AMERICAblog: VoteVets.Org's Jon Soltz: McCain "put political PR above sound judgment"

  • FNReedie · 1 year ago
Why does this remind me so much of "Commander in Chief"? Hopefully this team will be taken off the air too.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Maybe the troops just want a pretty Commander In Chief. She doesn't have to know how to lead them.....she just needs to look fuckable with the lights on.

    It's the GOP.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Don't joke......I've been to the Rightie blogs and they are all apeshit on how pretty she is...and how they would do her.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
They should at least wash the Cheeto dust off themselves before they "do" her. She likes her men cleaned up.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
okay, we think alike... I've just got a dirtier mind I think :-)
  • the_dude_abides · 1 year ago
So does McCain...he couldn't stop checking out her ass today. Well, whenever she turned her head to acknowledge him, he would look up from it and smile. But then when she would face forward again and address the crowd, he would go right back to staring at it. Kind of brings a whole new meeting to the headline "McCain Taps Palin....as Running Mate"
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
And what the hell was going on with him pulling his wedding band around and around?!
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    I noticed that too! Hilarious!!

Kind of like the creepy old perverted Uncle...or Grandpa...
  • mikecoatl · 1 year ago
She has the ASSets to be worth a few looks, but the man was outright DROOLING over her! I am a man who finds this disconcerting. Women will be repelled!
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Oh, I wasn't joking. To subject our troops to this bullshit is just as bad a knowing that our troops are laying around Walter Reed Memorial Hospital in their own piss and doing nothing about it...until there's a leak by a journalist or soldier.

Fuck McCain and the way he's shitting on the Flag of my country.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
they'd have to pry themselves out of the couch to meet her first, wouldn't they?

the next step would be, finding your penis under the folds.

    I'm not going any further.

Sarah Palin: V.P. and M.I.L.F. in Chief!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    M.I.L.F. - Ewwwww!

    If you're into that.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
In January of 2007 I lost my job of 20 years.
The job I have now I was interviewed two times.

If John McCain has only met her one time before....was that for the first interview?

so does that mean he's never met her ever?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
    Bush = Commander Guy
    Palin = Commander Gal

2011, CINC Bunker, Camp David. President and Commander-in-Chief Palin to the Joint Chiefs of Staff: "I've killed me many a moose, and even a few polar bear, in my day, boys. And I wanna send a nukular message to that raghead Imadinnerjacket not to fuck with me! This isn't my first time at the pageant, fellas!"
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
...and get this, they are selling Palin as a UNITER and a REFORMER!
  • gsthomas606 · 1 year ago
Has anyone considered or written about the worst case scenario for this election cycle? If Obama wins the popular vote with high turnout in urban and minority areas, but due to niche demographics in key swing states John McCain is able to carry enough electoral votes to get in office could we legitimately see a situation such as that of Mai 68 in Paris with University strikes and rioting in urban areas. There is a lot of anger in the country that's not really being addressed by the media and not really being tapped in to by the Democratic party. Part of that is due to the influence of Obama, who represents hope and an appeal the the better nature of our society. If he loses in that way and you take a way that hope and replace it with a sense of disenfranchisement I could easily see the mood of the country shift to an attitude that if we aren't going to strive to restore it the next best thing is to want to watch it burn. I don't know why no one is talking about the larger issues about the flaws in our electoral system that would lead to this kind of VP pick to pander to a certain niche of voters rather than promote the best interest of the country. Clearly something is wrong and it further serves to high light the fact that not everyone's vote is equal in this country.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
It's a Republic; not a democracy; that's why everyone's vote isn't equal. It was done on purpose by the founding fathers. Get educated...
  • mikecoatl · 1 year ago
Such a scenario would likely result in a second Civil War. I wouldn't want even Obama to win that way.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
as I said in the last thread...

vetting a VP has nothing to do with the VP's job... its a decision on who would be your choice for PRESIDENT if anything happened to you.

and the repugs are attacking OBAMA as inexperienced???

    WTF?!
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    I smell ROVE...
  • MalibuBarbie · 1 year ago
Ms. Palin and Mr. McCain made a point today of saying she is the COMMANDER OF THE ALASKA NATIONAL GUARD. And she can shoot a caribou. Wonder what the top military brass thinks of that.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Here's what I just saw on a Rightie blog:

"Once Vice President, you know the ropes if something happens to the president like Gerald Ford "

Good Grief, putting her on par with Gerald Ford.

those righties are some pretty scary people.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
does that mean they're planning on mcsame being impeached, or quitting??
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
It sounds like they expect him to die if you ask me. Either that or...they are a scary group.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
You're not kidding, they are frightening!

