AMERICAblog: Who needs clean air at national parks anyway?

Why pass a law if some agency is going to rewrite it? Can't they be stopped? This sounds like Bush's "signing statement" policy, sort of. Ignore the law if you can, if not, rewrite it?
These bastards know they won't have a job in Jan...so they're trying to do as much damage as possible before they leave.
In the middle of Wyoming... Wyoming air is getting mighty thick
ozone warnings due to gas wells...........thanks a whole lot Dick!

Why has there been no movement towards some sort of observation trains in the really busy parks that folks drive through like Yosemite, Blue Ridge, Rocky Mountain, Jellystone, etc? There was a fairly successful train going through the Rockies called the California Zephyr which had a glass domed observation deck.
I know Mesa Verde near the four corner region of SW Colorado. Not only is there the Cliff Dwellings in the National Park, there are a few national monuments and the Monument Valley in the Navajo lands.
First the parks are starved of funding for much too long, now it is proposed to basically ignore them to build coal plants.
This is just cruelty and ignorance.

I recently bought a bike to ride to my job every day. I live but a half mile from our campus. My big SUV Texas students are making fun of me. Like I am some kind of tree hugging hippy liberal who cannot afford a car or some such shit. (One wonders where they get that kind of thinking...their nouveau-riche Dallas parents, maybe?) Well my butt and legs are starting to look hot....my lungs feel good...I feel more energy...and when the oil runs out, I will still be on campus every day with no problem. These kids just don't get it. And their parents don't get it. We are poisoning the earth and driving around in these monster cars thinking we've "made it" somehow status-wise.
This nation had better start rethinking its priorities fucking quick.
But no...Bush's buddies now have gay marriage as the lead story again so they can bring out the white trailer trash red state voter to keep up this raping of the earth.

And the Rethugs are politicking and bloviating over the House failure to pass the Iraq spending bill. The school yard bully hates it when his own tactics are used against him. Of course, the Rethugs are calling the Dems as "not caring about the troops" even in the face of Bush's threatened veto of the bill anyway. Assholes. They don't realize that 70% of the American public wants this criminal enterprise ended.
Meanwhile, they're also talking about this...another thing Bush said he'll veto (of course, it affects his fat cat friends):
and bush will bomb iran before he leaves office. they better start the impeachment hearings soon.

Boner is a filthy son of a bitch...as are his sidekicks (I'm watching the Rethug presser from yesterday on CSPAN and it's sickening).
And Bostonian, I agree with you about the fact that so many people bought into the last 25 yr hype of "whoever has the most toys wins" mentality. I always figured those would be the type that would jump out of bldgs and come after your stash of grains with a gun when this overinflated, overhyped economy comes crashing down around their heads. Fuck 'em.

My family is old Boston money...very old...and pretty big....I giggle and titter all the time down here in Dallas when people wear designer labels on the outside of their clothing. Or brag about how they now own a Hummer fully loaded. Or have no furniture above the first floor in their 5000 sq ft tacky McMansions in Plano. My mother would not get caught dead shopping at Nieman-Marcus. But here they pay a 2500% mark-up on their Chanel clones. My parents drove cheap station wagons until the rusted fenders fell off.
Dallas...the land of the $33,000 millionaires.

Yeah, who needs it? We won't be able to afford to drive to the national parks anyway.
What an unconscionable mess President Petulant Pissant has gotten this country into.

If you want to hear pure ignorance about what "appeasement" actually is, tune in to CSPAN. I'm always amazed and pissed off when I hear the actual stupidity of rightwingers. It's just amazing to me how they actually make it through life, much less achieve any "success" but of course, greed never needs an education.

Sorry Billinnj. "Democrat" Pelosi said no to impeachment. See? The crypto says no impeachment. How much more do you need to know about your "Government"? (both Sides)

Oh well, with gas prices the way they are people won't be able to get to these places to see that they can't see that much anymore. :-(
