No, see, the cute girl with the braids was an assassin.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    LOL.

She was shot a second after the photo was taken because they thought she was wired with explosives.

She wasn't, but it was no time to take chances.

I watched AC's "exclusive" with Obama when he was in Charlotte; Obama was joking about how his down time included watching "360" when he could, and the ungracious AC retorted, "No pandering..." or something to that effect. What a tool he's turned out to be.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Drives me nuts when they all pick up each others' reporting and go with it without examining it.

I forget the NY Times article they all ran with a few weeks ago but I was thinking that was such an example of piss-poor journalism.

Journalism 101 says you have to go back and confirm a story with sources before you run a version of it yourself.

I swear, these TV people must have no journalism background whatsoever.

Ruh Ro. Is it too late to go back to the "Barack is a Muslim" rumor?

Hmm. Imagine that. Journalists looking for truth, instead of parroting each other or the government's talking points. Good luck, Anderson, you're about to be branded un-American.

In this age of technology/information how can any public person think they can lie about easily verifiable facts...note to Hillary: almost everyfucking body now has a camera on their cell phone. Stick with the facts ma'am.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
There is no downside to lying. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice, Meirs, Libby, Fliescher, Perrino, Gonzalez, Ashcroft, McCain, hell I can't even remember all of them, lied every day about everything that was discussed. Not a single one lost their jobs, not a single one went to jail, not a single one lost $1 in income and not a single one was called a liar. We have video, audio, first hand accounts, print media, corroborating witnesses to the lying and it all means less than nothing. Our politicians have learned that we are soooooooo stuuuuuuuuupid that we forgot what they said they day after they said it. So they just continue to lie, spin, lie, spin as we say "MORE PLEASE".
  • dula · 1 year ago
True Dat. I guess I used to hold Democrats to a higher standard...but then again Hillary has proved herself to be a Moderate Republican.

  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Well, she does have her head down.

    LOL.
  • Tizzy · 1 year ago
OT, but it just occurred to me. Didn't New Mexico go for Hillary? Is it okay for BR to go against the will of the people in his state and back Obama? If so, is it then okay for other supers to do so?
  • scooter in brooklyn · 1 year ago
by 1% - but the supers aren't bound by their states primaries.
  • Tizzy · 1 year ago
I know that they can back whoever they want, but hasn't the argument been that it would be wrong to do so?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Fine with me.

I never thought all the Supers would think Hillary's the best candidate anyway.

Most of them remember the 90s, when they lost seats in Congress and Governorships and paid a downticket price for the Clinton's shenanigans.
  • AngelaChanning · 1 year ago
I think this is among the many issues with the whole Superdelegate setup. It really is capricious. I guess they want a circuit breaker in case some nut is ahead and the voters have buyer's remorse.

The other thing that we need to do is adopt shorter election cycles. I sometimes feel drained watching this all play out. It also depresses me to see the Clintons go down this way. It is all in slow motion.

I recognized the Clintons had their faults but I honestly thought they had matured and learned from their past. However, they really have showed that crazy Clinton anger and drama -- which really is not becoming. If she were the nominee, I would still vote for Hillary because I think we will possibly have a Supreme Court vacancy (Heaven forbid for death, but possibly for retirement....after all, Justice Stevens won't retire until a Democrat is president. is elected).

    Thank you for listening.
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
Yes Tizzy, by a margin of 1% I believe. Like I tell all hillary supporters, I would LOVE to see all SDs go the way their states vote. It would put Obama over the top in no time.
  • Tizzy · 1 year ago
The 1% margin does seem to allow for some wiggle room though.

  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
John, the picture you displayed is AFTER the battle and that is a grateful Bosnian child (whom Hillary single handedly snatched from the swirls of sniper fire, clearly saving her life!!!) showing her love and devotion. She was quoted as saying (in broken English due to the schools Hillary single handily built for them that includes English as part of their curriculum!!!), "God Bless Hillary. God Bless America". And Angels wept.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
No no no. That was the beginning of the battle and the little girl was bait to lure our unsuspecting savioress into the gun sights of pure metaphysical evil itself. Fortunately God intervened. No really.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
But, just before she could detonate the bombs hidden in her braid, John McCain lunged from the shadows, hollering "kill the gooks!" and threw his body on the terrorist child, sacrificing himself to save the Queen!

