My partner and I were in Turkey for a week in Nov. We'd never been there and didn't know what to expect at all. They were hospitable, friendly people - in Istanbul and small villages. We'll return sometime.

This guy, Obama, is very smart. He did more for National Security by talking about working with the Muslim world than Bush ever did with all the US Armed Forces.

That baker is in so much trouble -- he's stealing the Associated Press' copyrighted image of Obama!!!

My sympathies for Armenians, Kurds, and T.E. Lawrence aside, I like the Turks. Worked for a couple of years for a lovely Turkish lady at a NASA institute back in the mid-60's when I was a beginning grad student. Learned a bit of Turkish etiquette from her: never hand anything with an edge to a Turk--always put it down and step away. I'm not kidding--they do have a history.
