To quote the great Bertholt Brecht, at the finale of "Happy End"...."remember it is more of a crime to OWN a bank than to rob one."

I remember the Great Depression, although born in 1941, through stories my grandmother and other relatives told me over the years.

I'm way ahead of others in hiding my money in my mattress. : )

Oh, and best way to rob a bank? Wait until the armored car delivers cash--don't take tellers' cash which is rigged with dye, but that just delivered...

Didnt the Depression years bring us such characters as Bonnie and Clyde, Dillinger, Ma Barker, Pretty Boy Floyd, Al Capone... Ive read where the resurgence of gangs is going to be one of the bigger security threats as the economy gets worse...

Interesting...CSPAN just showed Britain's Queen saying a bill will be introduced to further fund and strengthen the nation's National Health Services.

Hmm, and why doesn't the US have universal health care yet? Maybe we need a big old Queen, too. : )

If only Plaxico Burress had driven a big bank into the ground or lied the country into an illegal war he'd still be playing ball...
What out,Oprah, your dog fighting hobby could bite yo' big ass!

The difference between the UK and US on this is that the UK is trying to protect the taxpayers putting up the dough for the bailout since the banks clearly cannot be trusted to do anything but swindle investors. The US is trying to dole out free bailout money to the banks at the expense of the taxpayer so that the swindlers are free to keep swindling in the future. Yay us!
