  • dogeatdogi · 1 year ago
Technical difficulties with Rachel Maddow my ass. Isn't she IN STUDIO!!!
  • scooter in brooklyn · 1 year ago
she said she was in ithaca
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
I am assured if anything untoward happened to Rachel's program, she would be shouting from the rooftops. So, it really must have been a problem with MSNBC.
  • Erin_O · 1 year ago
Just heard that Palin's next interview will be aired on Tuesday. With none other than Sean Hannity. No lie.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    yeah...saw that earlier.

One liar to another...Hannity & Palin
  • Ellie · 1 year ago
When she loses the election, maybe she can be his new sidekick.
  • Savage8862 · 1 year ago
I was reminded of 2007's Miss Teen South Carolina ("U.S. Americans are unable to do so because Osama, Iraq, and every such as...") as I watched Governor Sarah Palin being interviewed by Charles Gibson.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Todd keeping an eye on Sarah?
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Christian Fundamentalists believe that the husband is the head of the wife.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Yep...and a woman is not to assume a position of 'authority' over man
  • Ellie · 1 year ago
Sarah scares the crap out of me.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
C'mon, Ellie, nobody scares you ;-)
  • Ellie · 1 year ago
    Sheeeeeeeeeeeet. LOL

Crazy fundies who think jesus rode a dinosaur scare me.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
Jesus rode an ass, that makes him a democrat.
  • moseao · 1 year ago
You're absolutely right when you say that Palin is a human shield. In fact that might have been part of the plan all along for McCain. If he can keep an attractive woman in the news for 90% of the time and only show his crusty old self when it's convenient for him then he can make his poison easier to swallow. This is actually a good strategy. Hey, it works for beer commercials! The bonus is that he's even got her taking bullets for him already. If she can take some of the heat for him, then he can redirect the efforts of the democrats away from him. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS! McCain is running for president, not Palin, and it's McCain that people will vote for should they be convinced to do so by the way this plays out.
  • Toklat · 1 year ago
And as an Alaskan I feel duty bound to point out that Todd WAS indeed a member of the Alaskan Independence Party for some time. The Independence party is a party who's main purpose is to work for the secession of Alaska from the United States. Not exactly mainstream conservatism, hey?
  • martha · 1 year ago
You are so right on. This is scarey. Todd will be president when McCain drops dead . But Mika and Joe, our MSM, will continue to talk about poor Sarah, "she has 5 children" so she is qualified to be president" , and the idiots will vote for McCain/Palin. But, so will, the NOT idiots. Why would any smart person, moral person, vote for them. I don' t get it. .
  • bish8 · 1 year ago
Time for me to vent. When I watched the Republican convention, I saw a slew of fat, white rich guys going crazy over someone they didn't even know anything about. Since she hadn't been vetted, she could have been a terrorist and they still would have been cheering for her. This race shouldn't even be close if anyone has any common sense. And you know what? I am not afraid to say it: I think she is a terrible MOTHER too!
  • martha · 1 year ago
Thank you for venting. I'm a mother of 4 and she has used her disabled child and her pregnant child as props in her ambition and it makes me sick.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
what was your tip off? The pregnant daughter? The "emotional child abuse" charges a judge threatened her with? Or the very real possibility that her son was given a choice of enlistment or the graybar hotel? Or having her water break a month early in her risky pregnancy and still continue to: give her speech, hop in an airplane and take an 11 hour trip with layover/ flight change and drive another 45 minutes to her small hospital knowing that it was a premature birth of a child that had Down's and might need special attention during and after delivery?

And yes martha's right... have to add a couple to the list.... using her children as a campaign props. Extra negative points for using her baby and her daughters pregnancy as sympathy cards.

Which one of those little things would make her a terrible mother?

and no, it's not sexist. I'm speaking as a mother.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
There is something fishy about the husband. Why does he sit at meetings with her, when he is not an elected official? Why does he play such an important role in her official life? Will he also attend meetings in the WH and other places, if she is VP. If she happens to become President, would he sit at the Oval Office too.
This sounds like a couple from hell.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
He doesn't trust Sarah the liar??
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Donchya know... he's just being a good xtian husband, everyone knows that the little lady can't handle those kind of decisions....

Another reason could be that he's not "just" a worker bee drilling for the company, he maybe a bit more important in their hierarchy.

Or he could be a controlling asshole.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Come on John, you know the wingnuts will argue that it isn't a big deal, as Cheney's been the shadow President all along...

