John McCain is all for an honorable and respectful campaign.

As long as it is being waged by his opponent.

Even if Karl Rove's bloated corpse had a stake the size of the Washington Monument driven through the cavity where his heart ought to have been, the Republicans would, in perpetuity, know and practice only one strategy: ratfuck the Democratic oppostion.

how messed up is the republican party when this is the best candidate they can field? to me, that alone speaks volumes.

McCain is just not strong enough, or enough of a leader to influence the RNC.

I wouldn't be surprised if McCain has no power over the local Republicans. And if he can't even reign in his own party, what does that say about his ability to reign in Iran?

Make this an issue as to who will be the better and tougher leader. Obama should note that McCain is afraid of talking to Iran and other such nations because he is afraid. Probably afraid because he knows that he can not even control groups going against his own campaign promise of cleaning up the low tactics. Obama should emphasize that he has been able to put an end to divisive tactics on the part of his supporters. Then ask McCain the following:

John, are you saying that these groups have so little respect for you and your campaign promises that you cannot really influence them and would this not be a good measure of your leadership qualities? Or John, are you really just winking and nodding at you campaign promises while pursuing the same politics of divisiveness?
