The real republican tactics start. Its going to get much uglier than an email.

Effectively communicating this sleaze to the electorate is the best way to eliminate it. Pick up the rock and expose the worm. All means of communication need to be employed to expose what is illegal and unethical.

These assholes should be drummed out of the military.
What they can and cannot do while in the Army (at least):
John - Calling a Military Intellgence MI (insert obligatory oxymoron quip here) a spy is a stretch though.

I've worked with the intel community before, it's only a stretch if you want to nitpick while discussing this with other federal employees, particularly employees from the agency. In the real world, if you work for a spy agency, doing intelligence work, you're a spy. You may not be an undercover spy, but you're a spy. Or to put it another way, it's like me saying I'm from Chicago when I'm really from the burbs. To a Chicagoan, I'm not from Chicago. To the rest of the country and world, I am.

Hey John, love the site, and I am an active campaigner for the Barack Obama campaign, and a 13 year veteran of the US Army Reserves. Intel officers are NOT spies. They are analysts. They analyze intelligence and information about the battlespace to provide recommendations to the commander. They are usually not even the active gatherers of information; that's usually cavalry or infantry types. They are the processors of information. Except for intel officers attached to the DIA or NSA or any other group, they also do not work for a spy agency or an intelligence agency. They are usually on staffs to infantry, armor, or artillery battalions, brigades, regiments, divisions, etc.

Dirty and evil but not very original...Remember the Pentagon's involvement with the variously signed but identical astroturf letters to the editor that appeared in smaller newspapers in the early war years?

Not disagreeing with anything you say here... except that intelligence officer does NOT necessarily equal being a spy. You're making a connotation that doesn't really apply.

Cheating is in their genes. Republicans know only one way to win elections and that is anything dishonest. Why is that? The reason is that their agenda favors a very small segment of the population and thusly only illegal, and unethical means are emplyed to steal elections by any means. Their record is constant. Only a well informed electorate can effectively thwart this sleaze.

Thanks John! This week i have been correcting and sending back 'liar' emails about Mr. Obama.
One is a fake column by Maureen Dowd, of all people, saying Obama is being funded by the 'terrorists', that his record amount of money has ties to Osama Bin Laden, etc. (I wonder if she knows about this email? )
So, sending this post of yours out pro-actively, because I will get this new chain email eventually, no doubt in my mind about that. The smear emails never die, even when they are thoroughly debunked by snopes, etc..
They just keep circulating like a shark, claiming their next gullible victim from the low information voter pool.

This is part of the plan. When President Obama takes office, he'll be in charge of a government that's been turned into a Fifth Column.

So, now an interest and ability in a sport ( basketball ) is smeared. How is the crashing of five planes a better sport? The last crash stopped the Navy from giving the Admiral's son and grandson yet another plane to crash. Wher are those military records? Kerry produced them-why not McCAin? Where are the full medical rcords? All other candidates have released them? Why not McCain? Somethings just must be HIDDEN!

Just more proof that the military in all branches, including the various national guards, are populated at the higher ranks with some total incompetents, fawning lickspittles who are unfit to wear the uniform. Look at how many "generals" had to be run through before Bush came up with Petraeus who was willing to sell his soul and agree with Dubya's "plans." Decent hard-working men and women have been wounded and killed in the field whilke these worthless desk-jockies sit back and blow smoke at congressional hearings. They should all be cashiered, court-marshalled and hung for treason or war crimes or both. I have long wondered how long it has been for some of the people since they were actually out holding a gun fighting; and i have begun to thing some of them never were. As for "military intelligence," that is an oxymoron of the first order. What is the count 24 or 28 intelligence agencies and none of these people can find their ass with both hands and a flashlight. God bless America... God SAVE America because none of these clowns is going to and I most definitely include Insane McCane or McBush3 whichever you prefer.

Just as a measure of balance, I wish we had our own set of wing nuts sending out things, like that against their candidate.
Game theory says, that if you punch me in the nose, I have to punch you back. If I don't you'll keep punching me in the nose, because you think it has no negative consequences to yourself.
We need to step things up. We need a watch dog list of every republican state secretary of state, every state using diebold, and we need to let these people know we are watching their ever step.
You know, I have a theory, that the decline of the union movement was a result of the decline of the mob. Once executives realized that busting unions didn't get bricks thrown through their windows or even worse, they set about destroying unions.
Game theory proves, that when civility breaks down the next best strategy is tit-for-tat. Tit-for-tat brings the uncivil back to civility, unless he wants his nose broken and his mouth smashed in.

Love the "Fatherof 6" mention. Unless he had multiples, the Guy is going out of his way to say "I had heterosexual sex at least six time". :-)
Our United States military now is little more than the armed wing of the republican party. From West Point to the Air Force Academy to Quantico the upper leadership officers have been replaced with religious nuts that are all marching to "Onward Xtian Soldiers." Anyone still trusting in our military leaders are going to be surprised, very surprised.

Thank you for this. Just this morning I had to defend this very email that a friend of mine received. That friend forwarded it to me with "food for thought" as his intro. I went to Snopes and forwarded to the site to my friend. However, Snopes verdict was still undetermined but most likely leaning to "farce". I do this kind of thing CONSTANTLY since people in South Carolina only read the front page headlines and the sports section, then go home and watch Fox if they watch any news at all.

Just to clarify a military intel officer is not a "spy". They simply collect the intelligence that actual "spies" or satellite imagery provides and puts it into a report. Thats all
What they can and cannot do while in the Army (at least):
