don't piss her off, she may try and hunt you down from her plane... I hear shooting wolves from the comfort of a plane is the latest "safari-tastic" thing to do for great hunters like Palin....
Don't be ridiculous. Girls controlling their own bodies? You girls can't do that! You need big, strong, "smart ", "religious" white men to tell you what to do with your "privates". Now go make some dinner.

Is she going to prove she loves her country? (And by "her country" I mean the United States.) Michelle Obama was excoriated for an awkwardly-worded sentence in a speech, and she wasn't on the ticket. Sarah Palin has ties to an organization that wants to secede from the United States. Where are the demands that she prove her patriotism and loyalty?

This is the easy part.. I cant wait for her to face Biden in the debates. He will shred her and expose her for the complete joke she is.

You think she'll actually speak to us or just read on script?
When's Bristol's due date?
I just want to be sure that we can expect the baby in January.......I'd hate to think Grandma is still lying to us.
It's not often that you find an entire family of women that don't start showing until 5or 8 months into their pregnancies.
i'd say Bristol is closer to 2 months along....but Grandma may have just lied a little bit more.

I'd say that Bristol is still trying to shed the excess poundage of her pregnancy (having given birth in April) ... but what do I know, I've only had two kids of my own...

I'm thinking she got pregnant right after the last one was born.
Imagine Palin's surprise when the baby doesn't show up until March. Then she's going to want to know how we figured it out.

She is not a "great speaker" at all John. I've poured over the intertubes and have seen the all videos of that negligent mother trying to make a speech but I'm just not seeing the "great" that you speak of.

Haven't seen a 'great speech' from her yet either, and while I hesitate to go here, what the hell, her voice is like nails on a chalkboard...
I really want to see her tonight, but I really REALLY don't want to see it, if that makes sense. I think I'll just watch something else and log on here for live comment blogging so I don't have to put myself through that...

I could only tolerate the RNC for about 30 seconds myself. watched Laura introduce her hubby via satellite. <shudder> I find that liquor helps to erase the memories of the off-beat pale folks trying to dance.

Tonight she's going to prove she's a world class performer.
Oh noes, can she out perform the Ghost of Ronald Reagan?
Seriously, this country doesn't need another performer... we don't need someone that can "act" presidential... been there, done that several times and look at the shape of things...
This country needs someone with experience, intelligence, a cool head under pressure, and with a BASIC level of honesty... haven't seen that on display lately with this bunch...

My local FauX affiliate had a teaser for their 5pm news and it showed a picture of Palin and the voiceover breathlessly announced "She's a PIONEER! A MAVERICK! And now she's a GAMECHANGER! We'll have a preview of her big night!"
Pioneer? WTF makes her a pioneer? Maverick? Yeah, sure, whatever. Gamechanger? Ha, she's changed the Republican game, that's for sure but I don't think it was what they expected.

The speech will be a "home run" because Republican standards are obviously so friggin' low. It's like playing pre-kindergarten softball, where there's not even a pitcher. They just place the ball on a stick in front of the batter. But Palin's not a child. And the ball is lighter. And the fence is only 7 feet away. And she gets as many "practice" swings as she needs. Under those near-certain circumstances, yes, she's probably going to hit a home run. As long as she doesn't start screaming about the secession of Alaska, or has any other sort of nervous breakdown on stage...as long as she doesn't shoot anybody in the face, whatever she says tonight will be considered a home run.
OK, she can probably still shoot someone in the face.

Robert, the repubs may have set the bar a bit high for Ms. Palin, but since they have the megaphone, they can also DEFINE what constitutes a "home run"..... EVEN IF NO ONE agrees.

transcript:
a segment with NBC's Chuck Todd ended today, Republican consultant Mike Murphy and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan were caught on a live mic ridiculing the choice of Sarah Palin.
"It's over," said Noonan, and then responded to a question of whether Palin is the most qualified Republican woman McCain could have chosen.
"The most qualified? No. I think they wen tfor this-- excuse me -- political bullshit about narratives," she said. "Everytime Republicans do that -- because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at and they blow it."
Murphy chimed in:
"The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."
In today's Wall Street Journal, Noonan was warmer to Palin, whom she wrote "could become a transformative political presence."
"The Sarah Palin choice is really going to work, or really not going to work," Noonan wrote. "It's not going to be a little successful or a little not; it's not going to be a wash. She is either going to be magic or one of history's accidents. She is either going to be brilliant and groundbreaking, or will soon be the target of unattributed quotes by bitter staffers shifting blame in all the Making of the President 2008 books."
Since filing, Noonan has apparently decided which side this one is coming down on.

As soon as she gives the speech, no matter how GOOD or how BAD it is, the media who are paid to be Pro-Republican will claim, "She did it! She did what she needed to do... ladies and gentlemen, meet your new vice president..." Its so predictable. Prop her up and make her look believable because its all smoke and mirrors! Thinking people need not vote because the sheep are going to be FED TONIGHT!

Palin has NO SUBSTANCE, NONE WHATSOEVER but those conservatives don't want substance. They want someone who is a FASCIST and will wear a flag pin... that is the only thing that matters to them.

You mean she does not have to prove that she is a patriot? Why is the standard higher for potential First Lady Michelle Obama than it is for the V.P. candidate? I call B.S. and racism.
She better come up with something good. I doubt that she has the skill necessary to pull this off. but then again, this same crowd was wowed by Cindy MCCain and her gold Flying Nun lapels the other night. You can tell her stylist and hair guru aren't gay. The only way a gay man would put her out there like that is if it was a set up and they were backstage laughing their a$$e$ off.