I just want to say that I find it scary that this is March, and already everybody is not only picking sides, but damning the other side. I'm going to vote Democrat no matter what. However, in many ways, I find Obama scary, mostly because I don't know him at all except for speeches. I'm old, my first vote was for Lyndon Johnson, I've met Harry Truman and John Kennedy in person. and the last time I've had real money in my pocket was when Bill Clinton was President. I know that if Obama is nominated, the Republicans won't have to spend a penny in the South, the'll have the bigot vote tied up.If you think that this is 2008 and times have changed, then I think you're being intellectually dishonest. Maybe he'll win, I hope if he gets the nomination that he does. Personally, I'm for Gore - Clinton, or Gore- Obama, or Clinton 1 term - Obama
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
If you think the repubs won't have to fight for the south, you are woefully misinformed about what it's like down here. NC and VA come into play with Obama and Obama only. Clinton can win Arkansas. That's it for Dixie.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
You're entitled to your opinion but, believe me, there's nothing to be scared about.

Go to his web site and explore it.

There is a reason why most of the major Dems are supporting him, you know.

(Oh, and it's well known that Hillary and Gore don't like each other, so don't count on that ticket.)
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
I'm sure many of your age bracket when JFK ran had the same reservations, which is understandable. JFK proved his youth and fresh, untainted approach was the light all Americans needed. Thank goodness there were enough people willing to trust their hearts and choose change over staus quo. I envy you. I would have loved to have met the man. Please help us elect Barack Obama. We need you. :)
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Remember, without those voters taking a chance on JFK, we would have a completely different country now. Nixon would have been elected. He only lost by a hair and it send shivers up my spine realizing how close we came to never knowing JFK. Nixon's goons have resurfaced and multiplied since Reagan, but fortunately that taste of JFK has kept the fire alive for another inspirational LEADER. Barack Obama is our chance again.
  • mush57 · 1 year ago
To be honest, I didn't find Kennedy that inspirational when he ran , I remember a debate between him and Nixon and them arguing about islands off the coast of China BORING.. He got better after he was elected, I did join the Peace Corps. But all in all, I thought that Johnson was the better President. He actually got passed all the things Kennedy wanted. That's why I'm not necessarily overwhelmed by great speakers and am more considerate of political plodders.
  • Rustyzipper · 1 year ago
Hillary is the most untrustworthy politician out there. She will lie, cheat and smile in your face. She has lost this race but she won't concede until she feels she's done enough damage to hurt Sen. Obama.

I wish the MSM would get some balls and start pointing this out.

its funny how every negative crap they try to throw at obama always hit clinton on the head.

3am - the girl makes her ad against clinton
rezko - a picture is found with billary and rezko
wright - billary invited him to the white house proving wright is not a crazed "anti-american".

cnn is going to do a story on the girl's ad this hour
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago

Change of Thread: Our fantastic State Department is now changin the story and sayin files of all three presidential candidates were accessed improperly but more deliciously SD spokesman Scott McCormack lost his cool when a Greek reporter asked a question and thern parenthetically said it seemed like Watergate all over again or something of the like. According to the NYT McCormack told him he has lost his credentials and wouldn't recognioze him for the rest of the interview or press concerence or whatever they were calling it.
You're doing a hell of a job Scotty!
Now with any luck both Condi AND Scotty will be cleaning out their desks.

Your candidate Obama claims to be the great uniter but from reading this blog it seems are if his followers on here are anything but. If you guys can't heal and unite the Democratic Party how in the world can you unite the nation? So far I have read little on here that would make me want to change my mind and vote for Obama.

  • Demo_Dave · 1 year ago
Sorry but you have to do better than say change and yes we can to impress me and if you think you can win with just the black vote and the far left of the democratic party your not that smart, you need the votes of the undecided like me.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
    Let's skip your vote.
  • Demo_Dave · 1 year ago
You can do that and you will be watching as McCain enters the room and Hail to the Chief plays...Have it your way...
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
I am reading Obamas book "The Audacity of Hope". As an independent voter, this has helped me see what kind of president Obama would be.

