As a member of the voting public watching Palin speak, I have to conclude that yes, she does in fact, think I'm stupid.
that pisses me off.

Hopefully Democratic controlled Senate and Congress will happen if on the off chance Pappy and Miss Gonads win, so they can't do shit.

I just looked online to see how Bill Clinton was leading at this same time of year in 1992. In looking for this information, I found out that around this time he established his economic strategy and he entitled it "Putting People First"!!!!! Sound familiar?? It looks like the Repubs are copying the playbook of the Dems this year, hugh? Too funny!

So what did you find about Clinton in 1992 at this point??

Shortened versions of this would be great in a commercial for Obama. Maybe show McCain saying one thing, then a clip of him saying something else and the word LIE on it. Then a clip of Caribou Barbie saying what she did about 'thanks but no thanks' and then her real words on it, and the word LIE. End with "America can't afford 4 more years of lying".
Call it out for what it really is...
If only....

I agree... the BEST things I've seen so far has come out of the Daily Show's Republican convention coverage.... they had a bit with McCain supporting an issue and then a clip showing McCain denouncing the same issue... they strung 5 or 6 of McCain's positions on different issues together where he supported and then denounced them... very good use of time... McCain debating himself...

Great idea, perhaps one of the 527s can do this if Obama apologizes enough for his mistake of insulting them and asking folks not to support them. It's not too late.

People, All of these little tidbits are not going to make a dent. People's eyes gloss over when they here about 'the bridge to nowhere' or 'we should be fighting the terrorists in Afghanistan, not in Iraq' or 'they're lying...see, see?' We're preaching to the choir. McCain didn't cave to the religious right, they are being used again just like they were with Bush. Something more drastic has to be done. I don't have the answers but hopefully with the Obama campaign (they beat Clinton for Chris sakes) has a plan. They've surprised us already.

While I appreciate TPM's attempt to put out a spot debunking Palin's Bridge to Nowhere lies, the thing that folks will remember is the last spoken words... and while the laugh was meant to point out the absurdity of the statement, I don't think it does... the laugh seems disconnected from the ad... they should have used the "announcer's" voice and continued the statement into the "laugh"...

The ballot shall validate the change agent. The election will be won or lost on the strength of the ground game.
This is not an election based on economics or whether we are worse off than we were eight years ago. This is an election based on Americas ability to choose what is right for the country regardless of the change agent's race, gender, or political party. ENOUGH

Or: what if it's just an election about who the majority "feels comfortable with"? After all, 19 months of intense campaigning by Obama still hasn't made much of a dent in that "concern" (as the MSM calls it), whereas a majority of white Americans think they "know" Palin after just a 38 minute speech, repeated almost word-for-word on the stump for 10 days. And everyone "knows" McCain is a war hero and a maverick. Katie, Charlie, and Brian have told them that much for months now.

So - 80% of the country think we are going in the wrong direction and Bush has a 20 something % approval rating but 50% of Americans now want to reward the people who got us into this mess with 4 more years. I'm really in shock.

It's called mass cognitive dissonance. Like I say: America is a low-IQ toddler screaming its head off because it soiled its diaper, but then switches off and starts to laugh and gurgle with pleasure when a shiny, pretty object is dangled in front of its face as a distraction.

Man...if there's anything that makes me miss Tim Russert, it's stuff like this. Imagine poor Sarah being forced to eat her own words when Tim would've either ran this video or a transcription of it?
Unless she were to take a page out of Cheney's book and reply "I didn't say that..."

That Palin has THIN credentials and a propensity to say whatever she thinks the public wants to hear regardless of the facts (i.e. lie) is not the issue.
Palin and McCain will be Bush's third term. Palin will be manipulated by the Washington establishment and big money. Believe it. That's what's motivating her to DRILL in Alaska. Its all about money for her and Alaska. Not about the environment, sound public policy, or the best interest of America.

McCain/Palin = Bush's Third Term.

What does truth have to do with it? The Repubs know that if you say something often enough, it becomes the truth.

Thanks TPM!
Palin should be forced to eat her words in front of the press.
Unfortunately, Palin is trying to run out the clock and avoid interviews with real reporters.

She claims to be a devout christian but lies like a dog. Someone should ask her, "Governor Palin, do you think Jesus approves of the amount of lying that you are doing to get elected?"

Indicted Senator Ted Stevens received a variety of "gifts" (read "bribes").
So what did Sarah Palin get for her ringing endorsement of Stevens and money for "Bridges to Nowhere" and "Roads to Nowhere?"

Facts, reality and logic do not matter to Republicans...
The Republican voter doesn't care if their candidates lie to their face, in fact since Reagan in 1980, the electorate has demanded nothing less than being lied to by their politicians.
It's not that they think you are stupid, they know so. Fox News has made them so.
that pisses me off.
