that did it, even 10 years out of office...I wonder how they'll spin the post Bush years?

My brother in law used to be the vice chair of the GOP in New Hampshire. He
quit in 2004 over Dubbya's bullshit. Recently he was laughing his ass off
because the party SO wanted the religious right white trash fundies to vote
GOP year after year UNTIL one of them had the audacity of actually thinking
he could run for office...Mike Huckabee. For years he kept saying that
inviting in this southern trailer trash...he called them "KMart Republicans"
    ...would eventually kill the GOP.

He got it just about right I think but it took a while. The Kmart Klan hates
    McSame.

Extensive examination of McCain seems to be very skimpy. Where does McCain actually stand on issues? McCain skips votes in the Senate to mask his record. What is McCain's real beliefs?

Hybrid cars wont do any good. We'll squander our remaining resources on that. That's the left's solution while the wingnuts are drill, drill, drill.

What's going to happen is a huge spike in violence and then a massive population crash.
  • lauren1959 · 1 year ago
Did you see his complete stupor when he was asked why insurance will pay for Viagra but not for birth control? He said he'd have to go back and research before he could address the issue, after at least an 8 second embarrassed look (a pregnant pause?).

There was a woman on the local broadcast news yesterday morning about a promotional a company was having with $1.50 gasoline. She was sitting in a big yellow Hummer while being interviewed. And some local fundie churches are praying here for lower gas prices.

I really don't know how much more of the dumb I can take.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Praying for lower gas prices?

Oh man, how much lower can people take religion?

It was wise for McCain not to vote on the FISA bill. He didn't need to: Obama cast his vote for him.
  • DCinDC · 1 year ago
McCain hides from answering the issue with his non- vote. Where does McCain stand on FISA?
  • DickCheney · 1 year ago
you are kidding, right? How could he oppose any tool that "fights terrarists" and allows him unrestricted spying on political opponents?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yeah, McCain ditched the Medicare vote, because he didn't want to piss off Grover Norquist or Bush and didn't want a negative vote on his record because he's trying to con the seniors.

I don't think there's any question where he's at on FISA.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
If it gets really bad, I will probably go to the homestead in a rural area of my state. It's really going to suck. My bush voting brother better stay here. There is no way I will allow him around.

It'd be very biblical if you two would have some kind of Cain and Able scene.

McCain on social security yesterday: "I cannot tell you what I would do..."
    (Ah, its a secret?!)
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
He'd dissolve Social Security and Medicare to pay for his Wars.

Obama no longer stands for change. How sad for everyone who was looking forward to a new America. I hope he can regain his footing and stop being afraid to stand up to the assholes. But this was predicted, wasn't it?
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Most of us are hoping he's just lying to get elected at this point.

Dean with Olberman on Obama on FISA...is he THAT cagey?

    http://writ.news.findlaw.com/scripts/printer_fr...

OLBERMANN: Senator Obama‘s position on this confuses me. He loathes the telecom immunity, he says that he would fight it immediately and he would monitor it carefully as president. The vote though is next week. He better do that part of the fight quick. If this gets in through the Senate, there‘s no way to get it out again, is there? I mean, the history of this nation in terms of lost civil liberties is pretty bad about restoring them.

DEAN: Well, I spent a lot of time reading that bill today, and it‘s a very poorly-drafted bill. One of the things that is not clear is whether it‘s not possible later to go after the telecoms for criminal liability. And that is something that Obama has said during this campaign he would do, unlike prior presidents who come in and really give their predecessor a pass, he said, “I won‘t do that.” And that might be why he‘s just sitting back saying, “Well, I‘m going to let this go through. But that doesn‘t mean I‘m going to give the telecoms a pass.” I would love it if he gets up on the Senate floor and says, “I‘m keeping that option open.”

OLBERMANN: In other words, let the private suits drop and get somebody in there who‘ll actually use the laws that still exist to prosecute and make the actual statement and maybe throw a few people in jail.

DEAN: Exactly. And it looks to me, as I read this bill and talk to a number of people in Washington familiar with the bill, some who are involved in the negotiations, and they say, “You know - we just didn‘t think about this issue.” So, as it goes to the Senate, maybe Obama‘s got a shot to take, you know, a future look at this thing and not let them have the pass that they think they‘re getting.

OLBERMANN: That would be a nice symmetry to that—that everybody had been so lulled into a sense of complacency because of the Bush success on this that they‘ve left out anything that protected anybody legally, if you had a president who actually believed in the Constitution....

I also read a statement yesterday from Pelosi's office that she is NOT interfering with Conyers attempt to declare Rove in contempt...

I think we are seeing alot more "divide and conquer" tactics these days...or backpedaling as the case may be.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I never realized it before, but McCain's an idiot.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I realized that a few months back. He's also got that old man pig headedness and temper, too. Very dangerous situation.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Kind of funny.

It sounds like Clinton donors are used to having their asses kissed, and they can't understand Obama's methods of operation.

But tensions were apparently high enough that the Obama campaign felt the need to address them. In a separate interview, a major Clinton fundraiser said a small number of her compatriots continue to feel upset about their diminished status.

"For better or worse, the Clinton people are used to being courted, and the Obama folks have just a different philosophy," said the donor. "Some of the Clinton people have gotten demanding. Some of them wanted titles, and I think that is totally inappropriate. Why should any Clinton person get to jump ahead of any Obama folks? They want jobs, they want recognition, they want to be in the paper. They want to be considered for an ambassadorship. It is all about ego."

The one-time Clinton backer added: "I happen to think the Obama folks are right. Politicians should not have to spend so much time pandering to the bundlers or donors. But if you are used to that kind of treatment, one might misinterpret that as not caring about their needs."

Who would Jesus vote for? We had to ask the question, right? Everyone claims to know. Just not sure about this one. I mean really. Can they Guy even vote? He’s not American. And I doubt whether he would be allowed into the US in any case. Think about it. Long beard, wears a dress and a Middle Eastern passport. But what if He could vote? Who would He vote for? Does He even care who you vote for? Let’s speculate. It’s all we can do. We have no direct line and He doesn’t have a Facebook Group Page or radio show. Sorry Hagee, Pat and gang – neither do you have him on your “5 friends” list on your phone. I gave it a shot – but not sure I got an answer. http://angryafrican.net/2008/07/09/who-would-je...

First of all, Jesus HAS to be on the 'no-fly' list, because anyone claiming to be Jesus should not be allowed on a plane just in case he is about to give his life for ours sins again.

Secondly, it doesn't matter who Jesus votes for... its not who votes that counts, but who counts the votes.

and finally, if you really want to know, ask W. God seems to talk to him alot and I'm sure he would tell you Jesus would vote for John W. McBush.
  • angryafrican · 1 year ago
Haha - good one! But I am sure those are just voices in John W. McBush's head.

Conservatism is dead. Stalwart GOP stall wart Sen. Craig sounded taps, with his flag at half mast.

    John:
Thanks for keeping this blog up. I am starting to wonder if YOU are a McCain spy. I am starting to see a trend. Lots of people thought that Obama was the real thing. So much so that they trusted him to do the right thing. They are saying that they are not voting for Big Love now. So thanks from the wingnuts! Keep up the good work! You may just get McCain in the White House yet. You can expect the untraceable payment to be on the way, as soon as McCain is in the Oval Office.

McCain 08: He so loves his country he renamed his french fries. Then he pierced his McNuggets, (another fast food staple), with a flag lapel pin. Say hello to Voodoo Patriotism. By their fruits you will know them, people.
