Look for a hump on her back!!!!!!
  • cheetos · 1 year ago
I'll be keeping track of Palin's sentences ended with a preposition.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    Let the games begin!
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    PALIN WINS!!!

Oops, not yet. What channel is everyone watching? I'm on CNN.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
I'm on CBS 'cause Katie Couric is there and Survivor just ended. If it gets too bad, I have Ugly Betty cued up on the DVR.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
I hope she cries. Emotional, like a woman.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    Can I call you Joe?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
A trick to get him to call her Sarah?
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
If I can call you Tina.
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
    You can call me Al.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
If I can call you c*nt
  • ndtovent · 1 year ago
    LOL!
  • jennywa · 1 year ago
It should be MAY I call you Joe!
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
Does Gwen Ifill have a gong?
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
WTF? "can i call you Joe?"
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
    Can I call you Barbie?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    ha!
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
    PBS here....
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Well, ABC right away complied by setting the bar low for Palin. If she manages to speak a clear, complete sentence, they'll likely pretend she is the winner.
  • FreakOfNurture · 1 year ago
Anyone catch Barney Frank v oLiely? That will make a great viral video. Frank says he's "either not listening or too stupid to understand" a couple of times.
  • phaet2112 · 1 year ago
    Call me Joe!

    PBS here.
And you can already see the difference with the previous debate with the speed of their speech compared to the previous debate.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Is that a dayglow jeweled flag pin on her?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
And her Blue Star mother pin. I already have an upset stomach.

AND SHE JUST LIED! McCain did not suspend his campaign.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Well okay, Sarah....you suddenly discovered that people are in fear. Now she is trying to claim that McCain is the reform candidate. . .apparently despite his record. But Republicans are quite adept at pretending they have different records - and this debate appears set up to do nothing but score propaganda points rather than engage.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Go to a kid's soccer game? Oh please Jesus...
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
    Can I call ya Joe?
  • dad · 1 year ago
    that's 2 "reforms" 3 more and i'll have a PALIN
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
    She said "betcha" already!
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
i heard her drop an "ng" on a participle. DRINK-UP
  • PeteWa · 1 year ago
lol, that cracked me up moreleesafer.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
Can you do a better link to Tom Toles online sketch cartoon? It's about how "high" the bar was set for Palin.
  • phaet2112 · 1 year ago
She has a fair bit of fear in her eyes, honestly.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    wink! dear god...
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    She bullshits badly.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
This woman is full of sh*t. . .LOL. Her explanation is hilarious...and now she goes into the "we are mavericks". . .oh yeah, Sarah...Miss Bridge to Nowhere.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
CNN People Meter up, up, up when SP talks about soccer moms' fears; down, down, down when she brags about McCain.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    "soccer mom's fears"

Is this what our level of political discourse has come to?
  • dad · 1 year ago
    PALIN!

    that's 5 "reform"s
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    Maverick. Check.
  • Webster · 1 year ago
I hope my head doesn't explode listening to her lies.
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
Biden needs to blame the crisis on john McCain and his top guy Gramm. nonstop
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Why does Joe have to make this an actual debate; what is GI doing here?
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Palin bingo card filling up quickly!
  • benb · 1 year ago
    All I need is 'Earmarks'!
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
joe has to nail here on this..., please joe...it was the deregulation, please joe...
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    Joe 6-pack. Check.
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
Joe six-pack! Hockey moms! I'm gagging.
  • nikto · 1 year ago
Is it just me, but I can't stand the sound of her voice--It is excruciating!

She could kill Godzilla with that voice.

