How low can they go? Oh how about making sure every Obama vote counts twice on McSame because of voting machine crime. That's a good start.
  • Rev_Sacrilege · 1 year ago
Oh, I think we'll be hearing soon about how Michelle Obama, as a six year old, accidently left her puppy outside, after which time it got hit by a car. (or some other equally irrelevant and pointless smear)

The Repugs have made nothing off-limits.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
I also watched the Today Show. They edited the clip of McCain telling Pennsylvania voters "I couldn't agree more" that they're racists. That line was missing from the tape that was played.
  • JohnInTexas · 1 year ago
I may just watch SNL to get a recap of the stupid shit McDeathRattle and Moosebreath do during the week, well and Olbermann and Rachel too.

    Negative ads from McBush?

How about just flat out ATTACK ADS? Because that's what they are...we get the same thing here in NC which could possibly go blue (it's neck and neck now).

McBush would crap his pants if he loses NC but people are tired of his shitty campaign here.

When's Obama going to remind everyone of The Patriot Act?

Only Anti-American terrorists would have found it amusing.

We're being spied on and Obama says nothing.

How American can John McCain be and still vote for The Patriot Act?

    Breakfast TV Yawping Heads:

It's the Double Standard! It took brave ballsy Sarah herself to point out the obvious: the media is in the tank for Joe Biden, giving him free pass after free pass for all his gaffes, while she is getting "hounded" and "clobbered"! Just look at the laundry list of Joe's gaffes, as rattled off by a ticked-off Kilmeade: dozens of gaffes from the Human Gaffe Machine. Even Mika noted that yesterday Biden must have been kept locked up and muzzled (reminding us all of Hannibal Lecter!). Imagine all the crap that comes out of his mouth coming out of Sarah's sugarlips! And yet all he gets is respect for being in the Senate for 35 years, while she gets mocked, ridiculed, and beaten down. It's so sexist! And even her boffo performance on SNL is just, according to Chucky T, playing into the bad image the media has created about her. A woman can't get no breaks!

Still, as Mika enthused, Sarah is looking "fabulous" while going on the attack about Joe's free ride. And yes, $150K for her election wardrobe is a lot, but it's not taxpayer money and what about those fancy suits Obama wears, huh? Nothing gets Mika's and Chrystia's dander up like THAT double standard, too. "Styling is expensive." and Mika should know! She defiantly harrumphed, "I'm going to take her side!" even as the outraged and probably obscene txt msgs poured like polluted rain into her Crackberry.

Nothing about Sarah's faboo wardrobe mentioned by Gretchen, however, since Misses America know how to keep it real--something they learn on the pageant circuit. Instead, the double standard that outraged Fox and Friends was McCain having to reveal ALL his health records, while Gaffemeister Joe's "brain scan" is a big mystery. He had TWO brain aneurysms, and that MAY account for all those "brain farts" the media ignore. Where are Joe's brain scans, dammit?! If Sarah Palin were inarticulate, incoherent, prone to gaffes, and unpredictable in her thought processes, we'd all want her brain scans, too!

America HATES all these "double standards," and LOVES when Sarah looks fabulous. So while Obama's lead is in the double digits now, McCain's "back is up" (quoth Mika) and he's at his best when his back is up! And America is getting to realize that while he wants to Grow the Pie, Obama just wants to give the whole pie away to people on welfare by spreading the pie around. And America hates his flip-flopping on the World Series! Pie and baseball are what matter to the American People, and Obama is out of touch on both. ALl of which means: Sarah--they're sketching out the additional walk-in closet (1000 square feet!) at Observatory Circle, just for all the high fashion from Saks Nieman-Marcus you were REQUIRED to have just to be competitive against Obama and his expensive suits!
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Mikka also claimed, "for balance" she said, that Mr. Obama's suits "cost more than most people's mortgage payments"...I hate that the habit of morning teevee is so ingrained that I end up watching parts of Mourning Joe.
My 'waiting for the Robert Gibbs interview' excuse just isn't working anymore.
Daytime teevee, the crutch to McCain's cripple...
  • maggiePA08 · 1 year ago
Mikas response when informed that Obama pays for his own suits? "Oh."
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
I think Mika is trying to be balanced so she can get her own show. Notice her special politics coverage with Mike Barnicle today? The little bit I saw of it, she was verrrrry balanced.