I just watched a bit of NBC's evening spews to see what was being reported on the hurricane.... Afterwards got a bit of "analysis" from Roger Simon on how Palin did in her interview with Gibson... he must not have been watching the same thing I was, he thought she did fine... Ugh.... they then went on to another segment to "dissect" the latest ad spats .... Jesus what a waste of time... they went out of their way to keep any issues or real analysis out of it.... no details of what is or isn't behind each claim.... a bunch of worthless soundbites meaning nothing...

I haven't watched "the news" on TV for years because it was so much empty air.... it's gotten WORSE.
  • liberaldemdave · 1 year ago
i find it interesting, that as important as todd seems to be, i have yet to see him interviewed or speak at a campaign event. hell, even "cindypills" gets to talk!
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Cindy has now said that her houses are off limits to discussion.

What will Todd Palin say about the Alaskan Independence Party? None of our business?

    Good luck.
  • moseao · 1 year ago
I'm worried Todd might be the new Cheney, as in a Machiavellian behind-the-scenes puppet master. He definitely looks the part at least.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    I don't think he's smart enough.

Looks like a moron to me.
  • moseao · 1 year ago
Cheney looked like a moron to me too and that didn't stop him. Bush actually is a moron and that didn't stop him. Intelligence isn't a prerequisite for power trips.
  • watchington · 1 year ago
Furthermore, sorry -- he really isn't hot.

Sorry. He looks like a dumb hick, and not a particularly hunky one.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Hey,.... Sarah and Todd both worked for a living in the private sector. They're the only two in the race that average people can relate to. Joe Biden gave less than $400 on average to charity for the last 4 years. 1/3rd of one percent of his income. We aren't huge charity donaters, but we do better than that every 2 weeks. Most democrats don't realize what true cheapskates their leaders are. McCain gave 26% of his income to charity last year. Over $100,000.00..
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
That's because he's living off his wife's megamillions.

    $100,000 means nothing to him.

And Obama and his Wife worked in the private sector also---did much better than Todd (with no education) and Sarah (with 5 schools in 6 years for a communications degree) too.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
First time I've seen a "communications" degree pay off 'bigtime' She's almost as good as Slick Willie and Ronnie Raygun.....
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
it helps when you've got friends and donors like Ted Stevens and Abramoff
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
what's 100K to a man who takes 300K per year from the taxpayers in the form of a 100% disability, his senate salary, and his social security.... plus he has the added bonus of free medical care on the taxpayers as well..... not to mention income from his parking lot.... and his wife's $100million fortune....
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
And his mothers oil money is coming his way one day.
No worries, unless McCain dies first. which is possible...

    Then hello Washington Snowbillies!

There goes BUSHYBOY spewing out numbers without sources.....
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
It's all over the news today. You can trust me as your news source as you are obviously living in a root cellar.....
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Todd has reason to NOT trust Sarah with other men, he is just protecting his property rights.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
I wouldn't say Todd is hot but he's cute enough. I can't help but wonder, Does he go to meetings? :-)
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Yeah.

Story says he inappropriately sits in on her meetings.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Charlie Gibson may be in deep doodoo for misquoting Palin on her Iraq/God quote.

Is it time for a moratorium on all these Palin Family horror stories? This could go on forever...

My bet is the investigation into Palin's firing scandal will be stopped in the next couple of weeks.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Probably.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
It's already over. The guy was her x-BIL, a political appointee who tasered his own 10 year old son.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Was he brought up on charges of tasering his child? If not, on what grounds should he be fired? For being a bad father? Or for being mean to Palin's sister?
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
they investigated all the palin's charges against him and suspended him for 5 days (this happened BEFORE Ms. Palin was governor) .... the palin's weren't satisfied with that so once she was in the governor's chair she started pushing to have him fired.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
The brother in law WASN'T the one who got fired.... It was the guy that wouldn't fire him at the Palin's request that got fired.

and the brother in law was a trooper not a political appointee.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Don't confuse Busboy with the facts.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I guess Fox News got it totally wrong again....
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Step son, and the charges are fruit of a nasty divorce. Wooten is no role model but was cleared after all charges were investigated. Arm yourself if you want to contest facts.

Don't go squiggy, BB, Sarah might even be able to cure your heterophobia... just sayin......
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Now that you mention it, her safety goggles are kinda sexy.

  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Hope they are praying to some other god than Bush this time. Strange, Ike was the last Republican that governed with an impartial hand, a message from beyond?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yep, the Repubs ignored his message.

I wouldn't want to see Todd Palin as president, but he could possibly have a career in low-budget, gay-for-pay porn: "Republican Husband Power Bottoms" or something...