    Palin's voice=The Oxygen Destroyer

    Listening to her suffocates me!
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
What responsibility did Palin teach her daughter?
  • Peacechickmary · 1 year ago
That hair bobbing up and down in her eye is weirding me out.
  • debrazza · 1 year ago
Joe Biden is getting his ass kicked. I'd hate to say it, but it is true. What is wrong wiith his voice? His eyes?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
I was thinking the exact opposite.
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
her comments will register better with "avg families" and she sounds closer to them, more like them.... Biden needs to be tougher
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Biden is playing it nice 'n steady.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    please stop saying 'darn right'
  • dad · 1 year ago
    you betcha
  • nikto · 1 year ago
I wish she would screw up and say, "fuck" or "shit" or "Moose-Maw" or something.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
I don't think Biden is getting his butt kicked. He dealing with a woman who is a professional liar.
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
Before anyone starts shouting "Bingo!' just remember I have already declared myself the winner. I am armed and dangerous.
  • DAB · 1 year ago
She obviously took a lesson from Obama's debate performance, and is "speaking directly to voters" (i.e., speaking to the camera with the red light on it).
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    Now she's just lying.
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
palin is teaching me the meanng of hate.. she is such a lying nazi it is truly amazing..
  • phaet2112 · 1 year ago
Nice retort Joe! How about answering the fucking question there, Sarah?
  • Peacechickmary · 1 year ago
She's one of the best bull shitters I have ever heard.
  • DAB · 1 year ago
Palin's debate strategy: non sequiturs for the win.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Ok....Biden goes after Palin. Palin is trying to push the GOP talking point of raising taxes. . . and now she is going to pretend to "talk straight" to the American people. Oh...now she is the big tax reformer in Alaska. So how come Alaska needed so much federal tax money?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Watching CNN. Biden's chart thingy on the bottom is flatlining. Though, Palin's is doing the same right now.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
She might not answer the questions?!?!!!
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    She's a good liar.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
oh, SNAP Joe called her on not answering the de-regulation question.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Speak to the middle class Joe, you can't go wrong.
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
yes, lets talk about that history Gov Palin, the great deficit you left your small town, the huge lobbying expenditures to achieve the greatest per capita earmarks around, and how you gladly took money for that bridge to nowhere
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
The CNN People Meter plummeted when SP said she wouldn't answer the questions JB and GI wanted. Talking directly to the American people (she such a debate maverick!) means copping out of the debate, I guess.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
God, her hairstyle looks like Elvira's.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
She's lookin' pretty smug when he's speaking.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Joe! Over here! Look at the camera! Look at me! Don't let her have exclusive use of this technique, dude!
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
    REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH PRINCIPAL????

    Are you kidding me?????
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    She truly is clueless.
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
She's having a conversation with someone named Government.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    Talking points. More talking points.
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
Gov't is such a problem Alaska needs to succeed!
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    She's sounding too rehearsed.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
    yup.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
God she is clueless. She's a Limbaugh puppet.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
My college macro economics class was a LONG time ago, but what is Palin talking about that small businesses will be hit by the higher taxes for income over $250K? If a business owner earns over $250K after payroll and other expenses, then yes, that's fair. But if the business makes $250K, the business is not a personal tax filer. She obviously doesn't understand economics.
  • benb · 1 year ago
Yeah, she's trying to scare people.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
He is chewing her up, she is just reciting from memory, its why she won't answer the question.
  • dad · 1 year ago
i don't want my healthcare benefits taxed
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    Joe knows his stuff !!!!
  • WadeMD · 1 year ago
Holy shit! Bridge to nowhere. LOL
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
Ultimate Bridge to Nowhere!1 Joe, I love you!
  • nsr · 1 year ago
Can't a grown woman keep her hair out of her eyes? She looks like a ditz.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Wow....she is in over her head here
  • cbecker · 1 year ago
Why do I feel like she is talking to us like we are in pre-school or kindergarten?
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
she is pouring on the folksy, it could crash big...
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Men and women are responding VERY differently now on the CNN chart
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
She is a rabid right winger...god, the cliches coming out of her mouth.."redistribution of wealth". . .good god. This isn't a candidate...shes a walking deceitful, wingnut "christian" robot.
  • phaet2112 · 1 year ago
Blinking lights! He does kind of trip on his words a lot...but he is coming off as a regular guy, to me at least.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Yes he is....a regular guy not a rehearsed robot
  • Rab · 1 year ago
She is reciting from memory, plain and simple.
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
she took on the oil companies? - BURY HER JOE
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Has she answered ANY question yet? Jesus...I love seeing the question on the screen (watching CNN) and hear her babbling about something unrelated...
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
I expect her to yell out "Okay kids! Nap time!" any second.
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
the oil co ceos "are doing what they need to do"?!?! in ripping off America or causing pollution?
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
This bitch is an ultramaroon! I think she just claimed she broke up oil monopolies--news to me.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    Avoided the question again.
  • dandeelyon · 1 year ago
How many times has she NOT answered the question?
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Yep..she's fu*king up now. . .LOL. And the flipflop claim about Obama? Is this woman serious?

