AMERICAblog: Time/CNN polls show Obama leads in Ohio, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania

So much for PA as McCain's "Do or Die" state. THE new "Do or Die" State: Florida.

They bussed in school kids to McCain's rally in Ohio????

    MSNBC:

A local school district official confirmed after the event that of the 6,000 people estimated by the fire marshal to be in attendance this morning, more than 4,000 were bused in from schools in the area. The entire 2,500-student Defiance School District was in attendance, the official said, in addition to at least three other schools from neighboring districts, one of which sent 14 buses.

Are you saying that Joe the plumber missed the (school) bus?
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
the "short bus" didn't wait for him.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
and the point of that was to bolster the "appearance" of support??? because only a tiny percentage of those kids are actually of voting age... and of those only a tiny percentage would be actually voting for McCain....
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Adds a whole new dimension to the "Where is Joe" video.

It's even more funny watching McCain yelling to a bunch of 13 year olds about Obama "redistributing your income."

Chuck Todd has some inner compass that tells him to balance things out, and so he does. It's annoying, especially when he works so hard to bend facts to whatever his daily prejudice is. Sometimes it's in our favor, sometimes not. But it's irksome and I've stopped trusting him.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
so they're now pushing the "can we really trust the polls" meme....

they've been setting the stage for a McCain "steal" for the last couple of months... the question is, will they actually go through with it ... or have enough prominent R's jumped ship to make it too unbelievable to pull this time... and if they do go through with a "steal" for McCain are the masses ready to forcefully push back???
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
    Good questions.

I know that if Prop 8 passes here in California and the bigots nullify my marriage, I will be forcefully pushing back. I've never been arrested in my life, but I would disrupt and absolutely ruin any mormon or catholic wedding involving people that donated to Prop 8.

    THAT is a promise.

Wow, 6 pts in NC! And about 20% of us registered voters have already done so.

I think NC may be a winner for Obama; a squeaker, but what the hell--a win is a win,.
  • shell · 1 year ago
Doesn't McCain realize that the more he (or his running mate) open their mouths, the higher Obama's poll numbers go? To win, he should take a 2-month-long nap. That might do it. haha

Obama maintains big lead in Minn.

The Democratic candidate holds a 19 percentage point lead over Republican McCain, the Minnesota Public Radio News/University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute poll finds.

    http://www.startribune.com/local/33570374.html

That's his biggest lead I've seen here so far.....wish Tuesday would hurry up and get here !!!

I think viewership would the same whether the race is close or a landslide. If a landslide, people will like to see the carnage anyway, and if Obama wins it will be a historic event, as historic as they come. Millions will be dancing in the streets around the world. Viewership will actually probably be higher with an Obama landslide, and will stay extremely high for days after Nov. 4. If McCain wins, everybody will sulk and go back to watching South Park.

I don't care if the Corporate Media disses the polls.

I worry about Dems being overconfident.

This will hopefully keep them fired up.

Spread the message I have been telling all my contacts:

    DO NOT BECOME COMPLACENT.

Work as hard as if we were behind.

Barack Obama is filling stadiums. John McCain is filling junior high school gyms....

Pretty noticeable too when it says "GATES open, etc." I guess McCains should say, "pulling out the bleachers in the girls gym at 2 p.m., rally starts at 2:15 sharp, no street shoes on the gym floor"
  • Milli · 1 year ago
    Exactly lol.

And the faint smell of moldy gym socks emanating from the locker room just wants to make you vote for him all the more.....

B-b-but Pat Bigcannons just said that all the independents are going to McCain and there's nary a gap anymore (in his high squeaky annoying voice of course).

The Muhlenberg tracking poll of Pennsylvania shows Obama with a thirteen point lead today: 54% - 51%.

    That should be 54% - 41%.

The GOP better not steal this election.

The majority will not allow that. NOT THIS TIME.

More Americans are awake, and will vote. The days of the GOP stealing the election and getting away with it are OVAH!

I pray OBAMA wins AZ, and GA. The good people of AZ cannot be real thrilled with McKRAZIE at this point, and Chambliss is just a piece of, whatever.
  • fdeblauwe · 1 year ago
Nice cartoon about Arizona getting close in the polls and the very different treatment of Pennsylvania ("battleground state!" even though Obama now about 11% ahead) and Arizona ("safe for McCain" even though McCain now only about 6% ahead) at the Reasons To Be Cheerful, Part 3 blog...