Palin makes Stockdale look like Eisenhower.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    Stockdale! I forgot about him!!

"Who am I? Why am I here?"

    Ahh, the memories...
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
McCain only picked her because he thinks nobody knows he can't get a hardon.

    Just sayin'
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
How can the political pundits expect us to take them seriously when we know if Obama had made such a ridiculous choice it would be non-stop condemnation for putting political expediency first. McCain didn't put "country first" when he picked Palin. He is desperate, and it shows. He has put his chances at becoming President ABOVE our national security. No one can tell me Palin can make serious national security decisions with her background. Something happens to McBush and we have HER making decisions regarding our troops? As a veteran, I think McBush should hang his head in SHAME!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
The Dems need to be on the Offensive and say Before ascending to the vice-presidency, Ford served nearly 25 years as Representative from Michigan's 5th congressional district, eight of them as the Republican Minority Leader.

Give the Republicans props for selecting Gerald Ford........make that a positive.......
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Hi, I'm John McCain and I picked you a VP that I really don't know. It was the best I could do between naps.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    Palin gives me the creeps.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
The entire Republican party gives me the creeps...
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
TV is back to regular schedule. This swan-dive of a pick turned out to be the bellysmacker from Hell.
  • martha · 1 year ago
I am so naive. I continue to be amazed that the repugs show such contempt for the american people and that so many americans buy into their spin.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
This pick of McCain's is the single most irresponsible choice I have ever seen for our nation! For one thing, who the heck does Johnnie think women are? Dumb bimbos? It would appear so, but my bet is that this choice will alienate FAR mopre women than attract. Sure he may have solidifed his base, but I believe Independents will RUN from this ticket.

Did you know she wants to teach Creationism in schools? I thought we got over that when Kansas turned around and voted out the Republicans., but it seems we have to worry once more.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
McCain is showing what he really thinks of women. He thinks women who are looking to protect their right to choose are stupid enough to pick someone simply because she has "the right parts."
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Let's face it, Mr. Mc (rhymes with Runt) likes to curse and humiliate his wife in public, thinks women shouldn't get equal pay because they really need to go back to school and now its evident that he thinks we are all stupid. Well, I guarantee you that this is raising hackles of most women, except for the right wing nutz...they are hopeless.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
Yeah, it blew me away that she is a creationist. Shocking that we are giving college degrees to people with so little foundation in basic science that they would espouse this "doctrine".

She does seem to be poised and personable. The pundits on msnbc (sorry I wasn't really paying attention to who--it wasn't rachel or keith, most of the others sort of blur. it was on Tweety's show I guess) were saying she would be tough for Biden to debate because she is pretty articulate.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
What they meant was that she was a she thus Biden and Obama would have to kowtow to her. Simple, sexism in reverse...
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
I am speechless. The stupidity of McCain's choice is jaw-droppingly stunning. Why isn't every person on earth screaming about how absurd this is. NO ONE in the mainstream media is screaming about this. And AOL users by a good majority think Palin is a great choice!!!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
RIDICULOUS... I can not IMAGINE anyone thinking this is a good choice. I am SCARED for our country by his choice.

Number one: it proves how out of touch and what poor judgment McCain has.
Number two: it is just damned scary to think she would be within a heart beat of the Presidency.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Mission Accomplished, 2011. Eye-ran destroyed. President and Commander Gal Palin (and MILF in Chief) alights on deck of aircraft carrier. From a chopper. Dressed as Playboy Bunny. She frugs in white go-go boots to "Proud to be an American." Inspiration: her "Daddy McCain"s favorite flick: "Apocalypse Now."

That cross-eyed sour puss from PUMA, Darragh Murphy, is such a bitch. Can you believe she would still support voting for McCain, and OUTRIGHT LYING about how Republicans have somehow stolen Obama's thunder? That fool would sell women's rights down the road to ensure Hillary might get elected in four years. Is she IN LOVE with Hillary Clinton? Remember, Darragh, Hillary said it wasn't about her. Darragh is an idiot and MSNBC needs to stop plastering her face all over the "tee vee" because she is deranged. WTF?!!? What planet is that freak Darragh from? PUKE!!!
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    That woman is:
    1. NUTZ
    2. A Republican

Thus I would believe ANYTHING about her (she is a she, isn't she?)

planet "Dorchester", the neighborhood of Boston that ben Affleck captured exactly right in "Gone, Baby, Gone". She apparently now has some money and lives in one of the toney suburbs. I think she doesn't fit in that 'hood, and has gone a bit beserk...

