WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton's assertions that she leads Barack Obama in the popular vote are a stretch, at best.
The New York senator is using such claims to shore up supporters and help justify why she's still in the Democratic presidential race despite trailing Obama in the number of convention delegates earned in primaries and caucuses.
The argument is supported only by using dubious math on two fronts: by excluding several caucus states won by Obama and by including Florida and Michigan primary results that the Democratic Party, to date, is rejecting.

The contrition, tears and poor health of Thomas Kontogiannis were not enough to spare him a prison sentence of eight years and one month for his role laundering bribe money for former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham.
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Larry Burns also fined the wealthy Long Island financier $1,050,000 - twice the value of the bribe that Kontogiannis laundered through fraudulent mortgages that allowed Cunningham to buy a $2.4 million mansion in Rancho Santa Fe.
How the mighty have fallen. : )