So, that is my advice if you want to discover for yourself why I now think Obama will be a positive agent for change in this country. The chapter on the Constitution was a gem in itself, btw.
  • Demo_Dave · 1 year ago
You maybe right but since that book was based on a sermon by Rev. Wright I don't see a lot of middle America voters reading it now.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
I understand. In that case go to his website and take a good, long read. Listen to his speeches of change, inclusion and the return to true American ideals.
I did and it lead me to believe that Obama is the right candidate at the right time. McCain and Hillary both represent nothing but the continuing failures of policies past. Obama is the right person to lead our nation at this time. IMHO.
  • Demo_Dave · 1 year ago
I'm a undecided voter at this point. I'm not all that impressed with speeches and I'm really concerned with Obamas friends. As far as failures of the past I thought Bill Clinton left office a 68% approval rating and had taken a dismal economy and turned it around. I was a union member and remember the good times under Clinton and the loss of jobs and benefits under Reagan. so I'll take the Clinton days back any old time. What really amazes me from reading Obama friendly blogs is that his supporters are not all like his message. They are harsh Clinton haters who have no message of uniting the party.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    You're worried about Obama's friends?

Take a look at the characters the Clintons hang around with.

Honest and angry is worse than crooked and sleazy.

    Got it.
  • Demo_Dave · 1 year ago
I will more than likely support Obama if he wins the nomination. But I can tell you right now when I was younger I beat the sidewalks working for the Democratic Party my first campaign was McGovern. You guys are only fooling yourself with this self righteous attitude you need every undecided you can get. The Republican 527's are gearing up now to make Rev. Wright Obamas Willie Horton. If you don't think it will work remember the swift boat veterans. you guys need to get a lot nicer about how you try to win people over I don't know if your honest and angry but right now Obama is falling in the polls because his friends appear to be crooked sleazy and bigots and the republicans haven't even touched him yet.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    And don't lie.

You aren't undecided, unless it's between Hillary and McCain.

  • Jeremy in Denver · 1 year ago
Concern Troll. It is as old as the internets...

    It's been dis-recommended too.

All its posts are saying is that it'll never vote for Obama. Well, that's alright. This is a free country and it can vote as it wishes, but I hope that it will understand that we believe it'd never vote for Obama period. In other words, it is transparent.

Obama is being held accountable for two 30 second sound bites taken from over 30 years of his preacher's sermons and a statement of fact about the role racism plays in the United States. Unfortunately, America is all about the soundbite and the knee-jerk reaction and none about thoughtful discourse and careful consideration. This is what is giving this story legs, that and the bought-and-paid-for media that desparately does NOT want another Kennedy in government -- they'd rather a McCain or Clinton presidency because that would further their agenda.

In the case that happens, well, this great country will suffer even more, and the things that prompted Wright to say 'God Damn America' will continue unabated.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
This coming from a troll who posts a YouTube smear vid of Forest Gump calling Obama a racist? LOL
  • Measured_Response · 1 year ago
I have read many responses to the topic at hand but almost thought I was on the wrong thread as the majority of responses are off topic, nonetheless I'll toss my 2 cents in the ring, not that it matters.

I might have agreed with the resulting opinion of "lie or lies" until I had seen an update as follows:
    " UPDATE Friday 6:45 p.m.
Lissa Muscatine, who served as Hilary Clinton's chief speechwriter in 1996 and accompanied her on the Bosnia trip, feels that I have failed to provide a full picture of what took place. She gave me her "vivid recollections" of the arrival in Tuzla, which I quote below:

I was on the plane with then First Lady Hillary Clinton for the trip from Germany into Bosnia in 1996. We were put on a C17-- a plane capable of steep ascents and descents -- precisely because we were flying into what was considered a combat zone. We were issued flak jackets for the final leg because of possible sniper fire near Tuzla. As an additional precaution, the First Lady and Chelsea were moved to the armored cockpit for the descent into Tuzla. We were told that a welcoming ceremony on the tarmac might be canceled because of sniper fire in the hills surrounding the air strip. From Tuzla, Hillary flew to two outposts in Bosnia with gunships escorting her helicopter."

I don't want to give Hillary Clinton a 100% pass and I don't want to give her a 100% lie. Until I see more information I'm going to go with "embellishing a situation and or surroundings".

On a side note I have noticed the Washington Post article has a video link that goes to NEWS BUSTERS.org If anybody has the time to read NewsBusters.org main page you will find their slogan reads like this:
Exposing and Combating Liberal Media Bias

I won't speak for anyone else but my ears turned red when I read that slogan. It amkes me wonder what kind of bedfellows Washington Post keeps.
