Obama and the Dems need to pound McCain and the Reps on this. Where was McCain's leadership? Did he offer an opinion one way or the other? This election could be like '32, with the Reps out of power for years. Pelose does need to know when to shut up, gave them an excuse to vote no.

I wonder if this could be the "grand scheme" by the republicans to bolster up McBush's ability to bring his party together so that there will be enough votes to pass this bill? It wouldn't surprise me in the least.
I still think this "compromise" of this bill gives away too much and stinks. I'm glad it has failed. We need a real bill that protects the people and this one really isn't it. It also make the democrats come off looking like they are kow-towing again whilst the republicans are trying to save the main stream. We know this is further from the truth but that is what it is looking like and the dems have become patsies once again.
Let Wall street bail themselves out for once. This bill will do very little but postpone what will happen on the next president's watch. Let's not give away money that really isn't there to give.

Where is Obama? I'm not being snarky, I am at work and not following too closely so I honestly don't know.

Guess I missed it. Apparently McCain did make a statement & blamed it all on Obama.

McCain is playing a double game. His antics make it clear that he didn't want the bill to pass. He got his way.

It's funny. Not funny Ha Ha. Funny interesting.
The Republicans are in total lock step. Until they aren't.
Lock step in support of a President who guts the economy, the middle class and accountability. Lock step in blaming Democrats for unbridled Republican greed. Lock step in blaming everything they can't blame on Democrats on immigrants, minorities and the poor.
Then today...the endless sound of the marching jack booted thugs that are the Republican party fall silent. A silence shattered only by the sound of the stock market crashing.
how many times does this need to be proven?
