good morning. i really thought it would be here over night. shows how much i know.

the nytimes has a story today (which i haven't yet read) about hard hitting obama ads in regional markets.
  • 1billinnj2 · 1 year ago
i call friday the day. they have the whole weekend to talk about it and it give more press coverage to obama. i was hoping it would be wes clark but now i am thinking joe biden. but in the end he will go for his friend kaine.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
me too. i want wes clark and i don't think they've written him off.
    he would so undercut McLame.

I thought Friday was always considered the 'death day' for a big story... Reporters on their way out of town/home, people not watching TV as much, start of the weekend news cycle, etc. Of course his pick will get coverage, but it might not have the impact it does if he did it today, or Thurs am.

    I like 4 of the 5 question.

Randi Rhodes mention the last question yesterday...."If you know how to capture OBL...then why haven't you told anyone?

    Good morning!

I like Kathleen Sibelius. I like Evan Bayh. I do not favor Biden because too many intelligent people on the same ballot scares the voters away.

I'll be away for a few days, returning Sunday afternoon.
Have fun, play nice, and don't run with scissors.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
"too many intelligent people on the same ballot scares the voters away."

We need the intelligent people to get us out of this mess....
    and

we don't need some milktoast VP.
    Clark or Biden will K I C K A S S !
  • missmarple · 1 year ago
If he doesn't pick Biden , he's a fool. Bayh and Keane are boring picks and Biden brings Foreign Policy experience that matches McCain 's supposedly has.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    He has fire too.

(Even if he "misfires" on occasion....what the hell.)

We need somebody who'll kick ass.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
And I can just hear Biden. " On this day, McCain said this, on that day McCain said that,...Which is it John McCain?"
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
A noun, a verb and "the surge."
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Ooooh, I forgot about that...that was one of the great lines I think that ever came from a campaign (with the 9/11 reference of course). I like the 'surge' change. Of the three top men in the running, I'd choose Biden hands down, but I still think he might surprise us all with a wildcard...

Biden voted for the war on Iraq repeatedly. What makes him so great on foreign policy?
  • missmarple · 1 year ago
Sorry - there was supposed to be a WHAT in between matches and McCain!
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Why bother waiting for a text message: Howard Fineman, who knows, said it was Biden. So it must be Biden.

I don’t think anyone who voted for or supported the invasion of Iraq should be on his ticket. Wesley Clark would be my first choice. He is the only one who can show besides being a POW, John McCain military record was a failure. He can also make the point that being a POW does not qualify you to be President. He has more foreign policy experience as Supreme Commander of NATO then Biden or anyone else and as a former soldier he will give his opinion but will also follow orders. Wesley Clark is the one guy McCain people don’t want to deal with. If Obama picked him it would knock the McCain Campaign in a tail spin. He is the one person who can tell General Petraeus to get with the program or else because he executed a war so successful that military war books will be written about him for years. AND like Obama he had the foresight to see that we should not have invaded Iraq.

Mt second choice is Tim Kane. I watched him in the governor race in Virginia, on Meet the Press and MSNBC, this is a tough guy, with his Southern roots and Catholic faith. He could go into “red neck” country and win votes for Obama.

Rice signs a deal with Poland for a missle defence system. The whole Geogria/Russia deal comes into focus. Bush encourages Georgia to poke the bear with promises of protection. They do, get their asses kicked and now Bush can sell a defence shield that does not work for his buddies in the Defence Contracting business. Nice get the little countries of the former Soviet Union pissing their pants and you get your friends more fear money.
They are about as subtle as a kick in the nuts.

I am really sick of our candidate acting cute about his VP pick. If he knows who is is, tell us. If he can't make up his mind, tell us. If people are turning him down... tell us.

Barack, this is not cute, it does not make you look cool, you are not "building anticipation". This is a childish little game and it makes you look like an asshole.
  • GrMtGirl · 1 year ago
Wes Clark would have been the best pick .... his presence makes McCain look like a jerk without even saying a word.

I just got a breaking news text message and I about broke my leg running to get my phone...alas, no Obama VP yet....it was about the Madrid plane crash...
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
This is going to be a crazy next couple of days...my phone text message alarm went off again and it was Olympics related. I know, I've signed up to too many 'breaking news' text messages...and today all I want is my Obama message...

Can someone please tell me why in the world that horrible Paris Hilton/Brittany Spears ad is still on Johnny McBastard's website and why it is showing up here? it is extremely annoying.

Does anyone know why Gov. Brian Schweitzer is not on the list?

Former Navy top brass, oil guy, Dem in a Red State, speaks arabic/farsi.

Why would'nt he make a great choice?
