That pretty well sums up the thinking of the Republican base and those responsible for bringing us George Bush.

Imagine how people would react if the unwed pregnant daughter on stage was a teenage Malia Obama instead of Bristol Palin?

Don't forget Tracker's drug problem. But of course, since he is going into the military, he is immune to examination. They will have that druggie freak a hero by the end of the week.

yeah....have to find a way to get him injured or taken a prisoner of war..then he gains the McCain type superpower of a teflon coating that can magically deflect all criticism of your values, world views, inability to use Windows XP........

Interlude, you bring up an issue with this whole political process that has people like myself, an AA, angry. You know how much of a story this would be if what you are suggesting was the case? It would be backlash unimaginable and stereotypes that often plague our community would begin to emerge. It is absolutely wrong to see this kind of a double standard applied here.

The one thing I don't like about this is that it contrasts our *Presidential* nominee with their *VP* nominee. I think it's folly to even consider that there could be any comparison between Obama and Palin.
Why doesn't some smart person here do the same thing in this email, except with McCain? You could start out with "If you grow up in Hawaii" and "if you're born in Panama"...
Just sayin'... All this email does is bring Palin up to Obama's level. Let's take McCain down a peg instead.

Right. Focus on McCain. Although doing this comparison between Palin and Biden would be cool too.
All logic goes out the window when people start making excuses for their mistakes and flaws. Most republican voters are not as corrupt and vile as the current repug leadership, but they are too ashamed to admit that they put the criminals in charge of their party. Pride makes fools of the weak.

Now, now, don't sell Sarah short. She is a genius of the highest order, reflected in how she has named her children. Willow is obviously a learned literary reference to the classic "Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame. Trig reflects Gov. Palins love for higher mathematics - trigonometry. And Track is a tribute to Sarah's phenomenal grasp of theoretical physics, referring to the track, or event reconstruction of a charged particle's path in relation to a particle accelerator or particle detector.
yup....that pretty much sums it up. I don't normally pass those types of emails on, but I will send that one out to my republican friends.

These hypocrites try to play these disgusting games, and make you feel you are in a twilight zone. Double standards are so obvious sometimes, and it makes me mad that the MSM does not ask them about it. Take that Lipstick comment, Obama made, when that McCain spokesperson (skinny, blonde, lobbyist) was why McCain used that phrase a couple of times, she said it was "different). What a load of BS.

Wonderful email. I am going to copy this to everyone I know.
A bit off topic but: I really believe the way to convince all of the moderates/independents to shun McCain is to run ads with him singing "bomb, bomb Iran" intercut with young people signing up for the draft. Those images will freak out all of those people for whom "war" is not completely relevant yet.

Under Obama's accomplishments, can we please start adding "Created and led a political campaign that took out the Clinton machine?" No small feat, that.

Ok at the risk of beating a dead horse, let me say it one more time:
Alaska state education policy, under Gov Palin, requires that young students be taught about sexual predators. There isn't a functional mother in the US that doesn't do the same thing. Education policy also requires that young students be taught about safe and unsafe touching. When are the somnolent members of Obama's campaign strategy team going to bring this information forward.

John Ridley did a couple of great posts at HuffPo:
Your Pocket Guide to Speaking Palin-guage (Vol. 1)
A couple of examples:
Black teen pregnancies? A "crisis" in black America. White teen pregnancies? A "blessed event."
If you grow up in Hawaii you're "exotic." Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you're the quintessential "American story."
Similarly, if you name you kid Barack you're "unpatriotic." Name your kid Track, you're "colorful."
If you're a Democrat and you make a VP pick without fully vetting the individual you're "reckless." A Republican who doesn't fully vet is a "maverick."
Instead of Congress lowering Medical care for Senior Citizens and Disabeled people, I feel all Seniors, and Disabled people should be have the SAME Medical care our Congressional people have. After all, THEY are supposed to WORK FOR US! We are NOT supposed to be working for them. OBVIOUSLY this has been forgotten. I say, ENOUGH is ENOUGH!
