And this is what the administration admits to (in actuality, it's a far greater inflation rate).

It won't be called a recession until Barak is in the White House

I wonder why none of the spineless media asked Bush today why we are not withdrawing our troops from Iraq, since Malaki wanted us to give a deadline and leave recently. Didn't Bush say we would leave if we were asked to?
Here we have been given our marching orders, and Bush and McCain speak of continuing the madness.

Our press corp is a bunch of embarrassing, spineless, wimps.
They have never had the courage to hold Bush accountable, and ask him the real questions.

Sage24 has it almost completely correct. Why are they protecting McSame in the same way? Corporate consolidation has robbed the people of a free and unbought press. Hopefully, the American voters will not be fooled yet again into voting against their best interests.

Finally after years of asking to do so, Bernanke admits that food and energy should be included int the inflation index. Watch out next month when the figures change again showing inflation running past 12%.

June 1981 was about two months before the U.S. went into official recession. This time the Republicans are trying to keep the ruse going until after the election.

America blog draws the most intelligently aware contributors I've found. Are there any other sites which are its equal? I'd surely like to know of some. Thanks for any responses in advance.

How on earth can ANY American possibly even consider McSame given our situation durring tthe past 7+ years? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, it's beyond belief. Only the Wall St., Corporate, and Banking types should vote for McSame. That would produce a deserved landslide for the people of this nation. Do not be conned by the MSM national polls. They're as legitimate as McBush.

I'll bet Phil Gramm's wife Wendy heard a lot of whining when she was on the Board of Directors of Enron and helped screw over consumers in California and wipe out thousands of life savings. And Phil helped create the deregulation that allowed Enron to go berserk.

So I guess that would make him an expert on the economy AND whining.
