AMERICAblog: Tuesday Morning Open Thread

Talk about a major disappointment. I couldn't muster enough energy to support Biden if my life depended on it. He is a full-blown creature of Washington, full of nothing but conventional wisdom wrapped around a cocktail weenie. I'm sorry but unless Biden is dying from an incurable disease I'm not going to be energized one iota.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
I hate to say it BUT all of Obama's hopefuls are pretty weak IMHO...
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
I'm with that. A cocktail weenie is a still a weenie.

LOL thanks Bump, I was googling my little heiney off trying to find your story line, but to no avail.

I am disappointed that it was merely a typo instead of the real poop on the real poop.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Lots of local newspapers probably arriving this morning complete with the AP mispelling.....

    Now that I wouldn't doubt...and wouldn't that be apropos!

    re the cone of insolence

from the video: http://trevinwax.com/2008/08/17/obama-mccain-wi... and the transcript: http://rickwarrennews.com/transcript/

9 NOW MY FIRST QUESTION WAS THE CONE OF SILENCE
10 COMFORTABLE THAT YOU WERE IN JUST NOW?

11 A. I WAS TRYING TO HEAR THROUGH THE WALL.

    and

12 ARE WE GOING TO GET BACK TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPREME
    13 COURT JUSTICES.

    14 Q WE'LL GET TO THAT.

    15 A ALL RIGHT. OKAY.

16 Q YOU GOT ALL MY QUESTIONS, GOOD.

only thing, at no point in time was the subject of supreme court justices ever brought up w/mccain on the stage
  • lies · 1 year ago
    Wow!! Great catch.

This seems pretty definitive... in some ways... McCain will just claim his "old-timey" brain just stroked out for a minute.

But yeah, McCain brought up the SCJs... not The Rickster.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
My prayer: dear little Baby Jesus, please don't let Barack Obama pick bloviatin' plagiarizin' gaffemeister Joe Biden, however much he may love the clean and articulate black man. And if he does, please don't let Joe into any Dunkin Donut shops...or he'll lose the Indian-American vote.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I'll take Biden. He's got the cred.
Whoever McSame picks is going to be weak.

Biden will rip Romney a new one.

Biden has many more pluses than the few negatives.

I think we now know after that Cone of silence scam...that McSame will not play fair....and Obama and Biden will know how to beat them at that game.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Biden needs a trim.

The back of his hair keeps going over his back collar.

If you're going to pick an old guy w/o much hair, at least give him a buzz cut.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Anyone noticed how all of a sudden there are negative "posters" so early in the morning?

Could it be that the GOP is scared of Biden.?
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
    Not really.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
No, this Obama lover is scared of Biden's stupid mouth...
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Whereas I am with you 100% on Biden's mouth issues, he still is heavily engaged in the foreign policy realm, so perhaps he is the best of the worst.

What a way to pick a veep...
  • NanoPlop · 1 year ago
The only people that are scared of Biden are those that really believed Obama was about change in the first place. Biden is beholden to the credit and insurance industries, who allow him to play on the Foreign Relations Committee as long as he does their bidding when it comes time to hand out the favors.

Good morning. Obama will be in Orlando today to say something nice to people who think they think for themselves. Meanwhile, the Florid'oh weather clowns ["all disasters all the time"] are cheerleading the wind and rain from Fizzled Fay. "Be very a-Fay'd" is now downgraded to "possibility of tornadoes." Yeah, whatever. The operative concept here is disappointing . . . Obama? are you listening? "Disappointing." Should we spell it out for you?
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Hurricane Fay, Tornadoes, Obama, disappointing: I don't get the connections...
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
There was no hurricane, just some rain. There was no tornado. Obama isn't taking ahold. It's a rhetorical device called parallelism. It all comes down nothing happening. Yawn Obama.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    OK
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Well, I'll wait to kick the democrat until after they actually get into office.
  • tjlabs · 1 year ago
I know I'm cutting it a little bit close but I have my own prediction for whom Obama is going to choose for VP. Read more. http://www.tagg-lines.com/2008/08/obamas-choice...
  • confusion · 1 year ago
confusion say....JIM WEBB will be second in commander for 21st century.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
More Saddleback fallout: Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) pretty much says McCain is full of shit invoking his name as a "trusted adviser." Sweet.
  • ClayPotts · 1 year ago
After much prayer and introspection, I believe that my words in the past have been quite harsh and sinful. I am only a weak servant of God and I make many mistakes. My love for America is so strong that I only want the best things for every citizen. Please forgive me, America. We must all do the very best that we can to make proper choice. Please search your hearts and scriptures before voting and do so with love and humility. I have been selfish. This election is not about me. It is about leadership of a precious Christian Country. Again, please forgive me. -A fellow Christian

Rick Warren was on Glenn Beck;'s show last night. I better not hear another person say he's different than the rest of the religious right. Warren= "maverick" to the McCain humping beltway bumpkins
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Imagine a President AND a Vice President with some knowledge of and regard for the Constitution.

Seems too good to be true.

    Biden might be very good.
  • Gorgonzola · 1 year ago
I'm sure the mainstream media has already catalogued information they can use to destroy Baraks choice for VP. If the MSM has anything to report about Barak Obama you can bet that it will always be in some kind of negative context. The MSM is operating as if it were the propaganda service for the GOP.
  • Greensburg · 1 year ago
How is Biden any less a Washington insider (the same old same old) than Hillary? At least she would bring millions of votes with her, Biden brings his mouth and not much in way of votes. I guess its all about politics and not really any change to believe in. What a piss poor election this is turning out to be.
  • txexspeedy · 1 year ago
Biden won't get it. The GOP is praying for Biden just like they prayed for Hillary. He is almost as polarizing. He could be Sec./State if we can get an anointed Sen replacement from Del.

There is Someone out there. But the so called short list is made up by Political leaders who don't remember or never knew how to win. Webb might be good but he is a little short on charisma.

Please let Obama surprise everyone. BC everyone on the list already has a target painted on them be the GOP and MSM coming out. Obama needs to zig instead of zag.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
McCain flies around on his wife's corporate jet and Bayh's wife's position on corporate boards is a problem?

    I just don't get that.
