I don't know why but it continues to astound me that despite not getting any answers the dems continue to vote to fund this madness

It's all pure George Orwell. War without end until we get the job done and win.

Incidentally, what exactly do we get when we win? It would likely be somewhat like Pakistan; A new government, hostile to American and much more aligned with Iran than it is now. I'm just guessing and speculating, though.

Bush isn't worried....he's dumping everything on the next president.

    And then....there's this:

IMF says US crisis is 'largest financial shock since Great Depression'

Its all George Orwell alright. We are not a democracy anymore and I seriously doubt we will ever get it back. Tyrants never give up without a fight. I think Chimpy and Cheney will find some excuse to declare martial law before Inaugural Day if the Democrats win. They do not want to hand over power because they could end up in prison.

IMF says US crisis is 'largest financial shock since Great Depression'

And we're just getting started. I heard that the subprime mess will go on another 18 months and another 4 million loans will roll over to higher rates, causing more waves of foreclosures. I expect several big banks to fail.
  • firebrand · 1 year ago
    Tom3

I think you'r right on the bank failure issue.....and I think its coming soon. Oh hell its only money.

And I hear that 100 thousand jobs were lost in March alone (gulp). Perhaps we'll get another war to test our "patriotism "....

if supporting Bush equals patriotism, then I'll be a red commie traitor. ;-)

Public approval of President Bush has reached a new low in the Associated Press-Ipsos poll, driven by dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy.

A survey released Thursday showed just 28 percent approve of the overall job he is doing. His previous record low in the poll was 30 percent last month.

I thought Feingold's question was great. He wasn't trying to make the point to Gen. Betrayus or Crocker of shit, he was trying to get the point across to Americans, since the MSM won't do it. He read a part of one of Bin Laden's statements where he says his goal is to bankrupt the US, and he's done just what he set out to do. Feingold was great yesterday morning on Washington Journal, getting that point out once again. Even Republicans were calling in, agreeing with Russ. Which they do much more than they will admit.

I haven't been watching Betrayus and CrockOShit. I cannot stand listening to liars and traitors. This unnecessary war is bankrupting us both financially and morally. We have fallen from grace and will be punished by an angry Flying Spaghetti Monster.

With the way the Green Zone is being bombed and 18 deaths in Iraq the l;st 4 days.....

    just thinkin'
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
I bet that lying sack of shit Betrayus doesn't even have an emergency exit plan from Iraq. He's a fucking idiot and he will get more of our troops killed.

The only plan is to stall....til Bush's term is up

"WaMu also said it plans to close its 186 remaining freestanding home-loan offices nationwide and will exit wholesale lending by the end of June. "
    CLOSE!

That silly Suzy Orman said back in January I SPECIFICALLY remember her saying that this will all bottom out by summer and things will turn around......SHE seems to have changed her tune since January

Guess I'm not the only one that thought Feingold 's questioning was the best.

I have an idea for a news channel. How about a news channel that covers Washington DC press conferences? I mean one that ACTUALLY covers the entire press conference from beginning to end. Anyone, but me, get frustrated when an interesting conference is being covered, and it cuts away to some missing blond chick or the latest on polygamy sex? How about when just one or two speakers have their say, and you are looking forward to hearing from actual VETERANS who have something to say about George W. Bush and they cut away to the talking head so he/she can tell you what you've just heard?

Yes, we need a Washington DC channel that covers things end to end and WAITS until the talking - question/answer sessions are OVER before they try to narrate what has been heard. Right now, there is no channel to watch the news feed. I'm sure there are plenty of other policy wonks, like me, who would watch something similar to C-SPAN but a channel that would CONCENTRATE on hearings/press briefings instead of watching proceedings in congress.

Are we going to get criminal charges against Bush/Cheney after they leave office (since impeachment is off the table)? War criminals, war criminals, war criminals.

And few Dems who actually will push it. Sadly, substituting a Dem dictator for the shithead we have now is NOT democracy...I'd say all Dems in Congress need an education on what Bush/Cheney has wrought, and it shouldn't have to take an economic meltdown to get people stirrred up. If that's the way it's going to be, though, I'd say the majority of Americans need to bone up on their Constitution and Bill of Rights. What's the point of having material stuff when you don't have the freedoms you're supposed to have?

It really isn't just a goddamned piece of paper...

Anyone see that Tweety, Chris Matthews, makes 5 million dollars a year???!!! MSNBC pays Tweety 5 million? No wonder he is such a blow hard. By the way, I think any talking head who makes millions per year needs to provide a DISCLAIMER when they talk about Republicans raising taxes. I mean, come one, when one hear Tweety say Democrats are going to raise taxes is he talking about the average Joe who makes a tiny fraction of his salary, or is he talking about HIS taxes being raised? I'm with Warren Buffet. The financial elite need to start paying their damned fair share. Its not fair that Warren Buffet or Chris Matthew's secretaries pay a fraction of the taxes they pay. Republican policy just isn't fair at all. The pendulum needs to start swining the other way.

How about this one: Did anyone catch Lieberman's comments during the testimony? I saw part where he kept bashing Iran.

In the back of my mind I kept thinking of the Kyle-Lieberman legislation ( as well as the happy Hitlery signing her support)
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    Firebrand,

LIEberman is a dual-agent warmonger. Joe's already shown he doesn't give a damn about Connecticut or America. His loyalties lies elsewhere. Hint: Tel Aviv! ;-)

Ah, that's how Petraeus keeps his job, by sucking up to Bush.

WASHINGTON, Sep 12 (IPS) - In sharp contrast to the lionisation of Gen. David Petraeus by members of the U.S. Congress during his testimony this week, Petraeus's superior, Admiral William Fallon, chief of the Central Command (CENTCOM), derided Petraeus as a sycophant during their first meeting in Baghdad last March, according to Pentagon sources familiar with reports of the meeting.

Fallon told Petraeus that he considered him to be "an ass-kissing little chickenshit" and added, "I hate people like that", the sources say. That remark reportedly came after Petraeus began the meeting by making remarks that Fallon interpreted as trying to ingratiate himself with a superior.

And that's how Fallon loses his, by telling the truth.

The United States should stay in Iraq.
April 9, 2008, 8:00 pm Posted by Kozlo in Election2008

The United States should stay in Iraq and accomplish our mission. I support General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker. They are doing a fine job in bringing home to America the realities of what's going on in Iraq and what's at stake in any future decisions we make as a country in regards to Iraq.

We can't and must not leave Iraq for several reasons.

    1. Al Qaeda is not fully been destroyed.
    2. If we leave Iraq too soon, Iran will move in to fill the void.

Hey Democrats, stop trying to sell-out our mission in the mid-east. Take your white flag off your stick and fold it up and put it away. Face it, we aren't going to leave Iraq fully even with a Democrat or a Republican in the White House. The bottomline is that the Republicans are honest about it. The worthless Dems aren't.
