Rumors are flying around the GOP that McSame will nominate Larry Craig as Veep. Since the campaign is already in the TOILET, the GOP figures Senator Craig is an expert on toilets.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Maybe he can help John McCain get a handle on things.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Country is going down the toilet anyway so why not.

There's nothing good about this morning, IMHO. Look closely: we're no longer a nation of laws, but of (wo)men who no long respect us, the common people, in spite of their dream-like rhetoric.

McBush is just the most visible example (right now) of a jackass and corrupt politician.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
McCain is consistently devoid of command over basic factual information. He can't hide this forever.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
    No shit, Klein.

I exchange emails with an 84 yr old WWII vet who served with the 82nd Airborne and fought the German fascists. He, too, is disgusted with this cabal, and the Dems who have enabled it and will let the whole lot get away with their crimes. He considers himself a progressive, left of center, and can't understand the actions of the Dems during this criminal enterprise called BushCo.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
Yes but did he vote for bush twice in a row?? Or even once? Cause if he did, we dont need his conversion/guilt ridden soul on our side.... he was bamboozled like alot of stupid americans,.... sorry to say, you all know there are a ton of them. "i see stupid REPUKES"
  • TomJoad · 1 year ago
More convinced than ever. McCain is a decoy. They still have to actually make him their nominee at the convention, but I see him dropping out in humiliation, ("time with my family..trophy wife, etc.", or "health issues") with some cover story, and someone else being sprung on us.

He is so phenomenally bad, even as hard as CBS tries to help him...they can't be SERIOUS in the GOP with Roves' devious mind that THIS is the guy to run the US.

And you know what Cheney does to decoys...watch as McCain gets asked out on a hunting trip with Dicky-boy and his twenty-ought....in October
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I don't care about anything Klein has to say anymore. Most of the time they're totally wrong and harmful but when that rare time they're right, you quote them like they're an expert. Who cares what they say at this point.

Barack Obama, en fête around the world, will one day learn that there is no magical cure for the envy of others. What makes America the indispensable power (and even more indispensable in the era of the new China), is precisely what makes anti-Americanism inevitable.

mcCain is only showing his true conservative republican beliefs. they are the better race, the whiter race, the intelligent race, the right race, the money and corporate race. the little rainbow democrats are not worth their time or energy. i wonder sometimes, no often, how these people keep getting re-elected to office. they are one hood short of the klan. sad very sad. the republicans can still steal this election.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Fucking let them steal this election. The democrats are the Constitution doesn't poll well, party.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
That Scott Kleeb sure is a handsome feller.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
Ha!! I agree. I gave him money and told the campaign manager that while I don't choose candidates based on looks, I thought Kleeb was almost as cute as Obama. He replied that he supported Biden. (Biden, being handsome as well!)
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Seems Obama is a major superstar in Germany despite Merkel trying to stop him to protect McCain. Obama is so popular, a doll maker is making an action figure of Obama that he expects will make him millions in profit. When asked If he also planned on a McCain doll, he replied he didn't think McCain had the personality to translate into a doll. Of course, he just isn't using enough imagination.
  • MaudGonne · 1 year ago
RealClearPolitics, which tracks all the main opinion polls and publishes an average, shows McCain is only slightly behind Obama, 46% to 41%.

McCain is seeking a way to wrest the headlines back from Obama and there is some media speculation that he could announce his choice of vice-president this week. He is due to visit New Orleans on Thursday, an unusual location given that Louisiana is not a battlefield state, and that could point to Bobby Jindal, the governor of the state, whose relative youth - he is 37 - and Asian Indian background could be a counter to Obama.

    He's also an exorcist.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
People can receive a spirit but not like Jindal believes by watching Hollywood's, The Exorcist. And Hollywood's portrayal of witches and my religion isn't accurate, either.