She's all about stopping greed and corruption. . .as long as it's not hers. Biden should point out her own history of scandals.
  • Rufus · 1 year ago
But, she's purdy and speaks swell.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
Yup. There's your energy expert folks. Minute after minute of rambling gibberish that made absolutely no sense.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Thanks Sarah...America didn't know there was corruption and greed on Wall Street. Now what did you do as governor to tackle this problem?
  • grandma · 1 year ago
    she's giving a speech now??
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
Perfect! Biden needs to show her record is not what McCain advocates for policy, that they are far apart on beliefs.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
The CNN People Meter seems to be registering a lot of boredom during the flurry of figures trotted out by both candidates. It goes down even more when she talks about Alaska. Ohioans don't, apparently, give a rat's ass about that place...
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Corruption on Wall Street? Just happened? John McCain fixed the problem? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
folksy b**tch crashes, film at 11..
  • mccainbush08 · 1 year ago
I'm so gosh darned proud to run with John McCain.

In a world gone insolvent, an unstoppable force travels from our past to destroy our future. He is . . . The Deregulator.

    http://snipurl.com/3xln8

He's the star of America’s least favorite reality game show: Drop the Regulations!

  • Donna_MC · 1 year ago
Can she just answer the question?
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
Donna, that was a rhetorical question, right?
  • Donna_MC · 1 year ago
    darn right it was
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
I give her credit for memorizing her talking points well but she's boring and has nothing to say. Poor little lamb, she'll sleep for a week after tonight. Vice Presidential debating is hard.
  • cephas · 1 year ago
She just said, "It's a toxic mess on MAIN STREET that has affected WALL STREET." That's backward, right? :)
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Whatsup with Palin and her calling herself a "mainstreater." Uh, Biden and his wife make less money than the Palins! The Palins just got caught making more than one million dollars. Uh, they aren't middle class like she just claimed!
  • blues88 · 1 year ago
Joe is looking at the camera at just the right times - when he looks at Gwen he addresses her by name... Palin looks way to rehearsed and her gaze in the camera is too overboard.
  • IamSmartypants · 1 year ago
She may be reciting talking points, but she's coming across very smoothly. Disturbingly well.

I really dislike this format, though Gwen Ifil seems to be flexible about letting them respond to one another.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
McCain's team got them to change to this format to benefit Palin.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Biden is`smart to be making John McCain's cluelessness about the economy the issue.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    Biden is more spontaneous.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Here she avoids again...she spurts a lie and then runs to something else. This woman is incompetent.
  • Rev_Sacrilege · 1 year ago
God, this bitch scares me. She's not saying anything, but I can see the soccer moms across America swooning.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Sarah's brain is starting to hiccup.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
I wanna talk about energy vs. your ticket's energy also.

I don't know why she's always on about black gold with that silver tongue.
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
Happy birthday Jacki-and a very merry un-birthday to the rest of us. Here we go-drill baby drill!
  • dandeelyon · 1 year ago
ooooooooohhhhhh....she just alienated the entire East coast...
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
But no one lives on the east coast. Except half the population of the US.
  • WadeMD · 1 year ago
    ANSWER THE QUESTION GOVERNOR!!!!!!
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
    Alaska! Alaska! Alaska!