I'm maxed out - I just want the election held and the results in. I don't know how I'm going to go to work on election day I'm so tied up in knots. I've never been as emotional as the level I'm on now, I've been found myself wiping away tears over the last couple of days at the thought of a Republican defeat, I just want the Repubs out of leadership. I don't know how anxious others are feeling.

    I want America back.
  • Charles2 · 1 year ago
I'm on the same rollercoaster ride of emotions... i can hardly sit still to watch the news, i'm not sleeping well, I just have this sense of dread hanging over me that I'm sure will stay there until November 5th.

I can only hope that we all wake up that morning to good news.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
No, November 5th, you will wake up to Republicans screaming for Obama's impeachment and for his head to be chopped off for the god awful, evil crime of stepping on a crack or that he betrayed the nation, the world and the human race by stepping into the Oval Office leading with is wicked, evil, liberal, Commie left foot instead of his right foot. It won't get better after Obama's elected, if anything it will be worse. We'll be hearing how no N----- is fit to enter the Oval Office except to sweep, dust and dump the trash cans.

Most of you don't remember how the Republicans screamed that Jimmy Carter should be shot on the White House lawn for being so traitorous as to wear a cartigan sweater instead of a suit coat on one of his Saturday morning fireside chats on TV." Carter disgraced us before the world, humiliated us and dragged this great country through the mud. Execute him, burn him at stake, stake him out on an ant hill, ... Crucify him! Crucify him! Crucify him."

There was also that the Republicans screamed again and again that Carter was nothing but a stupid, Georgia peanut farmer. In reality, Carter had been nuclear scientist and worked on the nuclear submarines. During the second campaign even Democrats supporting Carter told us he was a dumb peanut farmer, but that was beteer than electing a Republican. It was effective enough that a failed B-movie actor beat Carter. And that actor had been upstaged not by a child actor, but a chimpazee.

Then there was the corporate media announcing that they would no longer cover Clinton's press conferences or broadcast them as Clinton had nothing worthwhile to say. Of course, that was in preparation for Bush hiding from press conferences as Bush was too vacuuous, stupid, inept and mistaken prone to risk exposure in regular press conferences.
  • cab02149 · 1 year ago
If true, I'm concerned about the republican's destroying the Obama presidency AFTER it begins, I foresee more of the same right wing attacks as part of a concerted effort to establish the permanent republican majority. Unless the Anti-trust laws can be reestablished, which can break up the media first, the current MSM will shape the image of Obama and his presidency in favor of the Republicans. As it should be years before our economy is brought back to serving us, there will be countless opportunities to blame Obama. Realizing that he is black, intelligent, sophisticated, fair qualities which will be attacked, let alone what he does and what a democratic congress does. We are dealing with criminals, allowed to live among us. The constitution never envisioned Mass biased media and an ignorant population.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
As corporate cable tries to minimize Mooselini's new pagent clothes without mentioning the rest of the family's new duds, it's worth noting that, politically, the time to buy the clothing was BEFORE the national exposure of Family Palin's arrival at the GIP, er, GOP convention.
I mean, who sees little Muffler or Poptart nowadays?
The Minneapolis airport arrival, when Johnny stroked Levi's arm, seared the Palin's cheap outlet clothing too deep for last minute cosmetic triage.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Please, please on election day advise all AmericaBloggers to go and vote no matter how early the media predicts Obama the winner. We want to give Obama a landslide popular vote as well as an electoral one, and all of us, as you roll across the country to the Pacific, want to get our Democratic senators and representatives elected as well as pass ballot measures close to our hearts.
  • brian · 1 year ago
I don't trust the polls and I think the vote is going to be closer than we expect. John McCain has nothing to lose, so he will continue to use negative ads to try to divide the country. If Obama wins looks for the Republicans and the "joe six pack" to try to do everything to get to Obama. We saw it during Clinton's Presidency and I expect it during an Obama Presidency. Amazingly enough, the same group of people feel that Bush, who lost the popular vote in 2000, is legitimate.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
They are desperate, and disgusting. They are reaching deep into the cesspit, and bringing up all the muck now, and throwing it at Obama.
So far, thankfully, the American people, at least the majority of them, have
shown some sensibility, and not believed the crap.

They show great hypocrisy, when the so called "hockey mom" is adorned with designer brands, and they show hypocrisy when they accuse their opponents of one thing, and are found guilty of the very same.

I cannot wait for this damn election to be over. It has caused too much stress to this nation, and the McCain/Palin campaign, has not cared a damn for the American people. Like Bush, they have shown a ruthless willingness, to divide this country, just to win an election.

