The wingnuts are howling about attacking Iran. You can tell by their rushed comments, they're excited by the prospect. We're a sick society because of them.

The chitchat on Breakfast TV on MSNBC and Fox: Wow! Just WOW! Look at that McCain surge in the polls! Leading Obama by a big margin among "Likely" voters, whereas registered voters, we know, don't show up on election day, so those polls showing Obama leading McCain by 9 points among registered voters--well, those polls just don't matter. The 900 likely voters polled by Gallup--well, that's a HUGE sampling, more than enough to show how possible a McCain win will be. Remember: Obama only can attract black and young voters, and we all know they just stay in bed on election day. So: it's a horse race! Despite the media loving Obama so much and him presuming to be Presidential on the world stage. So McCain is still going to win this thing, possibly. Especially since Obama, despite those big crowds and pretty speeches, can't seal the deal with blue-collar independent voters (those Reagan Democrats, the only ones anybody cares about).

    HaHa!

may the deluded GOPers continue to sleep peacefully to the droning of the msm calling it for McAncient 98 days out... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I don't know why you all put yourselves through that. I seriously can't stomach it. It's like watching fake bubbly airheads with weird graphics as our society declines. But pull up a chair. Not everyone can watch their society go down the toilet with front row seats.

Daily quote from Ms Thang Rodeo Queen Pill Poppin' Sugar Mama Cindy McSame:

"Johnny didn't read any polls until today when he was watchin' morning news on FOX. This poll is a good one for us. Shows that our media pals are helpin' us along with our plans. And we all know that the youth vote and black vote are being well suppressed by our GOP pals in the local state registrar offices! Oh life is so good...do you like my new Chanel pink and pea soup green plaid wool suit? No these are my tits, not my kneecaps, thank you."

After reading about the defeat yesterday of the Coburn Package (or whatever its called) where the GOP voted against bills they themselves had proposed I have lost any faith that these politicians care about anything but themselves and their own reelection. The waste in government is mind boggling, the rush to thank the lobbyists by bailing out banks, wall street and the oil companies is startling. I want to believe Obama can enact change, but the Congress is being paralyzed by people who constantly tell us we can't have the things important to Americans. We have to be content with things that are important to Corporations, foreign governments and to themselves. They are continuing the trickle down horse shit from Regan. I want someone to give me 2 things that Regan, Bush Clinton and Bush did that was really a leg up for the middle and poor in this country. I can't think of a single thing.

One of the best things we can do to revitalize our country would be to enact term limits and get rid of congressional retirement plans. It was the beginning of the end when congresscritter became a career instead of a civic duty.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
They, the politicians, continue to talk about their sacrifice when becoming elected. The last time I checked they lead a pretty lucrative life, lots of perks, healthcare, pension, kickbacks, bribes, interns, pages, trips golfing, nice dinners, good hours, not too many work days, lots of office staff, free travel, car allowances and they all come out millionaires. I don't think a single American would say no to changing places with them. They even get to avoid voting on legislation anytime they want. so the actual work part is optional. They also get to place family and friends in nice governmental jobs. The best is the pension plan which also allows them to become lobbyists, I think they call that a twofer.

I am thinking something more dramatic involving guns (I have a right to own one sadly) and something resembling 18th C France. Lynchie is quite right. The sad part of this whole mess is that Obama seems like a decent man and they will destroy him on January 21st. Newt, Rush, Hannity, and the MSM will crucify this man because they will spin this all to look like his administration is totally at fault. It may be hopeless. I would bet a week's salary that Obama will only serve one term. Maybe it's time to leave blogging for good. Surfing porn is better for my well being personally. It all seems so hopeless. Even if Obama wins.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I can't think of a single Congressman who would vote for term limits. Might be interesting to find out how to have a National Referendum on the issue. That might put the fear of something into them. Trying to get people to recognize they are not being represented in Washington is impossible. Bush has raised the National Defict to double in 8 years and they would elected this cretin again in a heartbeat.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
I'm sorry LIz, but I believe that Term Limits are for the Voting impaired. We already HAVE term limits, the issue is more about getting the information around for all to see so that they can make a thoughtful and educated choice. The problem is that it "appears" that many/most of the citizens in the great land care more about having a beer or Bar-B-Que with their favorite guy/gal than who is best to lead.