The people are so dumb in this state that they're actually crazy. They scare me they're so dumb. I tried everything I could to talk to people not to vote for him but they did and now the same ones who pushed him on us want him recalled. It's nuts.
  • TomJoad · 1 year ago
Not JUST dumb...dumb and MEAN. As in, talking glibly about "nukin' 'em" and support more of the reign of terror on others, and torture (44% in the US think it should be allowed "on terrorists") and upheaval of right to a trial...the list goes on and on. But I think SOME of them are finally getting sick of the hatefest against everyone and everything.

It must be hard for McPain to run against a great candidate like Obama.
Obama has such a wonderful personality, and he is a great orator. He is young, energetic, and even shoots the hoop with elegance. McPain obviously feels like chopped liver. His remarks about Obama are ugly and uncalled for, but you are right, it is desperation, and envy. McPain makes gaffe after gaffe, everyday, and grimaces when he tries to smile.

When I look at the polls it reminds me of the 2000 elections. Half of this country were idiotic to vote for the failure we have in the WH. The country is in shambles, people have been killed in an unnecessary war, the tax cuts for the rich did not help anyone, but the rich. Still, can you believe it, the same idiots now want to vote for McPain, who will continue with these BS policies?
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
A very serious statement for McShame to make, so then why the creepy sneer after making it?? Should have kept his serious face on. Rove apparently didn't tell him not to smile.

There isn't a goddamn thing to watch on TV this morning. OK, putting in this movie I checked out from the library, Blood Diamond, with Leonardo DiCaprio. Don't know if I'm up to the drama, though.
  • glasses_guys_mom · 1 year ago
the rest of us are too busy to watch TV because we're working our jobs asshat

OT, but my son made the comment last night that this neighborhood is going to hell in a handbasket, with more and more people in it turning to hard drugs like meth and crack. We have 2 drug dealers within a block of us (everyone knows about them) and it's constant traffic out here in the boonies. We suspect the county deputies go and get their stuff from them (they sure as hell don't make any arrests, just "visit" the residences). This is also the neighborhood where the elderly are attacked by druggies. My son has no social life as he's afraid to leave me alone at night. When he has to go out of town to work, it's even worse.

Even the York, SC coroner (elected as a Rethug) who was actually acquitted in a cocaine trafficking case (w/his girlfriend) last month even after he had been suspended since 2006 for another cocaine charge, was caught in Lincolnton, the county seat here, driving his official SC Blazer, drinking and with a crack-smoking male companion (funeral home employee) in the passenger seat while at a convenience store. The passenger was observed using a soda can to smoke the crack--by a county cop. Since the coroner had been found guilty of a lesser crime earlier (having half a Viagra pill w/o an Rx), he violated probation, and after declaring in a fit of hubris he wouldn't quit his job, reconsidered and quit anyway.

Breakfast TV: Why won't Obama admit the surge has worked?! Does he want to lose the war, instead of his campaign, like McCain, who is a war-winner and war hee-ro, says? Why won't he listen to America's war-winningest general, General Petraeus?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
those who will continue to vote republican after the fiasco of bush are heavily invested in keeping things as they are...it doesn't matter to them if McCain is competent or not, as long as their interests are protected.

we have to overwhelm them this time.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    note to Katie Couric:
if you want to be viewed as a real journalist, call out CBS for hiding McCain's incompetence by editing his interviews. even if you lose that very lucrative job.

And Dr. Tagg responds to a letter from a love-sick reader. http://www.tagg-lines.com/2008/07/dr-taggs-advi...
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
tisintx: Couric plays a journalist on tv. In real life she is an overpaid, undertalented turd. She has never paid her dues in running down stories or pursuing an interview. She was co-host of a morning show that most days talked cosmetics, making meals for kids in summer and trying to look attractive.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
NYT didn't have one single photo of Obama's trip in today's paper. NOT ONE. And the pictures are great.

Are they feeling bad for rejecting McCain's piece of crap "oped?" This isn't Junior HIgh School, this is life and death, war and peace and we can't play these games of "balance"
