They're sucking their thumbs and crying for their mommies?

    WAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Deadalus · 1 year ago
Starting to make sense on camp Clinton's inscrutable motivations, John.

Thanks for the updates. Great site, as always.
  • sherifffruitfly · 1 year ago
I wonder if those spineless folks are pissed off as hell that Obama is the nominee because they had expectations of getting ROI from Clinton's presidency, whereas they can't expect anything but fairness from an Obama presidency.
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
They are waiting until Obama passes 2118 out of respect to her as a fellow Senator. That's it.

Chuck Todd on MSNBC just said his sources tell him they don't know what she is thinking, she might not even know and not tell anyone until she takes the stage.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Let's hope so. This stuff is giving me gray hair.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Right, and that's a problem. Obama needs to reach 2118 based on the votes of the people, not the superDs. Not to mention, how much more respect does this nutcase deserve? Every time we give her respect, i.e., more time, she digs the knife in deeper.
  • txexspeedy · 1 year ago
I thought that neither could reach enough pledged delegates? Or are you including those supers that have already delcared?
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
If he gets enough supers today, he will reach 2118 tonight
  • jondavwal · 1 year ago
I just left a message for all of them. However, since I'm not good at tact, the reaction to my "tell your boss to grow a pair and endorse now and please stop coddling that delusional woman" elicited reactions that ran the gamut from amused laughter to *click*.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
Bwahahahaha.... I'm gonna go get my errands over with now on that note... LOL
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
The pundits are saying that Clinton WILL NOT concede tonight. And they are also saying that poor Hillary has run such a hard fought and wonderful campaign that they should let her have her moment of glory and concede whenever she damn well pleases. Isn't this a slap in the face to Obama? Aren't they saying Hillary comes first and Obama second? She lost! Obama wins! The glory should be his not hers.
  • firebrand · 1 year ago
Goddammit lady will you please just LEAVE already?

You know, if it had been Clinton in 2000 instead of Gore, I doubt she would have fought this hard against a repuke.
  • jondavwal · 1 year ago
There is something weirdly operatic about all of this. She has been singing her "Mad" scene for the last month.
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
I am really getting tired of her spokesmen such as Durbin and Ickes, saying poor Hillary, she will concede when she gets around to it. She is still waiting to see if something happens to Obama before she will call it over (my words not theirs). They all are saying Hillary will be gracious about it and praise Obama. And of course they still think Obama owes her the VP seat. Obama is the gracious one and I hope he seriously thinks long and hard before he does anything foolish.

I cannot help but think if Clinton had won would we still be fighting over who the winner is? Would there be all of this super delegate dragging feet? Would Clinton even consider naming Obama as VP? No, No, and No. The Clintons would be off and running and Obama would be left in their dust.
  • debbietee · 1 year ago
Thanks for the heads-up, John. I just called the 4 senators and it was easily doable.
  • firebrand · 1 year ago
Barack Obama appears headed for Democratic finish line
At least 25 superdelegates reportedly poised to back Illinois senator

It was really hurtful seeing half those that you've fought alongside for 8 years turn into wingnuts.

Not to mention right wing retards.

I don't care if she concedes or not? It isn't the first time the trailing candidates went to the convention and then conceded or asked their delegates to vote for the leader. But why does she have to have a competing rally in NYC that gives the appearance of her being the victor. That is the ridiculous part. At least the candidate in the past who continued to the convention didn't act as if they were winning or were going to win they just quietly continued on. Sure they would still be on TV but they would just say well we want to wait for the convention and basically use their soapbox to support the party and spout the campaign points or platform of the eventual nominee.

Hillary is just making the Dem Party look foolish and childish and ridiculous. Any swing voters would say "these people don't know what the want and they can't even control their own party. LOSERS"

Don't conced until the end but stop with the continued campaigning as if you can why by any other means but back room dealings resulting in grand theft.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Remember when she lost S.C., and had a rally in Texas.

Or lost some other state (I forget which), and had a rally in Tennessee.

This is a pattern with her.
  • whomod · 1 year ago
Remember, the Democratic Party is still filled with clueless, spineless insiders that I'm sure, believed the nonsense of the inevitable Clinton candidacy.

This has been the most frustrating thing about being a Democrat. That the people that are supposed to be representing us are not only spineless when it counts, but they're also usually about a year or so behind on the conventional wisdom.

I'm sure in the back of these superdelegates minds is the half baked belief that Clinton is unbeatable. Even this late in the game, they are still loath to incur her disfavor.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
These guys are just stupified into inaction at the seismic change that is happening to the Party in front of their eyes: no more weak-kneed, unprincipled triangulation; no more Clinton stranglehold on the DNC; no more dedication to prioritizing top-down fundraising; no more writing off half the states in the GE; no more FUCKING CLINTON DRAMA!!! The Clinton Era is finito, kaput, defunct, so, so OVAH!

Didn't Reid's son have a role in Clinton's Nevada campaign?

    I don't trust him.
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
I don't trust him either. Anyone who says the prolonged primary fight does 'zero' harm to the party is either delusional or a staunch Clinton supporter. Probably both.

Let's not forget that Reid seems to have set Obama up to miss the Kly Lieberman Iran vote. Reid had told Obama the vote would be delayed for two weeks or so, then suddenly called for a vote the next day.
  • c1 · 1 year ago
I just called my Senator on the list. His office claims they don't know anything about his plans to wait another week to endorse. I told them people in the blogosphere are seeing news of this and watching closely. I reminded him how resoundingly Oregon chose Obama over Clinton as well....
  • CoreyL · 1 year ago
Anyone seen the clip from foulmouthed Bill Clinton on CNN? The guy was going totally ballistic just because a reporter investigated his adultery. The Clinton family has to be one of the most degenerate in history. What slime!

they're at the fence sitters for McCain meeting
  • i_d · 1 year ago
    I called all 4 senators.
I told them it is about time for them to come out and endorse Obama.
What kind of a message we are sending to the American people when it is clear that Obama is the presumptive nominee and they would not endorse him. How can we expect the country to support Obama when they should be the first supporting him (the democrat senators).

What a shame. I hope these guys change their minds today.
  • justndav32 · 1 year ago
I dont know how some of you were able to submit your message through the phone numbers given, I called my Senator- Tom Harkin, and the secretary said they will not be taking these messages if I wanted to communicate this to the Senator I would have to go to his website www.tomharkin.com and he would read the messages there. They wouldnt even let me finish what I wanted to say to him.
  • i_d · 1 year ago
I called Harkin's office and spoke with one of his staffers (a guy).
He listened to me and thanked me at the end.
  • tas · 1 year ago
I just called all four. The staffers were very polite and listened to my comments very respectfully. I think they are catching on to the numbers being posted somewhere on the web. Call --- but be polite.

The Oregonian reported that Wyden will not announce his choice until June 13. Why, I don't know. Wyden's chief of staff was the head of Clinton's campaign here in Oregon though.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Damn, John.... You may have just shut down the phone system in DC...
