AMERICAblog: Where are Cindy's McCain's tax returns? And why is the McCain campaign lying?

  • Belinda · 1 year ago
Anyone notice Hillary used her convenient mouthpiece David Brooks to attack Obama in the NYTimes: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/18/opinion/18bro... This once again shows her desperation. Billary's scorched-Earth policy proves without a doubt that she's willing to take the Democratic Party down with her. She and Bill have now crossed every boundary of respectibility. The Clinton credo is now one of complete immorality.

If This Week has its first show from the new Newseum digs this Sunday, Stephie and McStain will spend a good deal of time gushing over Stephie's new throne room....Golly then Stephie will be all breathless and have barely the energy to toss a softie or two like, "Is it hard to be a maverick?" or "Do Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay still provoke flashbacks?"
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I would suspect that Cindy doesn't want her tax returns made public for a number of reasons not apparent to the general public. Her returns are probably going to show substantial wealth, Now you need to dig a little deeper. Anheuser Busch does not promote unionization, meaning many distributors are non-union. Is this the case at Hensley? Distributors hire a great number of people, especially truck drivers. Are they union? If they are union has there been any recent contract neogitations, especially favoring the distributor over the employees? Okay so maybe they are not union, then are they being paid a fair wage, are there benefits? These are important questions to ask because surely Cindy does not want to be known as sipping on champagne while the employees under her are drinking piss water. I seriously doubt that anyone is going to get Cindy McCain to divulge her income tax returns.

    Busboy

If you dig deep into McCain he has already made those concessions for the beer lobbyists. Whenever they was a vote against that industry he either missed the vote or voted against it. I had a big article I researched about his votes and one was the one he voted against that called for lowering the states blood alcohol level.. I could probably go dig it up but I am just too tired tonight. His vote was somehow tied to funding for roadways and it was critical. He tried to defend his position but with wifie tied to AB it was pretty weak.

It must cost Cindy a fortune to maintain that aging flight attendent look...sort of early 70s PanAm.

Speaking of Cindy's drug problem and shitty media, this stunner, kinda:
CNN International business and travel reporter Richard Quest has been arrested on drug charges:

Mr. Quest was arrested early Friday morning after being escorted out of Central Park for violating the park curfew, a law enforcement official said Friday. The park is closed from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The police noticed Mr. Quest at 64th Street and West Drive at about 3:40 a.m., the official said. As he was being escorted out, he volunteered, "I have meth in my pocket," according to an official briefed on the case. The police searched him and recovered a small amount of methamphetamine in a Ziploc bag.

Prezzildent Dispondent, how sad to hear about Richard Quest's arrest. He was one of my favorites as well as Jeannie Most. I had no idea he was gay. I wonder if he was out to others in the business.

Voter to Clinton: Presidency will cure Monica blues

    April 18, 2008 8:31 PM

At the end of Sen. Hillary Clinton's Winston-Salem, N.C. campaign event with famed poet Maya Angelou today, the senator opened the event up to audience questions.

One woman stood up and said she supported Clinton and "felt so sorry for you when Bill had his affair and I know no one wants to talk about it." She told Clinton the best way to get over the incident "is to be president."

Clinton stared straight ahead as the woman made her comments, pausing only to reach over to get a drink from her bottled water. The woman, after hearing complaints from an unsettled audience, went on to ask Clinton who she would pick for a running mate

Oh, grandma, that's a thing of beauty!
Yes ma'am I have a question...I felt so humiliated for you when Bill was caught sliding a cigar into the vagina of that barely legal intern in the small room off the Oval Office during normal business hours and I wish he'd had the decency to wait until 6PM or the weekend but I was wondering if you would consider lifting the import restrictions on Cuban tobacco?
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Just checked the video out at Huff Post.....so that's who Richard Quest is...lol...I always he was quite funny.

So where is that list of donors to the Clinton library?

What is Bill hiding, and why are they so secretive about it?

    from CNN today:

BLITZER: Interesting. Very interesting. You also said, correct me if I'm wrong, about a month or two ago that he would release his medical records by April 15. It's now April 18. What's the delay?

BASH: That's right. It was about a month ago, maybe more that John McCain was actually coming from a doctor's appointment. He said he would release his medical records right about now. Then immediately his campaign said, well, you know, it might be a couple of days later.

The McCain campaign told us a couple weeks ago they're actually not going to release his medical records until next month, sometime in May. The reason they give, Wolf, is they say they're trying to line up all of his doctors because they insist they want his doctors to be at a press conference available to answer reporters' questions about McCain's health. Of course you remember he had skin cancer eight years ago and obviously he would be, if elected, the oldest president. So they understand his health is a big issue.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
That's interesting, because I believe McCain got out of the Keating Five Indictments on a technicality, namely his dealings with Keating were in his wife's name.

