A man with 9 homes and a private plane says a bill for the vets education is "too generous"

Runaway government spending is for oil companies, not for citizens.

Obama is starting to vet vp choices - on msnbc this morning. Maybe a vp Webb can have fun with Graham and McCain if they torpedo his GI bill.

Conservative Republicans have never believed that American tax money should be spent on Americans - in America. That's why they support American corporations shipping jobs overseas, giving them tax credits to build plants in other countries, and throwing trillions of dollars on foreign adventures. But spend one dollar at home on the needs of the American citizens? Outrageous!

Are Obama and Clinton in DC to vote today?

It is the same for the Republicans on their stand on abortion. If a 13 year old gets pregnant then she must change her life plans and have the baby. She would never get any assistance after the baby is born. They want to fight with all the other countries in the world, but when our heroes come home they don't give them squat.

How about the Democrats hold a vote to end the war.

Those vet deserve every freakin' nickel they get and then some. Did you know that we have some active duty service members who actually quality for food stamps? I saw it many times. why the hell does a man who puts himself in harms way for our country have to have his wife apply for food stamps when he is deployed? They should not have to depend on the food bank to feed their families. FACT: every military base I visited, had a WIC office. yep. the Womens Infants Children program to provide healthy food for pregnant women and babies. why is that even necessary?
anyone who votes against this bill needs to explain themselves.

reminds me of the way we treat teaches in this country. we trust these people with our children and they have to beg, borrow or steal supplies to teach! why? I have a friend who went into teaching after the Air Force. She completed her B.S. and became a teacher. I make more money than she does and I spend my days managing projects. She is managing a classroom of 30 children. what is wrong with us?

There was a time in America that life was hopeful and one could live out the American Dream, but this was all under years of Democratic rule. Since Republicans have gotten into power, the dream has slowly died until it is now almost dead and in its deaththroes. The GOP has done nothing for the American families or way of life, although they always spout "family values". If we allow them to fool us again by their clever way of manipulating words like a "dagger" on their opponents and the use of their tricks - "now you see it, now you don't", then may be we deserve high gas prices, increased food prices, more wars, a loss of jobs, higher health-care costs and complete desolation of America, who will become a third-world country!

Unfortunately, McCain and the GOP have no positive ideas on foreign policy or anything else. They say no the Farm Bill; No to the G.I. Bill, No to a higher minimum wage; No to helping those with foreclosure problems in otherwords no to charity and taking care of one's brother. The Bible teaches us that anger only begets anger and that we should love. What happened to these values we used to live by? How can a party which pretends to be religious live with such an anti-Christian way? They say and do the antithesis of the teachings of Christ!

The vets coming home from two (or more) EXTENDED tours deserve this GI bill. If the repukes block it it'll be one more thing to hang around the necks of the senators up for reelection as well as McCain/Bush.

Oh, and personally I disagree about Webb for VP. Secretary of Defense? Yes!