I'm starting to understand how Jan Brady felt.
  • Peacechickmary · 1 year ago
Sounds like a tour guide at DisneyWorld.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
On CNN they have a ticker that shows uncommitted men and women voters and every time she doesn't answer the actual quesiton, her lines with both men and women, plummets...
  • phaet2112 · 1 year ago
It's a little annoying that she is not even bothering with the question again...what does CNN show when she completely ducks the question?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    Her lines go waaaay down...
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Alaskaaaaaaaaaaa. Keep yakking about it Barbie.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Energy independence was recognized back in the late 1970's. What have the Republicans done about it for the last 25 years and through 20 years of Republican rule?
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
Sharia's flag pin is much bigger than Joe's. I bet it cost a helluva lot more too. She wins the dabate!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Gwen Ifill just let Sarah do her canned talking points and filibuster with it without answering the question. Isn't it the JOB of the moderator to reign in a candidate who tries to side step questions??? Has the ref been worked?
  • dandeelyon · 1 year ago
Well, now she's just throwing out words...
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
She did the beauty-queen strut when she came out on stage. Where was her sash?
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
wtf she is not answering the questions...everyone take 3 shots
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
I'll be drunk by halftime if I did that...
  • blues88 · 1 year ago
I can not follow her to save my life
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Oh come on, Sarah. . .Republicans love pollution.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
Is she hard to follow or am I just forgetting my jabberwocky?
  • nsr · 1 year ago
She just said we can't attribute man's activities to the climate change. Again.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Biden answers the question, Palin does not. Biden is smart to keep on McCain.
  • FreakOfNurture · 1 year ago
Is she a governor? Good thing she keeps reminding me.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
Not just a Governor, but a Governor of Alaska. She will remind you of that, too.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
GWEN IFILL - Referee successfully worked. Ifill SUCKS!
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    Agreed Ifill is terrible.
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
She is a blithering idiot that is stringing together random phrases to run out the clock.
Please tell me that people are seeing her for the idiot that she is.
  • Ginger_FL · 1 year ago
This is the first debate my husband has ever watched....
He is laughing his head off....he recognizes her lines from the curic interview and can't believe she isn't answering any questions.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Coverall on the bingo Drill, Baby Drill.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
"Drill baby drill". . .huh? But Sarah...isn't Canada funding the pipeline? Drill, baby drill. . .omg. LOLOL
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
did she just call Joe "Senator O'Biden" (and he grinned?)
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
If I read the CNN people line, Biden is starting to appeal more, but largely because she's lurched into platitudes and he fires back with facts.

The 'it's drill baby drill' comment sunk her with women.
  • WadeMD · 1 year ago
    Senator O'Biden? HUH?
    Nucular?
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
If you're watching CNN, women just don't like her very much.
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
...."America and our international ALLEYS" ???
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Can she talk any faster? Her coaches need to be fired.
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
I want Gwen to ask her the Flintstones question. Human footprints in the dino's prints? That's the ticket!
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
drill, baby, drill. . ..is she now talking about her husband?
  • Milli · 1 year ago
Thanks. Now I have that image stuck in my head.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
At least it isn't an image of John and Cindy...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Is there a moderator for this debate or a newsreader? Gwenn Ifill can redirect can't she? She can ask the candidate to ANSWER HER DAMNED QUESTION and not let her filibuster using canned talking points?
  • dandeelyon · 1 year ago
What "all of the above" approach...
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Palin got a BIG positive response on CNN for advocating drilling for US oil.
  • Milli · 1 year ago
Buh Bye Sarah Dipstick! You are so over your head.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
Woo Hoo! Joe on gay issues! Can't wait to see Sarah O'Palin's answer.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
Biden scored OK on the gay benefits question with both men and women.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    Oh, he said marriage.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
Voter reaction on CNN is interesting on same sex question
  • Donna_MC · 1 year ago
    She mispronounced nuclear
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Mix 'n match from the Bingo Card: SP leaps away from climate change to energee indiepidince. I am baffled by the bullshit... GI needs to get tougher on getting her to answer the question. 60 more minutes of this crap!
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Biden hits a home run, Same-sex benefits is a right that cannot be denied.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Wow...Palen believes Americans should have the right to choose their own relationships. . .they just aren't entitled to any sort of legal rights.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
partners they deem best for themselves??
  • ndtovent · 1 year ago
OOOO the gay marriage question.. Palin f**d this one up
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
we're informed. for people with less knowledge she may appear well-versed in a topic important to her state; they may not now it is rehersed. she is not blowing this yet.
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
Gwen is one very tame moderator.Too tame.
Oh yeah, the ref has been worked.
  • martha · 1 year ago
Yes, I used to really admire her. But she is so afraid. I'm not the best person in the world. But if I had the chance to question these candidates, I would not be so timed.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Oh, gee, thank you for being TOLERANT and allowing me to pick my partner, Mrs. Palin! I would hate for someone with all your power NOT being tolerant! I mean you ARE the queen of the universe of Alaska, right? SNARK!
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
traditional marriage = shotgun (or whatever it is she uses to shoot wolves and moose)
  • greyroadster · 1 year ago
good, foreign policy. for every country she names, i want Biden to ask her to identify its form of gov't, and name 3 bordering countries... and if he has a pocket map, whip it out and ask her to point to it ;)
  • phaet2112 · 1 year ago
Toss them gays under the bus! :(
  • FreakOfNurture · 1 year ago
Did she just not say "some of my best friends are gay"?
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
    The SURGE!! In Eye-rack!
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Wow..Palin is thankful we have a plan formulated by heroes. Now I KNOW it's her husband she was directing that "drill baby drill" remark to. . .
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
both don't support gay marriage??? WTF????

