AMERICAblog: What is McCain hiding in his medical records?

Since McCain nailed down the Republican nomination he's screwed up really basic shit several times while making public appearances. It's obvious to me he's sliding mentally... Like everyone effing does when they hit their effing seventies! To me, him wanting to be President at 72 years old is like if my Grandfather retiring and then seven years later deciding it's time for him to run the country. Being President of the United States of America isn't meant to be a God damned hobby some senior citizen picks up so he can feel like he's capped off his life just right.

FIrst reports about the peek some of the press was allowed at some of the medical records had one salient fact: THERE WERE NO PSYCHIATRIC RECORDS RELEASED!!!
Now folks do I need to spell it out for you?

Progressive mental deterioration is already in evidence and will be quite obvious when he has to debate with Obama.

The guy is a medical risk, as I have said before, look at him. He's pale, bloated, lacks concentration skills, sleeps during the day (State of the Union), walks unsteadily, anytime he's in front of the camera he appears to shake. So totally unqualified to be president both mentally and physically.

We've alll noticed those things, and it's nothing personal against McCain.

Well, after the Parsley and Hagee fiascoes, maybe McSame is just worried that the public will find out his primary physician is Benny Hinn.
Hey, Nixon released a selected number of redacted transcripts from the oval office tapes.
That was real impressive.

and this puts added pressure on whoever McBush taps for veep.

Same goes for Cindys tax records. Why all the secrecy? So much to hide, so few places left to hide them.

is the select group of "reporters" chosen to speed read the medical records going to be at McBush's ranchero in Sedona this weekend?
with all that bbq and all those margaritas?

Notice how John McCain did not mention the term "sanctity of marriage" on Ellen? He talked about a marriage as being defined between a man and a women, but not the sanctity of marriage. Hmmmm, wonder why he wouldn't want to discuss that?
It's just 400 pages, dating from 2000, a selective release designed to prove he has beaten cancer. Much more salient would be military medical records from 1973-1982. What manifestations of PTSD did he show? Was he medicated in those years? What mental health counselling, if any, did he undergo?
KarenMrsLloydRichards

For the record, I stand corrected on the quantity of material. What still stands, though, is the absence of any record of mental health evaluation or counselling in his final 9 years in the Navy.

has the speed read of medical records already happened?
i agree with honorable confusion below...there must be some sordid details, beyond the routine skin cancers and high cholesterol and earwax (ew), for all this mystery to exist...

AP got exclusive first dibs on the records yesterday; again designed to yield "nothing to see here" reports, which will be parroted by the Sanjay Guptas and Nancy Snydermans on tonite's news.
tlsintx

certainly. and of course, McBush got most of those terrible sunburns when the Vietcong (aka gooks) left him out in the sun for hours at a time, hence the heroic bouts with skin cancer...

McDonald's gets more info on you for a crappy minimum wage job than McBush wants to reveal. He wants to be hired, but doesn't want to reveal anything about himself.
It just ain't right.

What is McShame hiding in his medical records. The fact that his middle leg is only 2" long like the rest of his Republican buddies.
blackwolf

There's no mystery to those of us who've been around the block. There's always a reason for hiding information. McCain's health is not up to the task of running the country for the next four years, and I think the press, bloggers, and the Dems should make an issue out of it.

I bet Lieberman and his supporters (cough) know what those med records contain...and are counting on whoever is selected to be VP (cough) will eventually ascend to the Oval Office....game-set-match....

Its as much McCain's mental health that I'm concerned with... He's not seeming to be a very stable person, and with his uncontrollable anger, he might not be fit to be president. D.

OT - maybe crime doesn't pay, but phony-ass war sure does...
I noticed in that CNN report that McBush gets his care at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, where he is treated under a PSEUDONYM.
While this is done for privacy for a variety of reasons by others, in this case, I would prefer to think that in using a pseudonym, they are protecting something besides privacy...numbers of employees probably get a look at records for various reasons, and might reveal something damaging, perhaps? And the Mayo Clinic was the only facility for which the pseudonym use was cited in the article.
And does anyone have copies of what he released in 2000?

Maybe those melanomas are from living in AZ, being outside and BBQing so much of the year?
Hiking the Grand Canyon (how slow was the going?) probably didn't help his sun exposure either.

He's had cancer 4 times in 15 years and needs constant help from Lieberman but we're supposed to think everything's fine. He's basically at Weekend At Bernie's level

It's not about who the Republican president is...it's about who the vice president is...
OlderAndWiser

It certainly makes you wonder why someone like McBush, who's had all that melanoma, doesn't know to stay out of the freaking sun! Can you say bad judgment? I share the same fair skin (Scots-Irish heritage) and knew from age 16, when I got a bad burn, to NEVER stay in the sun for more than 15-30 minutes, even under cloud cover. Real blondes and redheads just don't tan, without paying a high price, and your skin thins as you age, too.
Like many people, McBush's ego evidently won't let him follow his doctors' advice regarding the sun. If he had, it would have taken him months to "hike the Grand Canyon." ; )

Skin cancer is not the most important issue anyway, his mental acuity is. We don't need a president who's going to develop Alzheimer's midway through his first term.

McCain is a coward, too scared for the public to see his health records. Just like he was too scared to stand up to Bush when Bush attacked his wife and child. Just like he was too scared to stand up to Bush when Bush was destroying the Constitution that McCain swore to defend. Just like he was too scared to stand by his first wife after she was in a car accident.
Spineless McCain, that's just one of the things a full disclosure would reveal, McCain has been living spine free for quite some time.

welp. The AP and CNN have decreed that McBush is in fine health, he's beat cancer...nothing to see here.
guess we're supposed to just swallow that and move along.

We need to make this a significant issue. The reporters were given far too little time. I have done my share of medical malpractice cases while a JAG in the Air Force. As in house counsel for a large aerospace corporations, I managed litigation and supervised workers comp. Three hours by a bunch of reporters in nothing. Even someone with a fair amount of medical experience and practice at reading files would not even scratch the surface.
We have seen the secrecy with his wife's tax returns. Now we see it with his medical records. Given his age, a very relevant issue. But who will really raise these issues.

McCain has some sort of medical problem. He is taking too mant steps to hide the truth. Are we on the verge of discovering another lie by McCain?

McCain will drop dead mid October. He's too old and has been too sick in the past to do what he's doing. He can't hold up.

One question I'd like to see candidates asked during the next round of debates is "how open is your administration going to be?" Given the past eight years, that seems an important question to ask. This three hours with selected newspeople sounds like the same type of shell game the secretive Bush administration has perpetuated on us.

The report shows that he is fit. The missing parts are on his mental and psychological health. Didn't he attempt two minor suicide attempts because of depression. But I must admit that his determination is impressive. Another "State of Denial" case?