Just read that link Nigel....very interesting...

Another question for Snuffleupagus to ask McCain about this Sunday.

McCain is as bad as Bush.......I remember Bush saying something to the effect..."people can just go to the emergency room"
  • grandma · 1 year ago
After the Senate Finance Committee approved an expansion of the federal Children's Health Insurance Program to cover nearly 10 million kids, President Bush offered a strange rationale for threatening to veto it.

"People have access to health care in America," he told an audience in Cleveland. "After all, you just go to an emergency room."

I got banned at Huff Post for bringing up this subject:

    http://dailykos.com/story/2008/2/17/1520/13390/...

Is the Hensley money really 'clean', considering the considerable ties to the Mafia and organized crime? The mafia financed McCains early run for office. All the employees of Hensley were 'encouraged' to 'donate'. So much that Johnnie had to return some money. But he has always had 'loans' from his wife for his political ambitions, some never paid back or written off.

    Hmm..A guy making $40,000 a year can write off a $90,000 loan?
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
And then there is the Kemper Marley connection with Hensley. Marley gave the beer distributorship to his former employee, Hensley, for taking the fall for illegal liquor sales and spending time in prison.

Marley also put out a contract on a reporter killed by a car bomb, and one (unsuccessful) on Az. Attorney General Bruce Babbitt.

So, Cindy is the child of the mob. And McCain was financed by Cindys father.
  • rjb7574 · 1 year ago
Well, in May 2004, after much pushing by the GOP Teresa Heinz Kerry released her financial data -- so, come on McCain if you thought it was necessary for Kerry's rich wife to do so, then your rich wife should do the same.
  • mike31c · 1 year ago
That is the problem with these repulsive republicans. They have their standards and then they have standards they expect everyone else to follow. That's why we won't hear a peep from the repukes on Cindy's tax returns.

I wonder if DNC Chair Dean will make this an issue?

Of course, mediamatters for America also caught this:
CNN chart purporting to compare candidates' "wealth" omitted Cindy McCain, who is reportedly worth $100 million
    http://mediamatters.org/items/200804180013
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I remember all the gnashing of teeth the Republicans did regarding Theresa Heinz Kerry's Tides foundation. All the talk about how Kerry was totally financed by his wife, and why that was such a bad thing. Also, the media went through everything about Theresa Kerry with a fine toothed comb. The media better do the same damned thing with Cindy McCain and her beer money that finances Mr. McGoo's ego run for President.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Cindy McCain deserves the same kind of Swift Boating Teresa Heinz Kerry and her Tide's foundation got.

    Examples? Gladly:

I think that Cindy McCain has lots to hide. What do you suppose that is?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Am I the only one to note that the first Mrs.McCain received the grand sum of $17,700 in alimony for 2007. That's $325 a week. WTF?!
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Would some clever investigative journalist ascertain that Carol's alimony is strictly derived from a mandatory percentage of his Navy pension ($58K a year), rather than "largesse" the Maverick chooses to award her?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
No Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) for Carol McCain: 1980 divorce settlement: $1625 per month (included $300 per month child support). Oh well, she got two houses (paid off by Daddy and Mommy McCain, I would surmise, since a Navy O-6 doesn't generally own two homes outright). Carol McCain got less than 5% of her former husband's total income in 2007 and FAR LESS than donations to charity. Carol isn't obviously a McCain Family Foundation beneficiary.... Is Carol on food stamps or any other "ward of the state" charity. Or is Cindy Lou sending her an occasional check for pin money to tide things over between those generous alimony payments taken out of his Navy pension?

"we loved attacking Mrs. Kerry but love sucking up to Mrs. McCombover"-cable news
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
The McCains have to release Cindy's return to avoid conflict of interest on bills which he may have to sign should he become president which would give special treatment, even if parenthetically to his wife's business interests. If they aren't released, then he'll be handing Obama a big hammer.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Steffy's got to ask some red meat questions to salvage his journalistic career. I can see easily see McCain going off the deep end.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Thanks, Belinda, I hadn't heard of the Brooks/Clinton connection before.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
It was a definite hit piece, Belinda. However, why do you attribute it to colusion with Hillary? Do they know each other?
  • Belinda · 1 year ago
Busboy: yes, Billary and David Brooks have a long history in NY. He has been a friend and associate of both Bill and Hillary for over a decade. Whenever they want to implement a dirty smear against a political opponent, they call on their friend Brooks to spread the filth. It's almost a guarantee that Billary was behind this hit piece.