did they both just throw homo's under the bus??
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
correct. Neither ever has. You didn't know that?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Ifill: "Wonderful. You're both against gay marriage."
    Fuck you Ifill.
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
    The Iraq and such as.....
    Down to pre-surge numbers??
  • blues88 · 1 year ago
Gwen sucks... have her answer a question!
  • Rab · 1 year ago
She can't answer the question about Iraq.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Why did Gwen ask Senator Biden to not nuance his answer to Gay Marriage? Did she know what his answer was going to be already? I don't think so!
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
    SP flatlining on Iraq
  • IamSmartypants · 1 year ago
Tire marks on my back. Fuck both of them for the moment. I really don't like being a second class citizen.
  • dacnova · 1 year ago
I gritted my teeth and told myself Obama and O'Biden have to say that BS until after the election, then they can have a revelation that a civil marriage license isn't Holy Matrimony.
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
"...and the surge, which has worked..." Bwaahahaha!
  • Outraged2 · 1 year ago
    We're at pre-surge troop levels??? I don't think soooo....
  • benb · 1 year ago
She hasn't explained what Exit Strategy ....nevermind...thank you Joe Biden
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
The CNN People Meter loves Joe when he talks about the Eye-rack Exit Strategy (and doesn't like her).
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
Iraq, Palin just lost her talking points. Umm.......
  • Mark217 · 1 year ago
I really loathe this Palin creature.
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
Uh-oh. . .Sarah is faltering. All that is left in her hand is her fear card. My...even coached GOP lies have their limit. . .
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
SP just went way below the line on CNN.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
She can only use cliche to answer Iraq. The wrong cliche.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
She did not score on Iraq... barely OK with men, down with women.
  • DeppFan · 1 year ago
    "Eye-Racki"

    "Nucular"

I can't take 4 more years of this.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
WOW, her lines went WAAAAY negative when she mentioned the 'white flag of surrender'...

Biden, however, was VERY strong. Not perfect, but very strong and displayed a firm grasp of all the issues. When you envision which of these two people could handle being POTUS, there is only one person on that stage who you can see handling that massive responsibility.

  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
First, Senator Biden was fabulous! Really great. He made me proud.
Secondly, Gwen Ifil really should be the new host of Meet the Press, she was terrific.
Thirdly and most scarily, Ms. Palin was terrifying. Couple her expanded VP power desire with her obviously masked personality with Gibson, Couric, Hannity as proved with tonight's dyed in the wool Rovian.
Though she mostly read her VP power statement off notes it was chilling none the less.
I was amused by her statement that every administration has made enormous blunders.

  • KISSman · 1 year ago
I knew I would quickly get annoyed by the post-game analysis and I'm already cranky after 15-minutes of watching it. Everything is about Sarah Palin. Good, bad or whatever, it's ALL about her. Joe Biden was basically just there so she would have someone to debate. It doesn't seem fair -- especially when they don't seem to grade these people on who seemed to be best equipt to actually be president.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Punditry needs to ask where Palin and McCain's anger and mean spiritedness comes from?
Also, the talking heads need to wonder where tonight's relatively poised artic fascist was hiding these last few weeks of aw shucks forays to the "press filter".
The contrast between Biden and the very aptly nicknamed Mooselini was stunningly stark.
Biden was assured and very definately a leader to make all of us proud.
Moosie's jumble of worn catch-phrases and smiley-faced knifing was ugly to see...No woman in her right mind will relate to her.

