the media types aren't going to fact check themselves or their daddy McCain.
    that'll be up to us...
i think we're up to it.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
It might behoove the media types to do their own google searches

    Googles come gift-wrapped???

Grampa McSame's cute befuddlement and feebleness hides the heart of a true worthless lying anti-American neo-con republican. He will do anything and everything to have his chance at global warfare and the continued destruction of our values and American way of life. There is not one ounce of decency or honesty in his shriveled body.
I can't wait till we reach the point to where Grampa has to explain his deep involvement with the Savings and Loan failure and crises and how he escaped indictment and prison for his actions.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
You're counting on this same media to ask this question? At the rate they are letting him get away with everything, I don't think that will even come up unless they are forced to do so.
  • nikto · 1 year ago
What VILE SCUM these GOP/McCainers be!
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Listening to Tweety & Co, I'm convinced they don't check out anything--just chatter.

And nothing is going to change for the average working person with Rethugs & Vichy Dems in charge. Even if Jesus Christ came back with his original message and got elected, those others would block him (with as much ease as they allowed Bush his imperial presidency.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
If Jesus Christ came back and was elected to the Senate, I would be disappointed...
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Obama and then McCain must be giving the wingnuts severe whiplash. Funny watching their heads whip back and forth like that.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
BTW, Scott McClellan confesses that Fux News was given talking points by the WH...
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
I saw that bit as well. It's not like we're actually surprised by this, but it does confirm all that we knew to be true.

That and it makes my stomach turn all the more.
  • IAmATVJunkie · 1 year ago
It must be hard to be John McCain, so much crap to shovel, so little time.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
McBush doesn't do any of his dirty work. The rich always hire others to do it.
  • IAmATVJunkie · 1 year ago
So I guess Cindy is on the phone making those calls.

Funny, I thought she was too wasted to find the phone.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
    Oh, but that was then. . . she's a new person, now . . . ;-)

I got an email forwarded to me from a business associate a while ago.............a friend has a loved one serving in Iraq. He had emailed home saying how outraged he was that Obama had "brushed them off" when he came in to their location, and went straight to meet with the officers in charge. I am very sorry this brave, outstanding soldier's sense of propriety was outraged. I am a big suporter of Obama, and this soldier just thought we would "like to know what kind of person he really was. The episode of Landsthul, I think, illustrates what he was up against. The Pentagon and the Condi Rice version of the State Dept. are whoring our armed forces and our foreign service to nit pick a political point to--------------Hell I don't even know who at this point. To negate an opportunity to see, vett, and listen to what a US Senator, and yes, POTUS candidate, has to say, is a disgrace. Well done ayholes, you have succeeded..........these brave men and women have been unwiting victims of your shameless myopic programs once again.
  • LeesiD · 1 year ago
yeah!! First the State Dept. interfers and says that foreign service workers can't go to hear Obama's speech in Germany, after they said that the State Dept. is not going to be of service to Obama overseas, now the Pentagon announces the day before Obama was to go to the german military base, that it wasn't appropriate for him to go there as part of his campaign trip abroad......This is how our govt treats a citizen of our country!! What freakin' nerve!!!!
  • Mike_G · 1 year ago
B-b-b-ut...St. McCain made a statement! That's news regardless of anything else!
It's our job to report what he says without any of that boring old *checking the facts* -- way too trivial a task for us important media gasbags on the campaign trail.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Good to see the comedians here tonight...thanks for all you do. : )
  • foolme1ns · 1 year ago
If you want the "media types" to respond or even to acknowledge your criticism of their behavior, you're going to have to stop calling them "media types" and you're going to have to name names. Otherwise this goes nowhere. Who didn't call McCain on this hypocricy?
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Latest McClellan confession: Talking points were sent to brass and talent at Fux News.

Illegal govt propaganda machine hired as a private contractor for the WH.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
This tactic is not a new one. I'm going back to Armstrong Williams who was paid as a shill for the No Child Left Behind fiasco. The Republicans are like leopards who never change their spots. Armstrong has recently re-emerged in the journalist world assuming that his prior corruption has been forgotten and forgiven.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
If McCain isn't being dishonest, he just might be sleeping...
  • BostonJoe · 1 year ago
McCain is right. Obama could have visited the soldiers as long as he did not bring the press. It would have made some wounded soldiers very happy to
sit with the next Commander and Chief but he had better things to do. So much for supporting the troops!!!
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
he was told he could not visit the troops. What part of that don't you get.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
Yes, and he wanted to go without any cameras of press. The "brains" at the pentagon waited well into Obama's trip to tell him he couldn't visit for political reasons, which he wasn't doing. This really smells.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
lynchie, they just don't want to " get it". Mud is needed to fuel the Republican slimemeisters and it is mud they will create. This is their MO and has been for a very long time.
  • LeesiD · 1 year ago
Truly got the RW talking points down to a science don't you!!
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
BostonJoe will continue to ignore reality and hence he says the things that he does. The Republicans were desperate to find anything to criticize during the Obama trip and so this distortion of the truth had to do. Any mud is better than no mud in their world.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
Apparently Obama was told by the Pentagon, that he could not visit our wounded troops with his campaign team, but he could visit them with his senatorial staff. By the time he was informed of this his senatorial staff had left for the US, after their trip to the middle east. This is why he did not make this visit, and team McCain jolly well knows this, although they attacked him for not doing so. Some folks think that the Pentagon acted under the advice of some rethuglicans. The Rethugs who keep making cheap shots at Obama, do so with hypocrisy and lies. They are so desperate, they will say anything to bring Obama down.
  • LeesiD · 1 year ago
Great points!!! I saw the Bash-bashing she gave Obama. She does it all the time. She even showed Obama apparently leaving a gym, and tried to imply that 'Obama can go to a gym but can't go see the troops~ no doubt McCain gave her the talking points!! The media is very complicite in this; but I have to thank them on one hand while cursing them on another~they are highlighting the desperation and weaknesses of John McCain.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Can't we all forgive Dana Bash? She just adores donuts. Perhaps there is a barbeque invite for her down the road. Even a good close-up seat next next to Kelly O' Donnell on the bus would be nice.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
Just tonight Dana Bash on CNN dutifully repeated the McCain talking points and claimed that Obama made a mistake and big gaffe that the republicans can use against him. blah blah.
I wrote on the live blog that I resented Bash for lying.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
Perhaps, the media are fools. This continues to happen again, and again and they do not seem to even see that this is what the McBush camp is doing. Are they all in his pocket? We can not let them get away with this and they need to be hounded and hounded until they do the right thing. Good work, Joe.

"McCain's white so it's okay he's bashing Obama for what he's done too"-Jonathan Chait
  • LeesiD · 1 year ago
It really is appauling the selective outrage of this man, John McCain. The slease just doesn't stop...does it!!!
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Is it possible from one day to the next to know what McCain's position is on anything? He reminds me of a broken weather vane. Just imagine this guy with control over this country! A nightmare if ever there could be one. Hopefully, we'll not have to relive a worse version of the Bush/Cheney disasters. I shudder at the thought.