How many homes does Sarah Palin own?

    What does her husband do?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
    3. Works as a roustabout for BP (formerly Amoco) and fishes commercially during the season. And, according to the investigative journalists in AK, big Todd calls the shots on all personnel firings.
  • 2008 · 1 year ago
If I wasn't fired up before, I'm fired up now.

This bitch Palin is the same bitch that every
    environmental group has been complaining
about. She ordered the wholesale slaughter
and aerial hunting of a barely recovering
    American wolf population, despite overwhelming
opposition and scientific concern. Oh, she literally
rejoiced--shoot 'em down for fun from airplanes.
She also wants Americans to be able to hunt Polar
Bears, which is insane!! When I heard that
she loves "moose stew," that was disturbing,
    but it's just the beginning....

    She's seriously dangerous and determined
to declare open season on big mammals, all
wildlife and their National Parks and Refuges!
All for the glory of Big Oil!! Bought and sold--
    that is McCain,
    now.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
This afternoon, when MSNBC had on Andrea What-her-name, Chris Matthews was asking her about the problems with her candidacy which Ms thang didn't want to discuss. When Chris brought up issues of National Security, Andrea said "oh John McCain will do all of that, it's not important for her...she likes to eat Moose burgers".

I kid you not...Miss Thang denigrated National Security and eschewed eating moose. She positively wet herself today...
  • 2008 · 1 year ago
Seriously, people, this woman is merciless!!! What a
bitch to order hundreds of wolves slaughtered after
just getting off the endangered species list, like the
    week before, literally.
It's not sport either to hunt them down, young & old
like that. It took years to get up to hundreds left. It is
    just cruel.
She wants the same rights to hunt polar bears! Even
though they're still on the list, she's suing to get them off of it.
If you kill the polar bears off, then Big Oil drilling and degradation can go into high gear. It's just stupid and disgusting.
  • 2008 · 1 year ago
No wonder they took Kerry off the air, he clearly made the point that McCain has gone schizo. McCain used to be good on the environment (years ago), but now he's the total opposite. McCain chose a major anti-Enviro. bitch. (excuse the language, but I'm torqued out about this!) She has a terrible record in barely 2 years.

MCCAIN IS A HYPOCRITE of STELLAR PROPORTIONS!
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
She takes credit for having killed the bridge to nowhere. But help me out, Alaskans (if any of you are here) -- didn't the state keep the money appropriated for the bridge? Earmark reform, my foot.
  • pilgrim_billy99 · 1 year ago
    This is classic:

State Senate President Lyda Green said she thought it was a joke when someone called her at 6 a.m. to tell her the news.

"She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? said Green, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"

I want to know more about her "Creationism" delusion. I read somewhere that she explained that dinosaur bones were put into the ground by "Satan" to confound the unbelievers. Does she live on FlatEarth? Does FlatEarth balance on the back of a turtle standing on the back of an elephant standing on the back of a turtle standing on the back of an elephant? Or is it a tortoise?
  • JamesR · 1 year ago
Dude, don't you know that Satan put all those fossils there as a temptation to challenge our Faith? Of course all that 'evidence' was purposely put there by the Horned One to lead us astray! Since the Earth is only about 6000 years old, how could dinosaurs be millions of years old? Sure the Earth isn't flat, now, as the Bible really doesn't say otherwise in so many words. That turtle nonsense is pagan Red Indian and Chinese. Come on now. Get real.

I am so sorry I could not make that funnier, I was constrained by what they actually believe. I really, REALLY wish I were making this up.

Anything else we need to know?

Well, here it is, and color me UNIMPRESSED:

"Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, who came so close to being the first major party woman presidential candidate, said in a statement: "We should all be proud of Gov. Sarah Palin's historic nomination, and I congratulate her and Sen. McCain. While their policies would take America in the wrong direction, Gov. Palin will add an important new voice to the debate."

I may have to rethink my glowing reviews of her support...but I'll wait and see what happens...