  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
It was a debate between a high pitched virago, and a intelligent gentleman.
Palin did give a few unnecessary, and ugly shots at Biden, and Biden behaved like the mature adult. She kept regurgitating her talking points and even insisted on answering them when the question was not asked. It showed that she wanted her talking points out there, whatever the subject was. She had no depth or knowledge whatsover. It was a constant repetition, and meaningless answers, with words like maverick, thrown in, at inappropriate moments.
Biden gets high marks for depth, knowledge, decency, humor, and even looked quite Presidential. Palin looked like a candidate for the mayor's office.
I am glad that Biden called her out, when she deliberately misrepresented Obama and Bidens votes, and positions.

I hope the US is spared from ever having her as its VP. It would be disastrous.

No way. Obama is our next President.

May I also add that Iffil was a terrible moderator....she did not have the courage to stop Palin's meaningless ramblings, from one topic to another, and when she insisted that she did not want to answer the questions in the correct format.
Iffil, should have told Palin to stop straying, and stay on topic. Ifill, did not realize, that Palin wanted to keep to her talking points, and not answer any questions outside what she said. Iffil, was a disappointment.

I beg to differ. I think Gwen Ifill was terrified to ask tough questions and to take Palin to task because the Repubicans made a great big deal out of the book Ifill has written about Obama and racial politics. She was terrified they would all crow that she threw the debate to Biden to sell more books. Again, we suffer at the mercy of people who live to sell books and not to work for the American people as the FOURTH ESTATE!

Had Ifill done her job it would have been more Katie Couric, and she would have pinned down BOTH CANDIDATES by making them get specific. Biden, naturally gets specific even without being pinned down. Palin was able to FAKE IT therefore she looked good to the undecided, low information voter who needed to have Palin answer questions like, "Governor Palin, are you against Roe vs. Wade?" "Governor Palin, why did you charge rape victims for their rape kits when you were mayor of Wasilla?"

Governor Palin attempted to neutralize herself from a possibly tough debate by saying at the beginning she might not answer questions the way the moderator wanted her to. In other words, if she got redirected by the moderator, she would continue on with her talking points. Unfortunately, for the audience, Gwen Ifill sat their like a bump on the log, and even gave Palin PERMISSION to change the subject several times while then following up with Biden and FORCING HIM to comment on the angle Palin wanted to cover. For instance, the switch to the subject of Afghanistan after Palin started stumbling over the NUCULAR issue.

Gwen failed to moderate. Disappointing for sure.

Palin frequently said she is a governor of a large energy producing state and not a "Washington insider." Sound familiar??? Democrats need to use those claims to frame her comments and link her to George W. Bush.

Sarah Palin is full of a sense of entitlement because she's cute.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Sarah also said she was middle class. Uh, I don't think so.

Just saw Palin and family at a post debate rally (on MSNBC). Her special needs infant is with them - why? I would think that any child at that age, special needs or not, should really be taken care of and at home sleeping, instead of being used as a center piece at a political rally. It's just sad.

This last time, he was awake, but looked exhausted. We know she has an infant. No need to parade him around this late at night. The 7 year old daughter was carrying him. She should be in bed too! Bristol, on the other hand, should have spent less time in bed.

The real loser in this debate was John McCain. Biden was able to tear down his maverick image. Palin wasn't able to defend McCain. Palin lied about being a pitbull with lipstick. Other than helping McCain with the religious right base--Palin is useless to the McCain campaign.

    Finally, I'm here kiddos!

What a debate. Too bad I didn't have hard liquor because the wine didn't help much with my frustration at Palin for Student Council Vice President "performance".

Thank goodness Biden focused on McCain=bush.

    It's over for the republiCONs.

Even parading the Obama they have hidden in the attic will NOT help the republiCONs get out of their mess they created with the IDIOT VP candidate..
