Sorry, John, but come clean? And destroy what little is remaining of their miserable campaign?

Ain't gonna happen...that's asking unethical turds to admit they have no ethics, no morals, or whatever you want to call it.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Yes, they see themselves as heroes who are saving all of us from the evils of the Democratic party.

everyone asked why was the mccain campaign making its last stand in pa when down by so many points, when there were better opportunities then a state that has gone dem for the last 20 years, now we know the answer, dirty tricks gop style, the only way the wingnuts can win, by appealing to the lowest denominator possible in americas soul.
nine days until the sun shines again in america and i can't wait!

    Great comment.

I have been for an absolute 110% accounting from the very day FOX NEWS - MCCAIN pushed this crap! It is why all of us should push back against any concern troll who whines, "but she is mentally ill!" Yes, she probably is but the Republicans took advantage of her and used the media and pumped up the Republican Noise machine to try to turn the election using this "unstable College Republican McCain supporter." Granted, she is mentally ill but there happen to be plenty like her, as well, that make up a large part of the most hateful and extremist part of the Republican Party. For all David Frum's whining about the "angry left wingers" how about all the race baiting and KKKristian Talibangelicals in the Republican Party? This is a FAIR and EXPLOITABLE ISSUE and should most definitely be used to get to the bottom of McCain campaign's filthy part in it.

All the above is true cowboy, and it's going to come home and haunt the GOP. We're watching the GOP unravel and it's amazing. The wonderful thing is the embers they'll put out of the fire and trash heep are all rotten to the core. THEY CAN'T REBUILD THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FROM ITS PRESENT BASE!

To survive, they must change. If they change, they cannot survive.

    agreed, as usual, blackwolf! ;)

Oh.my.god. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is campaigning with Sarah Palin in Florida. PUKE!

She's on the TeeVee right now.

She is trying to make Palin out to be some sort of Saint. Gag... idiot.

What about Drudge and his red siren? Who gave the story to him early, from where this was picked up by the media?
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
He got it from a comment on Hot Air. He first linked to an unverified comment on Hot Air that didn't even a link -- just a comment in the comments section. I happened to look at Drudge right at the same time.

I think they were trying to get it on the evening news.

Someone should check that scapegoat, I mean, girl's bank records and see who paid for her trip to PA.

Also, Hugh Hewitt was on the television at 5:15 that evening pushing it -- very soon after Drudge put it up.

You can see my comment from 5:15 on the 23rd on the pathetic website wizbang:

    http://wizbangblog.com/content/2008/10/23/break...

Someone said that the Pittsburgh station that first reported it is owned by Richard Mellon Scaife (I'm not sure about that).

Someone just yelled, "Osama!" while Hasselbeck was inciting the crowd. Nice, Elisabeth. You are a perfect Eva Braun.
  • mermaidart · 1 year ago
I'm scared and it's not even Halloween yet! I pity her children.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Elisabeth is coming across as a little smartaleck. I think she should be glad "The View" doesn't let her go off too much without in her words, "interrupting her." Who is this "they" Elizabeth keeps referring to? We are Americans, too, Elisabeth. In fact, this VETERAN did a helluva lot more for their country on submarines than you did with your hateful divisive appearances on the "The View."

Whatever answer McCain would give on this would be a bunch of bull anyway.

  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
How are PA papers and TV news covering this?
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
they are probably hiding behind the World Series...
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Also from TPM, McCain's Penn. Communications director that was involved in pushing the Todd story line to teh press was also involved in sending out those "holocaust" messages to the Jewish voters... and the guy who untimately sent them, claims he had sign off from the campaign...
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
John and Sarah both need to apologize for even talking to Todd before the full investigation was done, they could have issued a statement, an apology is needed asap.

O/T, Lieberman is trying to come back to the Democrats

  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Lieberman can go to Hell, in my humble opinion...
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
Lieberman is in Hell he can't come back to the Democrats and the Republicans(except McCain) don't want him.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Lieberman is a man without a party. His political career is ruined (it if ever meant anything to begin with).
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Lieberman should be shunned and his seats on committees should be stripped... he hasn't been working for his state, or the country... he's been working for the absolute worst elements of the GOP...
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Some have suggested that Lieberman should be kicked out of the party which would be fine with me. However, I don't know if there is any way to do that. Dems can strip him of committee assignments and probably exclude him from caucus meetings, but I think he determines his party membership via voter registration.

They're just trying to save us from a "nightmare communist period" in America.

    See?
  • PeteWa · 1 year ago
If we had an active press, rather than a group of corporate gop "journalist" apparatchiks, then maybe we would see some movement on this story in places other than blogs.

    O.T.
My youngest daughter and her husband are on the way out to the Obama rally at CSU in Ft. Collins CO. They canvassed yesterday so they got VIP rope line tix and hope to shake Obama's hand.
She says it looks good for Obama in Colorado except for Rethug dirty tricks re voter suppression.
  • ewastud · 1 year ago
Considering how much the McCain campaign hyped this story from the very beginning, I have to wonder whether the Todd hoax was a McCain deliberate campaign political dirty trick from a much earlier stage, and perhaps manipulated or helped put Todd up to this trick. Even if it did not persuade many voters to actually vote against Obama, the incident could be pointed to after a rigged election by the media as the reason for the loss and distract us from the real reason -- our dangerously corrupted election machinery, much of it electronically operated and in the hands of corporations who are GOP patrons. That is the "elephant" in the room no one wants to talk about.

I'm gonna teach you a lesson, white girl. I'm gonna put a B on your face. You know what B stands for? Bokononism, the fictional religion created by the visionary, Kurt Vonnegut. But Bokononism is a religion of peace, so I'm gonna scratch it backwards on your ignorant countenance. Have you learned your lesson? Then let it be as a frontlet upon thy brow.

This is not only a form of election fraud, it's also a hate crime, I've even heard some call it an act of terrorism, I'm not a lawyer but, certainly it could be argued that it's terrorism of a kind similar to if a suicide bomber tried to blow them self up, but the bomb failed to go off. I'm sorry if this sounds incendiary but, the potential for wide spread damage even destruction to our election process was there, and this was undeniably the intent. This is to say nothing of the possibility for triggering hate crimes against African Americans and Obama supporters, thankfully nothing happened.

Frankly, I hope that the prosecution goes all out on this one, and the stiffest penalties are issued to everyone who was involved. Republicans need to know that they can't get away with this kind of thing. It seems to me that in the republican camp there's a culture that views voter fraud and dirty tricks as if it's all just frat-house pranks, this has got to stop. If its just bad apples, then lets throw all the bad apples in jail.
