AMERICAblog: VoteVets: McCain means the draft

    Great Ad !!!
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
One of the better ads I have seen during this election process. Simple and to the point.
  • truebluecoondog · 1 year ago
AND if we had had a draft in the first place - instead of the back door variety of re-deployments - the public would have made it their business to get educated and this war (occupation) would be over by now.

I'm not for McCain by any stretch but the "D" word has been used to scare Americans all along and they SHOULD be scared.

interesting tidbit I read this morning:

Obama won the Alaskan primary caucus. And the Republican mayor of Fairbanks endorsed him.

I hope those who plan to vote for McWar are preparing their chilcren and grandchildren to be soldiers.
  • RobertSeattle · 1 year ago
Even if McCain wanted a draft congress wouldn't go along.
  • jcgraham77 · 1 year ago
You mean like they haven't went along with any of Bushes crap??? Haha
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
I wouldn't be so sure. After watching these spineless leaders give in at every battle with Bush or the republican side, if we go by previous actions, they will fall all over themselves to be the first to start the draft so they can get credit for something. ;-(

Whistleblower comes forward about McCain using senate seat to cover Cindy's ass during illegal drug deals:

Obama has released the 527s. I am hoping these ads get on the air to combat all the nonsense spewing forth from McBush, the sequal.
  • paulbot5 · 1 year ago
And Obama doesnt mean a draft either? They are both war mongers imo
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
    huh?
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
a draft is politically unfeasible, but it's fair to advertise aspects of mccains "global vision", including his being comfortable with a draft. ironically, a draft (and a war tax) would prevent future blunders like the iraq invasion.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
I do not have a problem with the draft as it brings the fact that war has consequences and obligations for all. If McCain is promoting the draft that our current idiot in chief so skillfully and cowardly dodged like the son of a walrus in pearls stupid rich drunk punk bitch that he was and continues to be, then McCain needs to be up front and/or called to the carpet on it here and elswhere in very excruciatingly specific terms so that the voters can make their choice accordingly.

The problem with a draft ( I was drafted by the way ) is that the rich find many ways on getting out of it whilst the working class usually is left holding the bag. It has always been this way and a new draft unfortunately, will not change a thing.

Speaking of ads, which ones do you remember? We have been bombarded so far from the primaries and now the election season and the only two I remember are the 3AM phone call and the lobbyists ad from Obama.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
the mccain ad that says he is for green energy technology (windmills in the background) sticks in my mind, in a place reserved mostly for monty python gags.
  • kirkaracha · 1 year ago
    Bill Maher:
New Rule: You can't put a windmill in your campaign ad if you voted against every single bill that might lead someone to build one. As long as you're sending a camera crew to a farm, why not just take a picture of actual bullshit.

They should add that little clip of him singing "Bomb, bomb, bomb! Bomb, bomb Iran!"

Is this ad played on television?
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
How true. There is no way around building up the troop levels he envisions to start another war or two in the name of " The War On Terror." I hope everyone refuses to be a part of it if he becomes president.

Also, that old witch wanting more of our sons and daughters to be forced into the military grinder all for her wishes. Perhaps, she should have her own crusty old ass drafted as well. Let's see how willing she is when she has to put her own life on the line or any of her kids or grandkids.

I think wars should be fought by old men and women using sticks. Let them swat at each other and beat the evil out of themselves and leave living peacefully for the younger folks. It is so easy to push people into harm's way when your own ass isn't apart of it.

You misheard him, he said "It's getting drafty in here" he wants a overcoat or shawl. He's cold, so very very cold.

Here's an idea: Tell all the "illegals" to join the military; then, if they die, they'll become citizens! And if they survive, then .... um ... um ...

"So I told the McCain/Palin ticket: Thanks ... but no thanks! If we want a Bridge To Nowhere we'll re-elect George Bush!"

    Thank You!
I've been harping on this for weeks.
This is being forwarded to everyone I know who has a kid.