A sorry state but one where another government imposed restriction of Term Limits would merely make a bad situation worse.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Reagan cut taxes, Bush 1 did nothing, Clinton reformed welfare/started NAFTA, Bush 2 cut taxes, synergized the FBI/CIA/police and has kept the terrorists "over there" instead of "over here". And, I agree with Liz, except that I think Congresspeople should have medicare as their health provider, regardless of age. Let them see what it's like to deal with the crap they created...
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
The tax cuts were for the rich. I asked for two things they did for the middle and poor. The rich don't need any help being richer.
  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
You are totally incorrect; See below:

    http://allfinancialmatters.com/2006/09/20/2007-...

    http://home.fuse.net/jrkremer/TaxRates-Federal1...

    A Single Taxpayer with $30,000 AGI paid $5052 in 1999, and $4,108 in 2007

    A Married Taxpayer with $60,000 AGI paid $11,204 in 1999 and $8,187 in 2007.

gotta hand it to the GOPer trolls. they never stop.
this country has been run into the ground by george and dick et al and they come here arguing for more.

    no thank you.
  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
So you prefer to keep your head in the sand and believe that the Bush tax cuts only helped the rich?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    well done!
John McCain should appoint you to succeed Phil Gramm...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
You're going to be one of the one's screaming the loudest when Obama raises your taxes to pay for the war. BTW, once he's in office, it becomes his war, to do with as he pleases.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
thats right the republicans always fuck everything up. the dems get elected and now it is ours. No busboy, we are going to tatoo all your fucking heads with GOP= WAR.
  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
    Talk about f'ing everything up...

Yeah....Jimmy Carter did such a great job with the economy and Iran...
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
And you mothers have been in charge ever since. Your 30 years have a defict of $15 trillion. Under Carter it was $66 Billion. Yeah Carter was a fuck up. if we had followed his lead we would have affordable wind and solar power.
Another insightful bag of shit from the Republicans. Continue the lies. I will enjoy you having to pay off Bush's debt.
  • CDS2 · 1 year ago
    You forgot Iran ?
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I think your man Bush trumps Iran with 4500 dead in Iraq dummy. Carter lost 8. 8 into 4500= 562 times. Plus Bush pissed away a $1 trillion. Yeah in the republican world of mathmatices they are equals.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
are you voting for McCain? really?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Depends on where Obama puts his markers down.

I'd really have to hold my nose to vote for McCain...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
No child left behind? Written by Ted Kennedy?
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
    Your wrong.
It was no child behind left by Mark Foley.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
as far as Clinton, NAFTA moved jobs out of American, not a help and reform of welfare just made more homeless. Keeping the terrorists out of here and over there is another one of your right wing lies. Bush was in charge when it went down. Since then Osama who recognized Bush was an incompetent has let him destroy us without any more attacks. You did not site one instance where the government helped the people and not corporations. You lose this round and the bonus round. You get to share in the massive debt your politicians have created. Enjoy

Obama should pick someone like Mike Bloomberg...an off the wall choice that would fuck up the GOP big time.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
What have you got against former Catholic Missionaries? Someone's got to ramrod the "faith based initiatives" that Obama wants to make permanent...

WASHINGTON - The United States can defeat al-Qaida if it relies less on force and more on policing and intelligence to root out the terror group's leaders, a new study contends.

"Keep in mind that terrorist groups are not eradicated overnight," said the study by the federally funded Rand research center, an organization that counsels the Pentagon.

Its report said that the use of military force by the United States or other countries should be reserved for quelling large, well-armed and well-organized insurgencies, and that American officials should stop using the term "war on terror" and replace it with "counterterrorism."

"Terrorists should be perceived and described as criminals, not holy warriors, and our analysis suggests there is no battlefield solution to terrorism," said Seth Jones, the lead author of the study and a Rand political scientist

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080729/ap_on_go_ca...

this from a study paid for by the government and done by the Rand Corporation.

We dumb liberal hippy bastards were right.

The Monica Goodling question du jour:

"What is it about George W. Bush that makes you want to serve him....a nice, steaming bowl of salmonella-laced jalapenos?
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
I'm wondering whether the stomach ravaged by so much alcohol and cocaine could possibly take jalapenos; he's probably on the Purple Pill diet. And besides, he probably has a food taster. : )

Could the bars possibly tighten up on those exams so that the Monica Goodlings of the country couldn't substitute "god's law" for man's law so easily? Too much mischief to commit...so little time.