Sarah needed a makeover. She has certainly received this for her makeup and hair. And her outfits, while fitting for low life red neck admirers were dreadful. What's $150 K if it makes Sara more appealing to the educated? ;-)

"Sarah and Todd are looking good?' Maybe he is because he's a DILF but she looks like faux Chanel / DKNY warmed over. Girlfriend, get yourself a good faggot stylist! Then again, honey, you won't be needin' your faux Chanel on November 5th anyway. Just your caribou coat to keep warm in Wassila. Mush, you husky bitches! San Francisco, California) A new poll, taken for a Catholic group opposed to same-sex marriage, shows that support is widening for a proposed amendment to ban gay unions in California.

The survey, conducted by Marist College Institute of Public Opinion, found the proposed amendment now has a 9 percentage point lead among likely voters — 52 percent to 43 percent.

DO NOT LET THE RELIGIOUS GROUPS TO HAVE THE POWER TO BAN GAY MARRIAGE. WE MUST ALL FIGHT PROP 8! SEND MONEY TO NO ONPROP 8! THEY ARE BEING OUT RAISED AND OUTSPENT BY MORMONS!

Here is a link to a video of a woman trying to do a citizen's arrest on Karl Rove in San Francisco. What a ballsy thing to try and pull off.

    http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/b...

By the way Rove blames the financial collapse on deregulation by Dems and even gets offended over Kerry saying McCain wears Depends. George Mitchell takes a final shot which is excellent.

There has not been a campaign that ends still being negative and won. We just need to tighten ranks and deflect the negative and VOTE. Tell everyone that polls do not matter- go and vote like we are behind in the polls. The underdog want us to think we don't need to get everyone to vote- wrong! We want every vote for the mandate of change.
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
Vote like we are behind in the polls, but not so far behind we can't win! ;-)

Last week, I commented on another blog about the false equivalencies being drawn between Sarah Palin being booed at a Flyers game, and McCain/Palin supporters yelling "kill him" at campaign rallies. In response to my comment another commenter remarked: "G'kar was the name of a celebrated blogger who was killed in Iraq. Perhaps it is in poor taste for you to appropriate his name."

Having never heard of this "celebrated" blogger before, I was somewhat taken aback by the accusation of "poor taste" in "appropriating" his name. For the record, I have been commenting on several blogs under the name G'kar for seven years. So, I don't feel under any obligation to stop using my current pen name.

I would, however, like to know more about this blogger with whom I unknowingly shared a pen name for an indeterminate period of time. So, I'm offering a thread on my own blog- http://wwwgkar.blogspot.com/2008...o-was- gkar.html -as a space for those who may have been familiar with the late blogger G'kar to share their memories and experiences of (her? him?).

Maybe this link will help, I tried it at your blog but not sure if it went through...His name was Andy Olmstead, he was a blogger/soldier that was killed in Iraq last January. This link goes to a posthumous blog entry he wrote to be published in the event of his death. I will warn you, it's a tough read...

People are all gaga over Sarah Palins wardrobe expenses but they are missing the big picture. Palin loves what her political can give her FREE OF CHARGE. She is living the good life off the back of taxpayers. Consider:

Cut Wasilla budget to obtain new office decorations and a SUV
Her home built by a contractor which may have done a lot of work for free
Billed Alaska to live at home
Billed Alaska for family travel charges, some at luxury hotels
Not only received money for a new wardrobe for herself but also her family including a $300 stroller.

It seems Mrs. Palin is becoming an expert in "living the good life" without spending a nickel of her own money. This is the big picture. She is a fairly young politician but she has already figured out the financial advantages (wrongly) of running for office.

The negative ads are all the Republicans in central Florida have left. They are so unhappy that sewage spills from their mouths. It will be interesting to see how it all sorts itself out in the "homeland" of Senator Mel Martinez.

The local Log Cabin Club has been active but behind the posturing, many of them plan to vote for the Democrat. The local Rainbow Democrats Club sent out a postcard with voting preferences indicated but there hasn't been further contact or outreach. They're not very active outside their Hillary-circle. Sad.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
McCain could help himself with ads with just him, not in front of a green background, speaking about his love and desire to serve his country, to work with DEM congress to balance the ideology, blah blah

luckily, he doesn't call me for advice

If negative ads are so bad, why does AmericaBlog go so negative on John McCain's? All you do is deride him and Palin all day. If I only read your site, I'd probably have forgotten by now who the hell John McCain is even running against.
